Building an objective comparison to me means to compare the two products feature by feature and as a secondary item to build a small application and test real portability over various platforms. IMHO price is latest item to be analyzed after weigthing pro & cons of available features; from a marketing perspective free runtime (and free development?) is a very strong message but it means to me they MUST get money from somewhere else to survive in the long run (proServices?). I've never met WinDev nor WinWeb nor WinDev Mobile on the field despite those many thousands of developers claimed by their siteso I cannot help you directly. Anyhow I've tried five minutes ago to download either WinDev or WinDev Mobile (You know: curiousity killed the cat!) but I've waited and waited and waited and still waiting now while writing an answer from ftp4.pcsoft.fr...not a great start! When I'll be able to have an installable piece of software I'll give it a try either the Windows version or the Mobile one. My 2 cents... Gianni

Free tools -> This is not always accepted by customers who demand secure apps...

What's the link between cost and security? Also free tools could be secure! (Apache,JAVA,LibreOffice,Mozilla,...) On the other side, is Windows or Office secure as you have to pay for them? Another fact is, does the software is open or closed. Okay, viruses and trojaner most of them are for free. But the opposite implication is not true :-) Back to the question from Daniel It is not easy to compare to software packages. What are your preferences? 1) Compatibility 2) Relaibility 3) Productivity 4) Cost (yes it is also an argument) ... Much more topics In my opinion, Uniface is very strong in 2) and 3) And even topic 1, as Uniface can handle so much different platforms Okay, the cost may be argument against UnifAce. On the other hand, if one developer can do the same then five on other languages ... So, it isn't easy to compare :-) Ingo
