What schedulers are you using today?Ā

What challenges are you facing when it comes to integration or visibility?Ā

Yes, in order to take advantage of using the REST API's you'll need to first install the Zeke Web Server, to install the Zeke Browser.Ā

This is free to all Zeke clients and can be downloaded from the RCC portal.Ā  You must also have RI-Server running on the mainframe, RIS is a started task that runs alongside of Zeke and Oasis.Ā  Ā There is some set up involved here, where you will need a Environment file, for Zeke and RIS.Ā  Once this is all set up and Zeke is connected to RIS you then can take advantage of using the API's.

The API documentation can be found in the Zeke Web Browser.Ā

Once you have the Zeke Web Browser you find examples in the HELP (THE 3 DASHES) in the right hand conner, you'll see

RESTfull API, which will show you examples.Ā

Thanks a lot, David, for your response and throwing some insignts on this.

However, i am new to this area. All i know is we have a set mainframe applications and ZEKE is used for scheduling the jobs. I am not sure about what other tools / softwares installed or running.

Can you please help me with the list of items to check before proceeding further ? That would be of great help to investigate on the feasibility of using Rest APIs.

Thanks and Regards,

Senthil.

You'll first will need to make sure that you're on Zeke 7.0.5 or higher.Ā

You'll need to install and set up RI-Server (RIS) on the mainframe.Ā  This will require some setup, defining ports and having them opened in the firewall bi-directional.Ā  There are 2 environment files that need to be set up, one is in RIS the other is in Zeke.Ā

Once the above is all completed, you'll need to download and install the Zeke Web Server, which can be pulled down from the Rocket RCC download portal.Ā  The Server can be installed on a Windows VM, or you can install it on USS now.Ā  Ā It's easier to do it in Windows.Ā Ā

Once you have the Web Server install and running, you'll have access to the REST API's from Zeke.Ā Ā

Hi Senthil;

You'll need to have the Zeke Web Server installed in order to take advantage of using the REST API's.

In the Zeke Browser,Ā  once you have the browser installed and up and running, you'll be about to ABOUT,Ā  you'll see a link to the Swagger for the RESTful API'Ā  here when you click on that it will give you examples of the different type of API calls you can use.Ā
