I´m a user of NetExpress since 2.0. We bought Visual Cobol 4 and missed NE/Datatools.
When will Microfocus provide this ?
Thanks.

Visual COBOL Data Tools are very close to being released.

I will have an update for you within the next couple weeks...

There is now a link on the Product Updates page for Visual COBOL Add-on products under which you can find the Data Tools addpack which includes Data File Editor Editor/Converter etc.

This is for Visual COBOL customers with a valid serial number:

Installed Datatools for Visual COBOL, I have a problem when is loaded:

load error file: _CODESET
ERROR: 173
called program file not found in drive\\directory.

I have Netexpres 5.1 and VS2010 R4 installed on the same PC

I have both Visual COBOL R4 and Net Express 5.1 installed on the same machine and the Data Tools work correctly for me.

When do you see this error, when just starting Data Tools or when loading a data file?
What is the value of your PATH environment variable?

If you have Net Express bin folder in PATH you should remove it and try again.
Same goes for COBDIR.

Thanks.

I´ve instaled correctly the path and that´s OK. Thanks.

I´m still missing the FIX FILE INDEX , we work with native index data files, is it no longer necessary?

The fix file index option from Net Express was not included in the standalone Data Tools for Visual COBOL.

Repairing index files that may have become corrupt should be done through use of the Rebuild.exe utility.

Well, Chris, it´s a shame.
