Hi, I need to create syntax check that will allow to enter values consisting of digits and letters only (no sign etc) Example: A1A1A or 1A1A1 (so it can be mix of digits and letters only without any particular sequence). And no sign allowed like: /, *, _, % etc.  How should the ENT((X)) in field syntax property look like?  Best Regards, Jozef------------------------------Jozef ProkopovicUniface Community Edition Shared AccountUS------------------------------

New Feature(s)Uniface introduces 'Uniface UX' as an experimental feature. The current release consists of a set of pre-built UX widgets and UX widget Interface, these features will be enhanced over the coming releases. Using the UX Widget Interface, developers can create their own reusable UX Widgets that provide both the server and client-side logic to the objects in the component structure. This feature is still experimental. Interfaces might still change and incompatible features might still be added. Use this experimental feature to explore the possibilities of creating your own 'Uniface UX' for your applications, and to learn about the potential and added value that this feature might have for your projects. We installed a Uniface application that has a uar file with all the compiled Uniface objects. When I tried to access the objects from IDE, I was not able to see the objects. Is there a way to import the objects from the uar file into the Oracle database? If the answer is yes, how should I do that? Uniface version is 10.3.02. Hi Unifacers, for whatever reason our old U9.7 application has several form redirections in ASN files section [FILES] like prefix:form1.frm \\\\SERVER\\SHARE\\form2.frm or prefix:form3.frm \\\\SERVER\\SHARE\\form4.frm even using the U10.4 "exposed" folder deployment without UARs I can't use the trick anymore, tryed to specify it both in [FILES] and [RESOURCE] section like this prefix:form1.frm \\\\SERVER\\SHARE\\project\\frm\\form2.frm so searching in this sub I came across apparently the same request 5 years ago when there was only U10.3 at that time: https://community.rocketsoftware.com/forums/forum-home/digestviewer/viewthread?GroupId=217&MID=9001&CommunityKey=edb92b7f-cb45-44f3-9782-c48a111007d6&tab=digestviewer do you confirm that is no more possible to redirect any runtime component also in U10.4? any workaround? thank you------------------------------Simone PeccheninoLabinf Sistemi Srl IT------------------------------

Hi ! I have installed a docker image for uniface on a ec2 linux machine. I have also installed tomcat to serve the web content. Hi, As per the help : [RESOURCES] , the search folders are from top to bottom. I gave a path for the patches first and then mentioned the actual application resources second. So that I expect the changes in patches would be picked up and reflect in application.  I'm using Uniface 10.4.01 and I don't see the changes in the application. If I copy the compiled components from patches and overwrite the files in sources directory, I see the changes in application. So the files are correct but its not referred by the application as per the [resources]. Can anyone please let me know why the file is not reflecting in application ? I am new to Uniface 10.  I don't see any forms in IDE. When I check the repository from the backend (Oracle), I see entries in OUFORM but there is no record in UFORM. While it is relatively easy to do something like this activate "Windows".CommandOut("cmd /c echo Hello World!", $1)   and it is also possible to run a Powershell script with something like this activate "Windows".Command( "cmd /c start /wait /b /min %%"%%" powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Command %%"Write-Output (Hello World)%%" | Out-File temp.txt " ) I have been unable to find a way to use CommandOut to capture Powershell output. Has anybody else encountered and resolved this issue? I have tried Write-Host, Write-Output and a few other variations but it does not appear that Powershell output goes where CommandOut can access it.------------------------------Harjit BatraIT DirectorRocket Forum Shared Account------------------------------

I am in the process of upgrading to Uniface version 10.4.02 (patch 031) and now have a working IDE. When I launch the IDE, a message saying "UHTTP: Negative return status: -12" shows in the Messages tab on the start page. Also, the middle of the start page screen shows "No connection". I have an elementid from another piece of javascript, and I'd like to get the relevant field object (technically I'd like to get the relevant occurrence in order to get another field in the same occurrence but never mind that).  So I can get passed in a string with "ufld:FIELD.ENT.MODEL:INST.3". So far (since it's one field I'm doing this for), the best bet I have got is looping through uniface.getInstance("INST").getEntity("ENT.MODEL").getOccurrence(loopcnt).getField("FIELD").getBoundElement().idand comparing the result to the string passed in to get a match.  Is there a better way to get to the uniface field object from the element ID as a string? Regards,  Iain------------------------------Iain SharpHead of Technical ServicesPci Systems LtdSheffield GB------------------------------

Hello everybody,   I'm facing the challenge to replace (periodically) unicode characters from UTF8-coded files into useful ascii characters in order to store them in an ISO database.   My first idea was working with a database translation table.  But a large DBTT results in poor performance. Additionally I faced the problem that I should use a "W" packingcode and this doesn't work with DBTT.   So we decided to do the replace "manually" at runtime with a "small" uniface proc after getting a $procerror -300 from a validatefield.   I assume one or two of you has had the same problem before and could successful solve it. Does anybody of you have a (ready and proven) translation file or script for this purpose and would like to share it with us? I've searched a lot the web but couldn't find anything helpful for me.    Best regards and looking forward to a reply. Thanks in advance. ------------------------------Michael RöschAbrechnungszentrum Emmendingen------------------------------
