Often you need several assignment files that are almost identical, except for one or two settings. For example, two users on the same system that use the same application each need their own assignment file, if in the [files] section, the user’s home directory needs to be set. Or, if there are multiple versions of the application and the version number is part of the path to the Uniface archive files (.uar), then you also need a separate assignment file for each of these versions, even if this is the only difference.  Dynamic Assignment Files  To solve this profusion of almost identical assignment files, we have introduced the ability to use environment variables in the files, enabling assignment files to be more dynamic. As part of our slow migration from CS to DSP, I have a form with an HTML widget, (the only field painted).  On the loaded DSP I have an attributes only field (button) with a call to unifaceTriggers in the onClick. This is supposed to call another instance which runs crystal reports and produces a print. The first click on this field performs the actions as appropriate. After which, none of the fields in the DSP are responsive. I can't type in text areas, I can (apparently) click one radio group, but the onChange is not fired, clicking the 'button' which just worked does nothing.  To try and find the issue, the uniface trigger in the form is now  askmess "Printing" return 0 But the issue persists.  The onclick trigger I am clicking is  webtrigger onClick javascript p=this.getParent(); f=p.getField("PPV_PREP_ID"); id=f.getValue(); rpt=p.getInstance().getEntity("FILTERS.NOMODEL").getOccurrence(0).getField("D_REPORT_FILE").getValue() if (typeof window.unifaceTriggers === "function") {

Hi  We've been trying and failing to get a satisfactory answer from Rocket support regarding the removal of user keys in version 10.3 IDE (we recently upgraded from 9.7).  Our devs are complaining that the lack of shortcut keys in the 10.3 is significantly slowing down development.  Not only that but with the huge change in the IDE we've decided to retain development in 9.7 and port the code to 10.3.  That's not ideal but it seems to be faster than simply doing it in 10.3.    Does anybody know if this feature is likely to be reinstated in a future version and whether there's going to be a patch for 10.3? It seems, if a secondary form has a large enough width if gets attached to the main form (meaning it does not float anymore).  It can be dragged and becomes a floating form... but this is an additional action. We have forms with non fixed fields... The fields can be hidden, and the width of them can be changed. What is needed is the form scrollbar to be applied if needed dynamically.   The form in question is defined as secondary in the IDE (as it acts as a sort of popup) The obvious place would be (newinstance) where we define the width of the form to be activated. However, it seems the decision to display the scroll bar or not is determined by the width defined in the frm in DICT via the IDE (and NOT the newinstance width) Have I missed something or can this be resolved? V10.04.01 ---- Edit: The instance width is the width to display the window of the frm which  is defined in the code The frm width is defined in the frm and can not be changed in code. Hello, I am getting help from ChatGPT for scripts in Python, HTML, Javascript or for complex SQL requests. It is incredibly efficient to create a script from a quick description of what I need.I have tried it with Uniface but ChatGPT 3.5 is creating code that I don't recognise as Procscript. I could test quickly once with ChatGPT 4 and it looked better but I did not have the possibility to check whether the code was correct.Has anyone already tried ChatGPT for Uniface ? Hi @all, we are now migrating our application from Oracle to Postgres DB. The former procedures in the ORA packages are converted into PGS functions returning void. The literal function and parameter names are switched into lowercase in the SSP-signatures. Those functions which have only in-parameters delivers an ODBC error for an invalid parameter type. After changing the parameter from in to in/out the call works. But IMHO this can't be the right solution. When we use an entity field as parameter the call flags the field as modified and the Lock-trigger is fired.Is this a bug or is there any other solution avialable? TiA! Hi all,  last couple days I am facing an issue with starting my IDF or Uniface app. When I start the IDF then it takes way too long to start, I mean 5-10min or even more. That is when I am not connected on VPN. When I am connected to VPN then it is stacked almost forever. It will not start. I will just get the initial window with UD6 development environment (Not responding). And that's it. I have to cancel the job with task manager. I need the VPN because of the license server.  So it looks that the VPN is making it worse but even without VPN it is a real issue. Sometimes it starts after long period (5-10min) but sometimes it does not start.  Any idea what is wrong or what should I check? Or any clue why the start of the IDF is so slow? We are surveying to see what code page can be used within Rocket Uniface 10.4 EE and the Oracle database (version 19c). In doing so, we would like to be able to use the euro sign and diacrites such as ä, ë, è, é, ç, etc.   In the current situation, Rocket Uniface 10.3 EE (in combination with an Oracle database) is installed with 'Western European (CP1252-ISO 8895-1)'.
