Question about IDE/IDE-Plugin and transactions

Hi Freaks

Does anyone know on which transcation (againts the database) the IDE and an IDE-Plugin are running?

Or the other was: 
Is it safe to commt/rollback in the IDE-plugin  without interfering whit the IDE transaction?
