SEQ files under 9.5
Author: i.sharp@pcisystems.co.uk (Iain Sharp)
We currently use SEQ files to store some configuration data to be shipped with our system. We are upgrading from 9.3 to 9.5 (Still got some 2003 servers, so can't go to 9.6). Currently we redirect the entity path from the client to the urouter and in 9.3. this allows us to update a central SEQ file from any client. In 9.5 it returns the following error. Server: I/O function: U, mode: 0, on file/table: sye_version.seq; Trans# 1 length: 40 Server: Sequential I/O error code: 9 ('The storage control block address is invalid.') 2013 - Occurrence does not exist. I've logged a support case with the labs, but I'm looking for any help I can get here. Is SEQ the 'best' method of shipping this 'data' alongside our system? It needs to be amendable on site, (in case the user buys new modules, so we can configure them 'on'). Or has anyone else encountered this issue and found a configuration solution? If I don't redirect the entity path through the urouter, or try to write them from a service, the direct form write can update the file, but the client doesn't run on the server, and writes the file to the wrong location....
