Visual COBOL for Visual Studio 2022 11.0.0 failing install on windows server 2022. Visual studio community edition is installed, version 18.4.3 and “Workload for C++ Desktop Applications “ is installed. Setup fail with error:
81f40001 - Microsoft Visual Studio 2022 17.8 or later has not been detected
anyone enconter this issue?
+3This is a known problem that can occur if there are no workloads installed into visual studio, but you state that you have the C++ Desktop Applications installed, so I am not quite sure what the problem is.
Can you post a screenshot of the Visual Studio Help-->About Visual Studio screen?

+3You are using Visual Studio 2026 which is not yet supported in Visual COBOL 11.0. We are looking to support it in an upcoming patch update but for now you will need to find a version of Visual COBOL 2022 to use.
