Printing on multitray printers choosing correct tray without enduser interaction

/BRAINSTORMING ON When we developed with Uniface we try to be as agnostic as possible (as indipendent as possible) from different deployment configurations. This is true also for printing functionalities. Today good quality multitray printers enable to automatically collect paper from a specific tray based on paper format (A4 - A3) defined when the spool file is generated. A good example is: - A good quality multitray printer available somewhere on the network- The default tray for this printer (and another one) contains A4 paper because 90% of printing functionalities are on this paper format - Only the third tray contains A3 paper because of remaining of printing functionalities Is there anyway to influence such decision printing with a Uniface application having the printer printing on the correct paper without any action from end user?  /BRAINSTORMING OFF Thanks in advance for any suggestion!!! Hi Gianni, what about a modified P_??? Printer Table? Perhaps one could extend either the INIT or MODE

Hi Uli, It was my first idea...but I do not know where to look for... - printer manuals = not available - I've looked on Internet with no luck...just maintenance manuals, no programming manuals! The printer involved is a rented RICOH Aficio and also the rental shop was of any help about... :-( Trying to look for manuals in a smarter way... Thanks for now! Gianni

Hi Gianni, just googled "ricoh aficio manual postscript". A Postscript3 driver is mentioned in some RICOH Aficio manuals. I don't know if this is the native one, but perhaps the P_POSTSCRIPT may be worth trying. Uli
