I created a new form, compiled it, compiled all the signatures and when I try to run it in my application I get a -50.  In the past (9.7.x) I would have done a /URR.  What do I need to do in 10.4.2 to get a new form's signature recognized? Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has a good method of converting the line endings in a file read in with fileload from a Unix directory (LFs) to Windows line endings (CRLF), so that when the contents of the file are sent back to the client web browser for the user to download into their Windows downloads folder, the line endings are correct for Windows. I've been looking at $encode and characters sets to see if there was anything specifically for this purpose but haven't found anything so far. In the absence of that, I guess $replace will do the job, providing I can specify those characters. There seems to be an undocumented $tometa function which may do the job but if anyone knows anything that is documented, that would seem to be a safer option. Hi Freaks When I was "playing around" with our application, I found a strange error. Or it is feature? In our old environment (UnifAce 9) we tried to use the "decrypt trigger"*) in some fields. After we have done this, we comment out the content of this trigger, as it was of no use to us.All looks okay and the date-field was formted in the expected way  Now I run this component in UF10 and what happend: The field is not formated, the end user sees the raw data.I checked and found nothing special. Then I saw the trigger "formatFromDbms" with a simple comment as content. Hi, Is it possible (without changing the IDF repository) to add a new local variable to every component in a U10 IDF? When Uniface components are deployed in UAR files, it seems impossible to find out which UAR file the component was actually loaded from. In our application we have projects, in the idf each project version is identified by a project suffix e.g. a form names TEST may have 10 variants like TEST_P0001, TEST_P0002 ... Each of these forms will be deployed in a project UAR file named after the project P0001.uar or P0891.uar but will be named TEST.FRM in each uar file the only way to find out the variant is to activate the form as query $componentname or display the component name in the title bar or any other way you can think of, for services that will not work. Hello,In Uniface 10.4 patch 056, we use xmltostruct to convert the response we get from WebService : xmltostruct sStruct, sContents It works perfectly on our server, but on customer's server it's not OK (even with the same sContents variable). At customer, just after xmltostruct statement, sStruct is empty, so when I try to get an item from sStruct with : sStatus = sStruct->Operation->status I get -84 error : -84 UACTERR_NO_OBJECT Struct refers to zero Structs At the same way, I got "Unable to load uxml; error 127 ('La procédure spécifiée est introuvable'). And what is also strange is that I use xmltostruct in other Uniface component at this customer and it's ok. Thanks for advance. Hi, in our application I need to implement reading xml from the folder and then I need to check if the xml is correct. I found the xmlToStruct command. Do you have any example how to use it? First of all what is the best way to read xml and then how the xmltostruct should be used with the xsd schema which is local file in my folder.  My xml files will be some where between 1MB to 30MB. Are there any other better (more efficient) ways how to do it?  Is it possible to use 3rd party libraries (C, C++, C#, Java) for this goal? If so do you have experience which one is ok and how it can be used in Uniface? In the process of testing one of our Uniface apps under upgraded version 10.4, I received the following error message: Unable to load useqread.dll; error 193 ('System or I/O error 193 occurred.') What is the best way to open a website from a unface desktop frm ...  My method is to create a batch file(1.bat) with the text start https:\\mysite.com, and then activate an OS service which runs the created batch file. Im thinking there may be a better method. The problem I am having is that the website url has % in it, and the os service seems to be removing the percents in the case of opening a web site(not in the case of a dos command)... ex: https:\\mysite.com?myvar=%1% So, my problem is how to open a website via a uniface desktop application that contains %'s------------------------------Osman Shariff------------------------------

Hi All,  Has anyone out there interfaced between OPC-UA and Uniface? I was wondering if anyone else had run into this before. If someone copies characters from a Word document and then pastes into an editbox, sometimes Uniface returns an error message or it will store it as some weird character. I have seen this countless times over the decades and have always just coded it using the $format and $replace in the formatFromDisplay trigger. Has anyone else run into the same type of thing and if so, did you come up with a way to convert any CP-1252 character to a UTF-8? Here's a quick example of how I currently resolve this on a case-by-case basis. These are the "smart" quotes that Word puts in automatically while you type. I discovered an issue when I deleted a field from an entity. After deleting it from our development IDE environment, I exported the entity into an xml file so that I could import it into our test IDE environment. When I imported it into this environment, the field is still present. I examined the xml file and the field isn't there so I would expect that when I import it into another environment, the field would not appear. Maybe importing does a "merge" rather than a "replace"?
