[SOLVED] Changes to the Registry in 9.7

Author: knut.dybendahl@gmail.com (Knut)

Hi all, I guess this is really only an issue for organisations running in a distributed C/S mode - but it's one of a nut; Current environment - Uniface 9.6 - Windows 7 deployed. - let's call it conservatively 3000+ pc's.... Running a number of logical printer definitions - all defined in the registry under the key ...\\Software\\Compuware\\Uniface\\USYS9... In Uniface 9.7, the key has changed to ...\\Software\\Uniface\\Uniface9... All understandable - albeit a bit frustrating as nothing is mentioned in the 'what's new' section.... So, does anyone have a 'sensible' and / or 'smart' way of migrating the logical printer definitions from the old registry settings to the new 9.7 settings?? Knut

Hi Knut, There is a note in the 'What's New' section, but it unfortunately has been placed in the 'What's New in Uniface 9.1'. CryI've already asked the colleagues from documentation to correct this and add a clear note to the section 'What's New in Uniface 9.7.01'. But there's a topic in the Uniface Library 9.7.01 that covers the migration of logical printers: > Getting Started > Upgrading From a Previous Release of Uniface 9 > Migrate Logical Printers Hope this helps. Daniel
