Client File Cache TimeoutsBy default, Uniface Anywhere caches file contents and checks every 60 seconds for a change. Lingering processes hang Uniface Anywhere sessionsBackgroundThe Uniface Anywhere architecture allows multiple processes to run within a single session. A minimum of one process must be running at all times. If all processes terminate, the Uniface Anywhere session is closed, all resources are de-allocated, and the client connection is broken.During the course of normal program execution, most applications will create child processes to perform external operations. Some of these applications, Windows Help for example, provide their own user interface and are closed by the user when no longer needed. Others are helper processes that present no user interface but perform a fixed operation before exiting on their own. Sorry guys by flooding you with question and comments about UnifAce 🙂But this are my first real steps into UnifAce 10 and by comparing to good old UnifAce 9, there are a "few" things which a "strange" on first(?) sight 🙂Ingo

I'm following up on this via this link; https://oraclefact.wordpress.com/2018/04/05/client-server-interoperability-support-matrix-for-different-oracle-versions-doc-id-207303-1/It would appear a 12.1 client can connect seamlessly to 12.1 and 12.2 versions of the database.Thus, I presume there's still life in the U7.1 driver?However, I also remember a post (from 2017 I think) outlining the NEED to use U7.2 against a 12.2 database - but I cannot seem to find that post.  I'm pursuing this because we will end up going to a 12.2 database later this year and need to plan the rollout of client software as well as potentially having to upgrade Uniface...Knut

Dear experts, we have two Uniface 9.6 and 9.7 C/S applications with several forms using the grid widget.Now the customer asks to change the grid color (background and grid lines) but it seems it is not possible, because these are inherited from Windows setup.Can someone suggest me or know a way to do this ?thank youPaolo

Patches 10.3.01.008 and 9.7.05.008 are withdrawn from the download server. This is due to a serious bug in these patches that causes corruption of components when they are exported to a zip file and then imported back in from that zip file with $ude. If you already have patch 008 installed, then you can still continue to use it, but be warned that using a zip file for export/import with $ude will severely corrupt your components.We are investigating the cause of this problem and an update with our plan of action will follow here.

Back in 2015 there was an article regarding uniface and couchDB.  Since we do not have access to the old unifaceinfo.com site, could someone with access please dig out that article and repost it?

I did create a worksheet plugin.All well, I could see the new tab (worksheet) Then I want to rename the component behind the plugin.So I also renamed the entry in ASN-File.But nothing happend on the surface of the IDF.Still the old component is included.After deleting the old component, I got an error that the signature is missing.So UnifAce still looks after the old component and not that one defined in ASNAfter a little bit of research I found, that IDE_STATE is the problem as it holds still the old names.Question: Should not the entry in ASN-file override any othe information?Or how to refresh the IDE_STATE so it uses the changed information?My workaround was to delete IDE_STATE, but this also droppes all other "settings"Ingo
