I have valid Visual Studio CE and Visual COBOL PE licenses. I have just tried to launch VS with my VC projects.

I get a message at the top of VS "Visual COBOL Personal Edition does not have a valid license".

When I try to launch my VC .sln all the projects shown in Solution Explorer are described as 'incompatible'. If I try to Relaod Project a message box appears saying

"Unable to obtain the requested license. Error [18]. No license code is available for feature SolarVisualStudio2010PE.." I've no odea why this references VS2021,

I haven't had that on my PC for several years.

Assistance required, please.

Can you open up the Micro Focus License Manager and see what the status of the license is? Is it expired or still shows days left on the license? VCPE licenses are only valid for a year.

The License Manager shows no license at all. Weird since in My Micro Focus I'm shown as having a VCPE license valid until August 2023.

The licenses are kept in the file c:\\ProgramData\\Micro Focus\\lservrc.net and lservrc.stn. Do these files exist on your system? If they do exist and are > 0 bytes then try to restart the services, Micro Focus CES Daemon and Sentinel RMS License Manager and see if the license shows up.

If it doesn't then send me an email at chris.glazier@microfocus.com and I will provide you with a new license file.
