Hi Marcos,
The VS Code extension itself does not require a license, nor does the Learn COBOL extension but they will recognize whether or not you have a copy of Visual COBOL installed on your computer and will attempt to use that for compiling. If you have no valid license for it, you will get the error message you are seeing.Ā
I would recommend that you uninstall the Visual COBOL product on your system and then reinstall the Learn COBOL extension. If it does not detect a version of Visual COBOL on your computer then it will install the Community version which does not require a license and will allow you to compile your programs.
