hello,
My trial license is provided by Micro Focus. I downloaded Micro Focus Cobol 7.0 together with Visual Studio 2019. Installed is the micro focus package.
However, the problem is that Cobol isn't included in Visual Studio.
any assistance
thank you
#VisualCOBOL#licenseWhat was the name of the Visual COBOL installer that you ran?
If the COBOL project templates are not displayed in Visual Studio, this normally means that the license is not installed or the product has not been installed correctly.
Can you please open up the Micro Focus License Manager group from the Windows Start menu and run the License Administration tool? Look at the Summary tab to see if there is indeed a license installed?
If there is a license installed then you should try running a repair of Visual COBOL.

Visual COBOL for Visual Studio Windows Named User WebEval SW E-LTU This is the model that I downloaded.
How can I determine which is best for my circumstances?
Additionally, the Micro Focus License does not show up in my start menu.

I do not understand. The License doesn't show up on the summary page in the License Administration tool or the Micro Focus License Manager group does not show up on the Start menu?
Does the Micro Focus Visual COBOL group appear on your Start menu?

As you can see in the attached photos, the Micro Focus doesn't show up in my start menu.
However, after downloading and installing the product, a micro focus folder with two subfolders "license" and "visual COBOL'' was formed.
Next, I perform the installation by going to C:Program Files (x86)Micro FocusVisual COBOLvsixVS16.0.

That's not the Start menu, that is the search bar. The Visual COBOL group probably won't appear there.
Click on the window icon to the left of the serach bar and the Start menu will appear.

If you have the Visual COBOL folder then it is probably installed already but you have to license it before you can use it. You should have been provided with a license as part of your download email. You need to run the License Administration tool and install that license before you can use the product.

Thank you for your assistance,
I have Windows 11, therefore when I clicked the search button to search for a file in the start menu, it seemed selected.
I've included a screenshot showing the micro focus license and the micro focus for Visual Studio 2019 were obtained.

This shows that the product was indeed installed.
Have you now installed the license that you were provided with and is the product working?

I tried to uninstall and then reinstall the product, and no errors appeared as seen in the screen photo.
However, I am unable to build a visual Cobol project when I launch Visual Studio.

Please close Visual Studio and try the instructions in the following documentation to run the mfvsixinstall program and try again.
