What you downloaded is the correct product. The “for Visual Studio” version requires that you have Visual Studio 2022 installed prior to running the COBOL installer which is the .exe file within the zip file.

Visual Studio 2022 can be the Community, professional or Enterprise version but you must download it from Microsoft. The Visual Studio 2022 Community Edition can be downloaded from here: Visual Studio Older Downloads - 2019, 2017, 2015

Do not install Visual Studio 2026 as the current Visual COBOL 11 product will not work with it.

Once Visual Studio 2022 is installed you can run the Visual COBOL installer.

The license file for Visual COBOL is the .xml file within the zip.

At microsoft site I just can download Visual Studio 2026, there is no 2022 version.

I was going to ask about Visual Studio 2026, because that’s the version I downloaded (being the latest, you know) and I couldn’t get it to work.  Now I see is that expected.
The question now is, how do I get 2022, since the version MS is showing is 2026.  Anyone know?

Sorry, the link I gave you does have the older downloads available at the bottom but they are only accessible if you have a Visual Studio subscription.
