Hi Unifacers,Uniface is distributed including Visual C/C++ runtime distributable on Microsoft platforms.As of today latest Uniface patches available are including:- U9.7.05.056: version 14.0.24225.1- U10.3.02.045: version 14.0.24225.1In the organization I am currently working with most of the working stations are controlled via WSUS and updates to Visual C/C++ are under full control but a portion of working station are NOT and follow their update configuration. Some of those PCs gets updated to latest Visual C/C++ runtime version, while some others remain with the original package installed (becoming older during times).Current situation from Microsoft is a continous upgrade because the C/C++ runtime is shared between latest 3 Visual Studio versions: 2015, 2017 and 2019. Considering also other applications are using same runtime distributable and could or could NOT upgrade it based on their updates this situation could go a little outside control. HI, I've updated a uniface service to contain a new (public web) operation. I updated the wsdl using /sto and deleted and re-imported the wsdl signature using /sti. I've copied the wsdl files, and the new programs and signatures to my production environment in both a patch UAR and (when that failed) as individual files, and the calling program is installed on both the prod environment and a customer site. When calling the service internally (direct to the tomcat server), the new code works. When calling it from the customer site, which uses https routed through an IIS server, the uniface program returns a -59 error "WSDL Reader error create for operation not found",  Looking at the wsdl from a browser on the customer site shows the operation included in the wsdl. I've restarted the IIS site, and the tomcat server to (hopefully) remove cached files. Anyone any clues? Regards, Iain------------------------------Iain SharpHead of Technical ServicesPci Systems LtdSheffield GB---------------

Hi Unifacers, I've imported in Uniface definitions from a "type library". Everything went as expected: so far so good.In one signature imported one of the parameters to be used is defined into documentation as an integer bidimensional vector (an xy matrix) and it should physically start from position 0, like in many other low level languages.Question#1: Uniface automatic import of type library has defined this parameter as string / VT_VARIANT...is this correct?If NO: which data type and which physical type should be mapped to?Question#2: initially accepting string /VT_VARIANT data type as correct I have tried to use the signature passing to this parameter a Uniface list; supposing the matrix in my sample should be composed by 5 x 2 positions I've tried 6 different code solutions:- passing a single list composed from 5 x 2 = 10 positions, using base position 1 for object referred to- passing a list composed from 2 rows each with 5 positions, using base position 1 for object referred to-

Hello,  I've asked this question before, but the problem still persists, hence my question again: Does Uniface use implicitly transactions? And can it be turned off? Our DBA alerts us for the use of implicit transactions that degrade the performance of the application. HiI saw on documentation that for laptops etc. you can use Ctrl+Shift+F1 as the GOLD key, instead of the '+' key in traditional-not-exists numeric keyboard.I've tried it but it didn't work.How can I make it work?

This troubleshooting article has been created with the Uniface Community Edition in mind, but it also is applicable for the Windows version of the Uniface Enterprise Edition (version 10.3 and 10.4).In case you encounter the following red error page in the Web Browser with the text "Error Text : Cannot connect to the UNIFACE process on the remote address/port." when trying to start a DSP or USP component (using e.g. the Uniface Community Edition) then this can be caused by different configuration issues on Windows.Possible causes: The URouter Service is not running. An incorrect user name or password is specified in the WRD configuration file web.xml The user that is specified in WRD configuration file web.xml that should start the UServer process does not have the "Log On as a Batch Job" user right. I want to send a ZPL string to a zebra printer from Uniface.  Is this possible?We used to do this through 3GL, but the customer has complicated the issue and now they want to be able to select a Zebra printer from the network OR have one attached directly to the machine.We are using 9.7.05 with Oracle 12c / SQL Server 2017

In case a Uniface application is started and the adm directory is not set to UnifaceAPSInstallDir\\uniface\\adm (e.g. C:\\Program Files\\Uniface\\Uniface 10 10.4.01\\uniface\\adm) then using the Uniface Debugger from the application might not work. The Debugger relies on finding its configuration files (udbg.asn & usys.ini) that is located in UnifaceAPSInstallDir\\uniface\\adm. Without the required settings from these configuration files the Debugger will fail to start with the following error message: 0008 - Failed to activate Start-up shell screen. One way to prevent this problem is by creating a udbg.asn file in UnifaceAPSInstallDir\\common\\adm (the default application configuration directory if nothing else is specified) and add the following line: #file usysuniface:udbg.asn With this simple change the Debugger should be able to start regardless of if the adm directory is set to UnifaceAPSInstallDir\\uniface\\adm.In older versions of Uniface (<= 10.3) it is also possible th
