I am a first time user. I downloaded the trial version with eclipse. I followed it's getting started example til it told me to choose new>project>COBOL.

There is on COBOL anything in the list. Any ideas?

You will need to install the license that should have been sent to you in a separate e-mail in order for the COBOL projects to be made available.
Licenses can be installed by starting Start Menu-->Micro Focus License Manager-->License Administration.

You might want to look at the following:

Visual COBOL in a Nutshell:Getting the Product
Visual COBOL in a Nutshell: Installing the Visual COBOL product

Thanks

Did you start Eclipse.exe or Visual COBOL for Eclipse? I guess these are different executables.

Did you get the license?
