Hello, we use a list as an input parameter (type string) to call a function in Postgre via SSP. While testing I found out that the list has a length limit of 254 characters. If I call the function direct in pgAdmin much longer strings can used as parameter. Is this this a known limitation? Is there a setting to raise this limit? TiA! Hello, We have several clients who run Uniface 9 on Uniface Anywhere without any issues. All of the working environments are using either Windows Server 2012 R2 or 2016. However, a new client of ours has requested that we run it on Windows Server 2019. When running the Uniface application on the server, it works fine. But when using Uniface Anywhere, the GOLD KEY does not function properly. We have set the $SWAP_GOLD_PROFILE in the ASN file. Here are the issues we are encountering: Typing "" (Shift + 8) results in only "" being displayed. Typing "" (from the numeric keypad) results in "GOLD" (which is the only correct behavior). Typing ">" (Shift + .) results in only ">" being displayed. Typing "=" results in ">" being displayed, followed by "=". This happens even when using the same ASN file both locally and in the Uniface Anywhere application. Could this be related to Windows Server 2019? In this scenario the database access is done directly from the client pc to the database, eg. no application-server used and Uniface9 is used. The letter isn't perhaps expressed by the best possible english (fast translation :-). The different versions of the Sql clients are a jungle. If Uniface isn't used as a Remote application, e.g. by Uniface Anywhere, the Sql client must be on the user's PC, as it is in your situation. In general, we use the so-called "SQL Server" (SQLSRV32) which is included in the "Windows Data Access Components" library and is therefore already installed on the user's PC. This is the version that users of your XXXXX-system now use and it usually works well. Here is a bit of code I have been playing with:- Background: Version 10.04.03 has deprecated the command scan and it has been superseeded with $scan. The $scan command can be used within an if condition. This may help with the deprecated scan problem.  It may need tweaking for various situations.  It should speed up the clean-up process. Old code:    scan MyVariable.MyEntity, "IceCream"   if ($result!=0) ; did you find it New Code:      if ($scan( MyVariable.MyEntity, "IceCream")!=0) ; did you find it How to convert: copy the code somehow into notepad++.  Best to export the code to xml and open the xml document in notepad++. We're attempting to set a timeout on HTTP requests by using the SET_TIMEOUT command. The documentation states that the -12 status means "An internal error occurred", which doesn't really lend any insight to what the issue might be.  What would cause this sort of error that would cause a timeout not to be set correctly, outside of an incorrect time format (which is a -13 status)?  Is there additional logging that I can put in place that would show me more detail or give me an indication of where to look next? Hi, does anyone know or have experience with upgrading just the tomcat version in the Uniface installation ? We have the upgrade to Uniface 10.4.03.x  (coming from 10.4.02.43) in the pipeline, but it takes a while from installing  it till getting it  installed  for our Customers. We have certain entities that we use like templates - all the code we need is in the entity. In the past, I could remove unused procs in the entity, once it was painted on the form. I did that in 10.4.2 and ACK - I actually removed it from the ENTITY.  Not what I wanted to do. Hi, I'm still pretty new in Uniface coding and I don't reach to solve a problem that is maybe really simple. I have an editboxlong field defined in several forms, sometimes in grids, sometimes not. For one of these grids which is a search form, I need to change the behaviour of the field so that once a have type a value in it and pressed the enter button, I start a trigger instead of going on a new line.I thought I could do it with $properties("fieldname") =  "multiline=false" in the a sub_entry in the exec operation of the form but unfortunately, the behaviour remains the same : the cursor goes on a new line instead of having the search launched. Of ourse, I could go in the property window of the field in the form and uncheck the checkbox of the multiline property. But actually, I'm looking for a standard solution for all search forms that is applied in the coding. Does anybody has an idea of why the behaviour doesn't change and what I could do to et the expected result? Thanks in ad

Is it possible to use a database connector string in a Uniface assignment file that utilizes SSPI and thereby eliminate the need for credentials in the assignment file? I am aware that I can use question marks in the connector string which will then prompt for credentials or that I can use pathscrambler to obfuscate credentials, however I am specifically looking for the ability to use the credentials of the logged in user without having to prompt for them or to embed the credentials (albeit obfuscated) of a single user in the assignment file. An example connection string from someone who has done this successfully would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone have any experience transitioning from Vmsphere to HyperV for hosting the server processes of UNiface?  One of our customers is trying to change to new servers from windows servers on Vmsphere to ones running on HyperV.  Tests indicate the processes are slower to start/run on the HyperV and they are suggesting this is something Uniface/we should 'fix', but I wouldn't know where to start.  Regards,  Iain------------------------------Iain SharpHead of Technical ServicesPci Systems LtdSheffield GB------------------------------

Hi, this week we migrated to Uniface 10.4.02.052. When I press the F1 key in the IDE then the CHM-File opens. IDE.asn has the correct entry: [LOGICALS] DOCUMENTATION_LOCATION = https://docs.rocketsoftware.com [SETTINGS]$trc_start uhttp.log $trc_levels 9U When I take the URL from uhttp.log METHOD=HEAD, URL=https://docs.rocketsoftware.com/csh?context=10385^&pubname=uniface_104 I will get no results: When I remove the "^" after the context number (in this case 10385)  the context is shown as expected. It appears that to access the resources at "learn.rocketsoftware.com" the only options available are for Rocket Software Customers, Partners or Employees. As a result people who have just downloaded the Community Edition (where the same restrictions do not apply) have no way to actually learn how to use the product effectively. Is this an oversight or is it an intentional policy? So, we are trying to get on 10.4.3 so we can play with the new toys we saw in Amsterdam. Installed it, imported an XML of out code and compiled everything. Wham! An output file with thousands of "Warning....deprecated...". I've altered our output file filter program to remove these warnings from the final output we see, so it's okay for the moment, but I'd obviously like to deal with the underlying issue(s) before the warnings become errors. So, does anyone have any technique which could help here? A source scanner with intelligent replace?
