I have install VCobol for VS2019 and my windows crashed suddenly now I have to reinstall windows and the question is how to retreive back my license?

The product licenses are held in the files:

C:\\ProgramData\\Micro Focus\\lservrc.net and lservrc.stn.

If these files remain after reinstalling Windows then your product should still be licensed. If these files are no longer available then you should be able to relicense the PE product in the same manner that you originally licensed it using the licensing dialog provided when starting the IDE for a Visual COBOL project.

I could not save any of the 2 files mentioned. it was total HD crash

So I downloaded VC latest edition and when I finished install it after VS2019

it gave me 30 days trial

I want the PE license not the trial

what can I do?

You would need to register for the PE product using the following link:

https://www.microfocus.com/products/visual-cobol/visual-cobol-for-visual-studio/personal-edition/trial/

You will receive an email that contains both a link from which to download the product and an authorization license key for VCPE which will be for 1 year.

Enter the key into License Manager and you should be set.

it worked and now I have my PE license

but also the 30 days license is still installed 

would that makes problem?
