Html2pdfAuthor: roger.wallin@abilita.fi (rogerw) Hi,  Does anyone have a way to convert an Uniface-string containing html to a Uniface-string containing a pdf-file (raw or base64) without writing to a temporary html-file and pdf-file? Writing to temporary files I can use eg. spawn "#wkhtmltopdf.exe %%htmlFile%%% %%pdfFile%%%" Then I can use fileload/raw to get the pdf into an variable.  But in this case, due to security restrictions, it would be better not writing any temporary files, although they can be deleted afterwards.   There is a wkhtmltopdf C-library that probably contains the needed functions, but I'll see if I find some easier way before starting to compile something containing the wkhtmltopdf library. There is quite a long time since I made som C-routines/C++routines for Uniface..... The goal is to send the pdf-file (string), base64 coded, into a web-service.  Regards RogerW.

RESTful service in UnifaceAuthor: knut.dybendahl@gmail.com (Knut) Hi all, I need to put a REST/json service together - and here's the problem; The .NET application is sending a requestheader with application/json and of course the json string. Sometimes we get 2 fields, sometimes 10. There is no notation in the JSON as to which table / entity to use - it only contains the field names - which coincidentally doesn't match to any of our entity fields. Upon receiving this in Uniface, $webinfo("INPUT") is empty. Ok, thought of switching to a DSP - nah, webload needs to have the JSON structure built in the component - ain't gonna happen. My understanding (and testing using $webinfo("DATA") - nothing happens. In finishing, if the request is sent as a content-type:text/plain, I do get text/plain="{"field1":1, "field2":"yes".........}" via $webinfo("INPUT") and can do a jsontostruct and manipulate the json that way So, do I

Error 0131 ..characterset not supported/allowed for Unicode chharactersAuthor: hschmidt@versorgungskammer.de (Hendrik Schmidt) Hello, we have Uniface 9.7.0.4.x and Oracle DB 12.1.0.2. we migrated the database characterset from WE8ISO8859P15 to AL32UTF8 using Oracles DMU ( Database Migration Assitant for Unicode). We set in the ASN's $DEF_CHARSET = utf8 $SYS_CHARSET = utf8 $WIDE_CHAR_BEHAVIOR = Unicode we changed in the repository the character field Definition from Cxxx or C* to Wxxxx or W* or U*  and MUL to FUL eg: update fare.ucfield set u_intf = replace(u_intf, 'C', 'W') where u_vlab = 'MR' and u_dtyp = 'S' and u_intf like 'C%' and u_flab <> 'U_VERSION'; update fare.ucfield set u_syn = replace(u_syn, 'MUL', 'FUL') where u_vlab = 'MR' and u_syn like '%MUL%'; commit; -> 1661 Zeilen aktualisiert. update fare.uxfield set INTERFACEMOD = replace(INTERFACEMOD, 'C', 'W') where ubase = 'MR' and INTERFACEMOD like 'C%'; -> 5916 Zeilen aktualisiert. update fare.uxfield set SY

DOL file and CALL statementAuthor: fearandir@gmail.com (fearandir) Hello. We've an issue. Our uniface application do not respond when a net connection problem occurs that affect the access to de DOL file. Thats fine, but when network connection comes back, the problem persists. Each call statement to a global proc. returns: "call PC_PONER_CEROS() Object Lookup: s:\\uobj.dol ZIP error:(IOSERR_FILE_READ_WRITE) on [s:\\uobj.dol] '' - File read/write failure Object NOTFOUND [0] prc/pc_poner_ceros@jofi.prc Object Lookup: s:\\uobj.dol Object Lookup: External Path / Dbms Object NOTFOUND [0] prc/pc_poner_ceros@system_library.prc   At same moment if you perform a $fileexists(s:\\uobj.dol) all seems ok.   Regards   Sergio

[SOLVED] winhttp.winhttprequest errorAuthor: knut.dybendahl@gmail.com (Knut) So, kinda stumped here... Windows 10 - the following code works flawlessly; newinstance "WINHTTPREQUEST", vh_webinst vh_webinst->open(psi_method, psi_url, "0") .... vh_webinst->send(psio_content) In Windows 7, I get a -150 after the call vh_webinst->send(psio_content) and the following is in the msg frame; ICCDRV-COM-ERR Error with ICC system occurred, The COM method "Send" threw an OLE exception: HRESULT=0x80072f7d, description="An error occurred in the secure channel support ", source="WinHttp.WinHttpRequest": COM error 0x80072f7d, described as "Unknown error 0x80072F7D" (ICC system status: <-2147012739>) Has anyone come across this?? If so, what was the fix?? Knut

Retrieve/o and dummy entityAuthor: fearandir@gmail.com (fearandir) Hello. Uniface Library says:  If an entity is defined as non-database, retrieve/o does not search the component for an occurrence. If this is required, define the entity as stored in a database, but remove the write statement from the Write or Write Up triggers for the entity. This should be done in the application model. This ensures that an entity does not get stored in the database, and has the same effect as defining the entity as non-database.   But if do this, i must specify a dmbs path. Our RDBMS is oracle. When a retrieve/o is performed i get a:  ORA-00942: Table or view does not exist.   Any idea about how a retrieve/o works over the occurrences of a dummy entity?   Greetings,   Sergio

[SOLVED] $paintedfieldproperties anyone?Author: gianni.sandigliano@unifacesolutions.com (gianni) Hi Unifacers, I would like to move at runtime a small Uniface button on top of a label using $paintedfieldproperties() The button field I am trying to move is called HEAD3_CLEAR and it is originally positioned at 65,10 with size 2,1, within a DUMMY entity; a label is adjacent to the button on the left ending its used space at column 64 and it has its own text attribute. When the form is executed I want to move button two columns on the left at absolute position 63,10 on top of the label. I am using this instruction: $paintedfieldproperties("HEAD3_CLEAR.DUMMY","1","XPos·;ZOrder") = "XPos=63·;ZOrder=Top" But NO WAY...the button does not move from its initial position! Honestly speaking current CHM (9.7.04.G420) is not helping too much: - Examples when setting new values for an object are sometimes including third parame

Compile objects from command line interfaceAuthor: p.lovati@pokerspa.it (PaoloLovati) Hi, compiling objects from command line interface using "/aft=DateTime" sub-switch doesn't work with the following switches: /gly /sig all objects are always compiled. Using the switch "/all" has the same effect on objects of type Glyph and Signature. I tried using the parameter "DateTime" both with and without separators. The Uniface environment is [MSW] 9.7.04.02, G404 and uses a standardized directory structure Maybe I'm missing something... Thanks Paolo

Dropdown box detailAuthor: mweaver68@gmail.com (Mike Weaver) Has anyone had the need to be able to double click on a drop down box to have an action happen? If so, how did you go about it?  example:     Drop down box has values 1, 2, 3. User is in occurrence one of a multiple occurrence entity. User selects 3.     The users are used to being able to double click on other fields and having the values in those fields be copied to the rest of the occurrences in the entity.      So, we would like to have something similar happen with a drop down box. Landscape on the form is very limited.   Thanks, Mike

check for field and "field list"Author: i2stiller@gmx.de (istiller) Hi freaks We just switching a "few" READs from U_WHERE to U_CONDITION. Just putting a pair of quotes around the where clause and escape quation marks inside the clause. So far so good, but ... But what about the automatic field list? UnifAce will not analyse fieldname in strings, so it is not possible to check for valid names at compiletime. Even worser, the automatic field list will not be filled with the fields in need. Any idea to solve this by a simple solution? Ingo   EDIT:  Did I mention, that it should be save :-)  A fieldname should only be typed once  else it will be error-prone.

$UDE in IDF and crash Author: i2stiller@gmx.de (istiller) Hi freaks I do some $UDE("compile",...)  in a simple form. After $UDE it seems all okay, but a few statments later, UnifAce will crash. Either on calling an ENTRY or leaving an ENTRY This happens only, when starting this form direct in the IDF. Running this form from additional menu works. Does anyone has/knows a similare behavior? And on the other hand, what "clean up" happens after additional menu to prevent the crash? @UnifAce:Maybe you can gives us a hint, what to do after $UDE to clean up the environment Ingo

to puzzle: #for and successorsAuthor: i2stiller@gmx.de (istiller) Hi freaks I want to shift a few databases field by one position like this: FOR v_I = 9 TO 1 STEP -1   @"FLD_%%(v_ID+1)%%%.TBL" = @"FLD_%%v_ID%%%.TBL" ENDFOR Then I thought, hmmm what about a #for instead of FOR, as the number of fields is known a compile time #for c_I = (9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1)   FLD_<C_I+1>.TBL = FLD_<C_I>.TBL #endfor And you, as an expert, see the problem :-) How to solve this? I got a solution, but with drawbacks With that one, you could also write all assignments line by line without a #for  Don't show you my solution not to influence your brain on look out for a general one :-) Ingo

[SOLVED] Cosmos DB Emulator and UnifaceAuthor: tommy.balkis@gmail.com (tommyb42) Hi all ,  I am trying to develop a Restfull Api call with Uniface  to microsoft Cosmos Db emulator. They have a complex  Authorization token which i construct it  according to microsft 's instructions. I'm always getting an error from the token validation from server but i cannot find a possible reason. I make the same call from visual studio with .Net Sdk and it works fine  Please find below the uniface code for the http call  ;-------------------------------------------------------------------- Variables String vsUsername String vsPassword String vsUrl String vsHttpHeader String vsHttpContent String vsResponse String vsmaster numeric vnHour String vsHash String vsVerb String vsKey String vsDate String vsResType String vsResLinks EndVariables vnHour =$datim[H]-3 vsmaster="C2y6yDjf5/R+ob0N8A7Cgv30VRDJIWEHLM+4QDU5DE2nQ9nDuVTqobD4b8mGGyPMbIZnqyMsEcaGQy67

$SETTING and a not associated value settingAuthor: fearandir@gmail.com (fearandir) Hi all.   Do you know how to set a not associated value setting ussing $setting?   I can set a setting that contains a value like $MAX_CACHE_SIZE $setting ("file.asn", "[settings]$MAX_CACHE_SIZE", "INIDATA")="-1"   what about $enable_chache_always?. It is a setting that just being present works.   Thanks   Sergio

[SOLVED] ATTACH property, multi ocurrence entity and scrollbarAuthor: fearandir@gmail.com (fearandir) Hi all. I am developing a custom solution to adapt our uniface application to multiple screen resolutions. My aproach is use the ATTACH property dinamically via Global Proc to automatize the process when it is posibble. It is working "fine" but i have an issue with multi-ocurrence entitites (not grids). As i need to apply $fieldproperties dinamically for each occurence, the fields "move" or "resize" but the scrollbar stays on the initial position...   Example: Initial design:     After $fieldproperties:     Is it a way to solve this? Thanks in advance, Sergio

[SOLVED] UHTTP send with OAuth 2Author: slana@compekon.cz (jitkas) Hi, can you give me some example, how to call external api via HTTPS with OAuth2? I have https address, valid token and my test in SoapUI works OK. I'm trying this code in Uniface 9.7, but it doesn/t work: variables string vUri, vHeaders, vContent, vResponse, vToken endvariables vUri="https://..." vToken="eyJ0e..." vHeaders="Authorization=Bearer %%vToken" vContent="" vResponse="" activate "UHTTP".send(vUri, "GET", "", "", vHeaders, vContent, vResponse) Thanks, Jitka

Uniface 9.7 UHTTP and MTOMAuthor: dammie@seznam.cz (dammie) Hello, is there any posibility how to call SOAP Web Service  with MTOM https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Message_Transmission_Optimization_Mechanism and get Binary data (PDF file ) in it? I ve tried UHTTP.SEND ... it worked ( "HTTP/1.1 200 OK" ) but after I ve tried read whole content: https://unifaceinfo.com/docs/0907/uniface/_reference/componentAPIs/httpExecutionOperations/READ_CONTENT.htm I got : "ERROR=-59·;MNEM=<UACTERR_NO_OPERATION>·;DESCRIPTION=No definition found for operation....   It seems there is problem to get binary data of MTOM... ? So is there any way? Can I get SOAP content with MTOM via e.g. DUMP_FILE_CONTENTS same way using example below?   variables     handle vUhttp     string vUrl, vHeaders, vResp endvariables newinstance “UHTTP”, vUhttp vUrl = “http://unifaceinfo.com/downl

define trigger on entity levelAuthor: i2stiller@gmx.de (istiller) Hi freaks Did anyone of you use the define trigger on entity level? I just did so and got a strange listing (9.7.04) Trigger <DEFE> from Entity: TABLE.MODEL [ 1] #define ENTITY_TYPE=XYZ ... Trigger <DEFE> from Entity: FIELD.MODEL [ 1] #define ENTITY_TYPE=XYZ Trigger <DTLF> from Field: FIELD.TABLE.MODEL ... What the ... is this defintion for entity FIELD.MODEL? BTW: And, this defines are not local to the entity :-(   Background: We do have different 'types' of entities in a component, like visible entities or auxiliary entities. I looking for a simple way to tell the globale procs (for read or write or ...) which kind of entity it is. For the whole component, this could be done by the DEFINE-trigger and some coding in a general INIT-Operation. But how to do this for entities?  a) the DEFE trigger should do what it have to do. And this local to the entity  b) I need some kind of I

[SOLVED] Uniface Profiling logAuthor: gianni.sandigliano@unifacesolutions.com (gianni) Hi Unifacers, saving a profiling log from a running uniface application is logging many attributes on each line. Three couples of values are saved without and with a _X into their names: - ELAPSED / ELAPSED_X - IDLETIME / IDLETIME_X - DBMSTIME / DBMSTIME_X Meaning for each couple of values is clear but what really differentiate the column without _X from the one including _X ? I've looked into documentation but without success... Sometimes values into _X column have a value lesser, sometimes greater sometimes equal to than the one into corrispondent column without _X into its name... Thanks in advance for any contribute. Gianni

Dynamic widget change at runtimeAuthor: gianni.sandigliano@unifacesolutions.com (gianni) Hi Unifacer, we have a request from customer to dynamically map the same field to EditBox or DropDownList or RadioButton; when EditBox enduser could type in it and typed value must follow specific rules, when DropDownList or RadioButton enduser could only accept pre-defined values. As far as I know in U9.7 is NOT possible to dynamically change widget at runtime on specific conditions; the remaining solution is to manage all cases with an editbox, checking typed values against predefined rules. Any hint or suggestion from anyone? Thanks in advance! Gianni

Filebox change directoryAuthor: roger.wallin@abilita.fi (rogerw) Hi, I would like to let the user select a directory, starting from another directory ("c:\\temp\\") than the working directory. I tried filebox/dir "c:\\temp\\" if ($status=1)    myCatalog = $result endif But, it always starts from the working directory, ie. first showing the working directory in the filebox instead of ("c:\\temp\\") . How should filebox/dir work?  Regards RogerW.

Scroll (from mouse button) in a desktop applicationAuthor: ranete.raul@yahoo.com (Raul) Hy everybody,   Can the scroll button form the mouse be used in a desktop application with several contained components? The issue is that when i have a contained window and the screen has a small resolution the scroll bar always sits at the end of the window, making it not visible, and hence not usable, unless i scroll horizontally to the end of the window making de UX very uncomfortable. Is there a solution to this?
