Uniface 10 gives different result by putting date in string field$string$ = "%%$string$%%%3;"    $string$ = "%%$string$%%RCO_DT_BOEKING.REKCOUR%%%;"In uniface 9.7  on Windows server 2012 this results that $string$ is filled with  "3;15-03-2021;"In uniface  10.3 on Windows server 2016 this results that $string$ is filled with  "3;15-mar-2021;"The date format now gives an issue in the following process since the string has an fixed length.The windows lanquage and date/time setting are checked on both servers and set the same. the field RCO_DT_BOEKING.REKCOUR has as display format DIS(dd-mm-jjjj)

So, I am compiling an entity in the IDE because the output from a full compile has given me a warning about "fixed lengfth interface possibly incorrect". This is the output in the compiler window in the IDE(f). Analyze entity: HTMLEDITOR.SYSBUTTONS Compile done: [info 0, warnings 3, errors 0] Compile entity: HTMLEDITOR.SYSBUTTONS Compile done: Entity compilation: (collection operations): [info 0, warnings 3, errors 0] Compile entity: HTMLEDITOR.SYSBUTTONS Compile done: Entity compilation (occurrence operations): [info 0, warnings 3, errors 0]HOw can I get at what the 3 warnings are? I've tried gold-M, no help. I can't find the warnings anywhere I look. Seems cruel to tell me they exist but not show me what they are... inquiring minds want to know. Iain

We have a lot of uniface objects in source control that were created before uniface 9.7.  How would we convert these so we can import them into Uniface 10.3 for development once we have upgrade to 10.3? Otherwise we are thinking of keeping a machine installed with uniface 9.7 so we can import them into this environment and then export them into uniface 10.3.

There is an upcoming new release of Uniface 10.4.01.In this blog we will look at what this means for migrating your Development Environment's (IDE) Repository. Upgrading to a minor version gives the Uniface Lab the opportunity to change the physical table definitions. We changed some fixed-length fields of the Repository's entity definitions to support future enhancements to the IDE.To take advantage of these future IDE enhancements, you have to recreate your database table definitions. We are looking to migrate from Sybase to MSS. At the moment we connect to Sybase with Sybase connect and a username password in the asn.I believe it is more difficult with MSS. You need an ODBC driver and need to add some information stored on your client in the ODBC Data Store manager.This is no problem for 1 or 2 databases. But we have around 25 databases in development, 30 in test and around 15 in acceptance environment...Does anyone have a good suggestion how to handle this? urouter? Or?

Hi,I need to add special character to my app. set of special characters. It is Ć (C accent aigu). But this special character is not in the ASCII table unlike other special characters used in my app. And using windows character map to add the Ć for example in to the created xml file report is causing troubles. Hi all, I have some components written several years ago with which you can create emails by interfacing Outlook.When I developed the components, the Microsoft library available for Office 2010 was version 14.Of course Office has changed in the meantime and now the available library is version 16.It is not a problem to change the Outlook signatures in Uniface to use the new library but a problem exists when old and new versions of Office coexist within the same company installation.It is not a big problem to insert in the forms that interface with Outlook some controls linked in some way to each individual user to check which library is available in his workstation but, if possible, I would like to avoid it.In VBA these things can be solved with the Late Binding technique with which you work with Objects to create application instances (Excel, Outlook and so on).The standard Early Binding technique is exactly the one that is currently available with Uniface with which Outlook inst

Is there any documentation for the contents of a CMI file? I can see it's JSON, and probably infer a bunch of information for what's in it, but if I were looking at building a 'whole component' map/search for inherited and variant triggers, I'd prefer to know rather than guess. Regards, Iain

We are upgrading oracle version from 11.2.0.4 to 12.2 with uniface version 9.6. And i heard to get uniface working we need following combination:-- Oracle driver U7.1, -- Oracle client 12.1 -- and Oracle server 12.2but i am not much familiar with Uniface stuff and lloking to download the package first of all to get it installed on non-prod environment.
