Hi allI have Uniface and RMS sentinel License Manager installed in Server A and also activated network license for Server A. As I need to run the echoid (Hexa decimal for Hostname + Ethernet address to be used) to generate the locking code, would that be possible to generate the locking code for Server B from Server A ? Hi all,I am fixing a bug in my app but it seems it behaves differently on my local env. vs Virtual machine env. and I am not able to find the difference (setting, asn file, SQL management studio?).On virtual machine if via one instance of app a row is locked (store without commit) then in other instance of the app the record is not possible to retrieve it from the table.On my local env. Hello AllIs there an option to have an $ude clean or a $ude import component with a clean option.  If not, could it be something to add for the future?The problem is, if you import a component, you will always need to clean it for ghost fields.The workaround is a 'delete' and then an 'import'; assuming the imported is already correct.Thanks------------------------------Osman Shariff------------------------------

Hello, here a rudimentary test of how a pure client-server Uniface10 application works. The test values are also consistent with Uniface9. The seconds mentioned are just for comparative purpose and indicate the start/load time of the application (no database accesses).Uniface is processing on the client (no Anywhere etc., which indeed would solve this problem).The application used has some 500 forms and services, so not that large uar-file for the application. Uniface = the interpreter (that is installed as you execute eg. swinuf10402011w32.exe)Application  = the uar-file containing the application forms, messages etc. + ini + asn + images etc.Locally = installed locally on client PC/Laptop                                            Only Uniface locally    Uniface+Application on shared Drive    Uniface+Application locallyVirusscan on client             4 sec                                                    15 sec                                            4 secNo virusscan

Hi,I have migrated Uniface from 9.7 to 10.4 and I'm using a new linux server for Uniface 10.4Regarding our web application, when I access the URL, the web server requests the new linux server and trying to access the usp. But throwing an error in the webpage : "Security Error" - uspname.operationname cannot be executed from the browser. The urouter is running fine and the web asv log file (I don't see any error) is also created. Please note : This is an existing application and it works fine with Uniface 9.7. The same webserver was requesting the old linux server and the response looks fine in the web page. Rocket Uniface upgrades secure TLS connections to a minimum of TLS v1.2 Rocket Uniface has made the conscious decision of upgrading the internal network security, all TLS connections between server and client are upgraded to use TLS v1.2 only. This is considered the industry standard. Uniface always attempted to use TLS v1.2 and, if unavailable, fall back to older versions. Older versions of TLS, v1.0 and v1.1, are now considered unsafe, and are being gradually deprecated and removed from commercial software. Hi Version 10.4.02.005 working in client.We don't think this is possible but I am asking here in the hope that someone can point out the obvious thing we have missed. The scenario is a multi-occurrence entity painted on the form with lots of records retrieved.  We would like to know which of the painted occurrences the current occurrence is being displayed within. I would like to be able to set up a 'default state'  for my IDE, so that when I have finished a task I can reset the open tabs to a base state and therefore 'close' all the objects I have been working on for that task. I could copy in and out the state zip file, but that would also reset the stored position in all the components, so if I re-open a recent one, it will not be focused on the latest changes. I have peered into the zip file, and I think that 'all' I need to do is build something that copies the MAIN file in (from one previously copied out), but I don't want to play too hard for fear of messing up my IDE. Is there such a function (reset the tabs to the specified list), and/or a breakdown of the files in the zip folder so I know if there are others I should be backing up for consistency? Regards, Iain------------------------------Iain SharpHead of Technical ServicesPci Systems LtdSheffield GB------------------------------

Hi Unifacers,I've developed a functionality to fileload/lfileload and analyze Uniface C/S log files; unfortunately log files, related to Uniface sessions still opened, cannot be read with Uniface itself.Question 1: is the lock applied from Uniface runtime "exclusive" type? Question(s)  2: being an old Unifacer I remember when file_load (old version!) when trying to load file in read-write mode was getting an error, it was switching to readonly mode and reading it, exactly like any text editor would do (notepad++ as an example). I am almost sure this was the file_load standard behaviour until U7. If this behaviour is changed lately could I ask the specific reason for it? Could it be considered a regression bug?
