Uniface®

So I'm adding component subtypes to pre-existing entities with pre-existing relationships. It would appear that in some (all?) circumstances, this does not create the subtype-subtype copy of the main relationship. If I go to the main entity, relationships, delete the relationship, leave the relationships screen (to update), go back and re-create the relationship, then it adds a copy it to all the sub-types (it does not check or confirm the other relationships from this main entity, they have to be done one by one. Does anyone have a utility to check and refresh all these relationships? I've tried checking in the database, but the info I'd need to map the subtypes is stored in tplactual, and therefore hard to process as data. I think I'd need two copies of ucrelsh and ucgroup in the DICT model to be able to write a utility... Thoughts? Iain

Hello,When migrating forms from U9.7 to UNIFACE 10.3 we were able to modify form comments via our own form tool entry using %%^for carriage return (form comment in 9.7 where in LISTING.UFORM but this is now obsolete and U10 use UCOMMENT.UFORM). It worked wor migrated forms, but after editing in U10 form comments, via IDE, we found that U10, due to new functionnality for style in comment, is adding "\\par" at each line's end. In some cases it adds "\\par}" or "\\par%%^}"Our internal tool was not able to manage adding new line comments with %%^, our text was added but not displayed or not displayed correctly in form comment in IDE.In Debug quick watch window it's like :bla bla bla\\partotototo\\parnewline1newline2But in ide Form Doc section :bla bla blatotototonewline1newline2The workaround was to manage those different cases by adding "/par" on our own new lines and removing }In a form script we need to update text contained in UCOMMENT.UFORM by a

We are trying to add parameters to an existing method in a COM DLL we have written to interface with ms exchange web services. In order to preserve compatibility with previous versions of our app, I have tried writing an overlay method, One with the new parameters and one without. However, the older versions of the app now return a -150 procerror. Is it possible to use overlay methods with the Uniface COM interface? Regards, Iain

Hello,With Uniface10.3 to export an object in a xml file using ide /cpy we can no import it using ide /imp.The problems seems related to missing "repversion="6" in xml file. Hello,We need to extract a portion of code from the INIT operation. In Uniface 9.7 it was simple to find it with : scan init.uform(my code to search)and using $result for extracting our code.But now with U10 INIT operation is moved in the script container with all other operations and triggers.If I use :scan uscript.uform("my code to search")it will find first occurrence of "my code to search"  anywhere in script container instead searching only in operation INIT onlySo the question is : Can we do a scan in operation INIT only ?(don't know if my question is really clear for you  😉)Bye

Hello,We are migrating our internal tools from Uniface 9.7 to 10. Somes tools needs to access to TPLACTUAL value.In migration doc is mentioned that TPLACTUAL and TPLACTUAL2 are replaced by container UDESCRIPTIONS and trigger are repalaced by USCRIPT.How can we access to UDESCRIPTIONS or USCRIPT (they are not real fields in the repository but "container").For  example after reading UFORM we have to search for a specific code for example "toto=10.5" in UDESCRIPTIONS) in order to display it or to change "toto=11.5".So is there a solutions ?Thanks for helping us 🙂

Hello,We are trying to migrate additional menu from 9.7 to Uniface 10 with no success. It seems we need to add 2 lines in our asn. At this step we have exported/imported our additional menu but there is no simple way to integrate them in Uniface 10.In the documentation we didn't found a good step by step procedure with all explanations.We understood we had to add 2 more lines in our asn :[LOGICALS]IDE_DEFINE_USERMENUS=OUR_MENU1and in the section[RESOURCES]menuplugin.uarBut how ca we reuse our additional menu ??? Hi All,I've created an ActiveX usercontrol in Visual Studio C# which can be used within the OCX control of Uniface. Interacting with the ActiveX usercontrol using provided methods works fine. But I want Uniface to react on events happening in the usercontrol as well. For instance the user clicks on a button in the usercontrol on which Uniface has to respond. I would like to call an Uniface extended trigger.So far I found a method to bubble up an event from an usercontrol to the parent control, but this seems to be only the case for ActiveX components. I want to expose the event to Uniface extended trigger like explained in the Uniface documentation about OCX controls.Does anyone have suggestions about how to accomplish this.Thanks in advance.John
