Hi freaksI'm try to build a plugin to show listings of all objecttypesFor type "ENT" I run into a challenge 🙂There is no listing for "ENT" but two for "EOI" and "ECI"An idea is, to show for this type two tabs "listing EOI" and "listing "ECI"I don't want to duplicate code but to reuse the on "list viewer".The line in ASN should look like this:IDE_DEFINE_WORKSHEETS_ENT=VLISTING(EOI),VLISTING(ECI)Is there an chance to desclare a static parameter?Yes, there are a few "worarounds" but a static paramater is much more clear 🙂Ingo

Hi Guys,nearly everytime I report a BUG or a wish to Uniface they tell me that I am "the one and only" Customer who has this Problem / Wish.I patched my IDE to the latest Version Uniface 10.3.02.044.Now I have the Problem that proc code like this : $proc_tracing = 1   putmess "%%$datim Start export" $1 = $ude("export", "component", "MAIN", "xml:MAIN.XML") Only shows this : 2020-11-13 14:23:51.36 - Uniface session started S:0 P:0 F:MAIN E:DUMMY F:ENDE (); DETAIL; 2; [0]; putmess "%%$datim Start export" 13-nov-20 14:23:56 Start export S:0 P:0 F:MAIN E:DUMMY F:ENDE (); DETAIL; 3; [0]; $1 = $ude("export","component","MAIN","xml:MAIN.XML")after these lines Uniface crashes and no Export can be found.This happens to me at Enterprise-Edition on network as well as on Community-Edition on lokal harddisc.Uniface says it can not reproduce this behaviour.Am I really "the one and

Hi I'm trying  to copy an existing SOAP-configuration from UF9 to UF10On tomcat side, I managed to create a second webapp with an new name.I did exchange the middleware, so by a new port Tomcat can reach the UROUTER(WSDL are exactly the same, WRD.jar is from UF10)UROUTER starts USERVER (Uniface 10) and the INIT-operation is called (returns 0)But nothing more happens (a call to SOAP_CALLIN_PRE expected, but not happen)This are the last line in USERVER.LOG (profiling enabled)---REC=PROFILINGSEQ=3NEST=2ELAPSTIME=4ELAPSTIME_X=4TYPE=MODMODID=mLP_XYZMODNAM=entry LP_XYZTRIG=TRIGGER=OBJTYPE=SVCAPSNAM=ANYCPTNAM=SOAP_CININSNAM=_I00000001OPERATION INITTYPE=OPRMODID=hINITMODNAM=operation INITTRIG=TRIGGER=OBJTYPE=SVCAPSNAM=ANYCPTNAM=SOAP_CININSNAM=_I00000001To Router:chn=797;len=477: ANSWER; typ=Z;av=I;op=Z;ret=0,0;    hop=0;dbg=0;pid=0;tid=0;qid=0;ins=0;---The "errror" message returned by Tomcat---<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/env

Hi Unifacers,Since U7 Uniface enable to save all components on a server where Userver is running: UServer is acting in this case as File Server. Windows clients load all components through Userver when needed. This is accomplished with assignments like:*.frm $TCP:...After migrating to U97 with Standard Deployment (No UAR, just the directory tree!) the whole application is sensibly slower than before because of the single network round trip requested to load each specific Central Objects like Central Messages, Central Procs, and so on. On crowded networks the situation is now almost NOT acceptable.We strongly feel this is a bug...Request: Uniface runtime from U97 onwards when asking to an UServer, acting as File Server, for a basic component executable (like *.aps, *.frm, *.svc, *.rpt, ...) should be enabled to receive in a single network roundtrip all static objects being involved into execution of that basic component and UServer when defined for such functionality should be definable

After installing the latest patch (044) another startpage will be shown in the IDE. The IDE shows an uHTTP status 2. It takes also some time to continue. We believe that it is due to a time-out for the connection to update the startpage. We are running Uniface 10 on a server which not allows to connect to the internet.Is it possible to skip this checking?Greetings,Richard

Hi Unifacers / Hi ULab people,what about a U9.7.05 standard support extension for other 4 months up to end of april 2021?Looking for comments...Gianni

New Feature(s)Property updates in the IDE do not have to be confirmed with 'Enter', clicking away from the properties edit field saves your updates. You can cancel your updates using the 'Esc' key.QR Code option now uses the logical 'TEST_COMMAND_CPT_WEB' so that you can easily configure how your DSP is tested in a Browser or Mobile device.Updates in two (or more) Editors that are 'AutoSaved' no longer lead to exceptions thrown.FixesInstructionsPatch downloadsClicking on these platform links will take you to the download location (new log on required) The Uniface product availability information explains which platform you need. Imagine you have a Project and make a full Export from your Development Environment.Now you import it into your Test or Production Environment.Why do I have to care about to delete all ENTITIES in this Project-Export-File before importing it???Why does Uniface not make this Job?If I rename a Field from OLD_FIELD to NEW_FIELD than I have both Fields after the import in my Entity and the Program will no longer run, as there are Differences between Model and Database.Is there a switch to set when importing?RegardsNorbert

HiI did migration from 9.7.04 to 1.3.02.When testing the application we observe a strange behaviour with hidden field.In 9.7 the fields are hidden and the place is displayed in the background of the component.In 10. the field is hidden but instead of background of the component I see some other fragments of other applications or black squares.The frame a development timeThe two red an the light blue fields are hiddenAt run timeAny idea what's going wrong?Ingo

Hi Freaks(Test)Migration from UnifAce 9 to UnifAce 10 almost done.Now I want't to set up a deployment setting where I use UAR instead of output to directories.But not all "things" should go into one UAR.e.g.1.  APS and global objects into another UAR 2. Specific components should in another UAR (like debug-tools)In good old time, it was possible to use [files] like this:   DBG*.frm  .\\compiled\\debug\\frm\\DBG*.frm   *.frm   .\\compiled\\frm\\*.frmIs there any way to tell UnifAce to do so with UF 10 ?$RESOURCES_OUTPUT ??? = .\\compiled\\DBG_Components.uar$RESOURCES_OUTPUT ??? = .\\compiled\\Components.uarThis redirection should happen at compile time and not later when it goes to develop!Ingo

Instructions for using UNIFACE patches1. Service Packs and patches are incrementalPatches are incremental. This means that the latest patch on top of a release or service/maintenance pack, includes all the previous fixes that were done on top of that release or service/maintenance pack.For example, patch G201 contains all the version 9.7 fixes and enhancements that are done since the release of version 9.7.01. After G201 is installed on top of 9.7.01, the installed release is upgraded to version 9.7.02 plus patch G201.2. Always read the patch readme file before installing a patchAll relevant information is included in the patch readme file. This readme file also contains detailed installation instructions for the patch.3. How to use this Patch Information page?Determine which patch you need to install. For example: X505Check if the patch is available for your platform. If you do not know the compatibility code of your platform, then click on the link Info, which will show you the

I installed uniface 10.3.02, and there are no components under the install directory or UserData directory.  When we installed 9.6.01 there where 25 APSs, 626 FRMs, & 330 SVCs.  The installed ASNs and INIs to have references to startup shells (APSs).  Is it correct that there are no components and, if not, how do I get them?

Hi Unifacers,I've just found a very specific issue I would like to share to know if anyone has already met something similar.In a VERY OLD piece of code a Uniface application was splitting a string content in 2 parts:fileload v_inputfile, v_contentscan v_content, "%%^"v_fin = $resultif (v_fin <= 0) return(-1)v_ini = v_fin + 1v_fin = v_fin - 1v_firstrow = v_content[1:v_fin]v_content = v_content[v_ini]For business reason input files dimension at customer site is growth a lot during last year and this piece of code was is some situation NOT anymore working correctly, truncating v_content to about 128-129MB. I have found a workaround forcing string extraction up to length of v_content:fileload v_inputfile, v_contentscan v_content,"%%^"v_fin = $resultif (v_fin <= 0) return(-1)v_ini = v_fin + 1v_fin = v_fin - 1v_firstrow = v_content[1:v_fin]v_fin = $length(v_content)v_content = v_content[v_ini, v_fin]Has anyone met this situation already?Environment:Platform: Window

I want to write some tests using the Ranorex automation framework. In order for Ranorex to parse the HTML text within Chrome's CEF, CEF debugging needs to be enabled.Is there a command-line argument that I can pass to my uniface app, that enables a port for CEF debugging?I have tried the following without success:uniface.exe /deb=TCP:localhost+8081:create myappuniface.exe /deb=TCP:localhost+8081:wait myappuniface.exe /deb=TCP:localhost+8081:nowait myappuniface.exe -–remote-debugging-port=8081 myappThis is the precise error message my testing framework gives me:UI elements in your CEF AUT (Application Under Test) can’t be identified because the remote debugging port isn’t enabled in your AUT or can’t be found. Make sure you’ve enabled it and set it to 8081.
