Following a move to version 7 of Visual COBOL,  an Ant-based build has been failing as shown below.  A compile failure is not obvious, but in reviewing a "-debug" log produced by Ant, noticed was the following exit code.This exit code presents randomly in programs undergoing a Db2 pre-compile. Micro Focus support has been engaged, but no joy yet. Has anyone encountered this and, if so, can please offer a solution? Hi! Every once in a while we would be getting a Segmentation fault when running a runcobol command. Originally, our team would just reboot the system and the problem would be fixed. We did find a command that fixes the problem by clearing out the shared memory: ipcrm `ipcs -m | grep '524d' | grep -v grep | awk '{print "-m", $2}'` ipcrm `ipcs -s | grep '524d' | grep -v grep | awk '{print "-s", $2}'`  (via  How do I address an "unauthorized use of runtime/compiler (Loc 810)" error message?) Now I do understand that we should try not to shut down a COBOL process or terminal poorly, but I'm not sure any of our developers have been closing out COBOL programs ungracefully. Do you know if there is some other behavior that can cause this error? We are using a developer license on that Linux box, if that might change anything

I haven't used UV in a while. When I had to convert a D3 account to Universe, there were specific tools to do it.  I can't find them now under Windows and UV 12.2.  The documentation mentions tapein routines or using the import command under Xadmin. Everything is incomplete. Under D3 windows I created a tape pseudo device, set the block size to 512 and used the 'SAVE (TIC" command to create an individual account save that is backwardly compatible. UV documentation has no mention on how to create an entry in the &DEVICE& file to access a windows disk file. Sorting through the VOC verbs I found a command D3RESTORE which looked promising but is not in help system or other documentation. We use the BP (break on program) command in the debugger pretty extensively.  However, on this one customer system, when we do BP followed by a catalogued program name, we get an unusual response: !BP ADJ.DTL.WHSE.DEF***'ADJ.DTL.WHSE.DEF' is not a directory file. All, We are an IT support company working with an automotive group that uses CDK Global.  When users of this platform perform certain tasks which launch bzvt.exe, the CPU utilization jumps significantly - often to 100%.  In other instances, the CPU remains normal until the tab that launched bzvt.exe is closed, at which point the bzvt.exe process jumps, often to 100%. Hi, I am trying to connect to a webservice using UHTTP.SEND for GET operation but the url which am requesting  gives me the error HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request through uniface 10.3 but this also returns response headers with no content. But when I try to test the same URL it works fine with the Postman tool and also through CURL and it gives 200 response and provides the result as well. My original query was about automating the download of files from the mainframe using Rocket's Secure FTP. That didn't fly because work has closed off FTP'ing other than through Rocket for security reasons. Instead, simply create a transfer list and use that. After starting Rocket FTP, select Transfer, Transfer List and Record. This will indicate where the default .BTL files (transfer list files) are stored. Now simply create a .BTL file using Notepad++ in that default directory, and for each file you want to transfer, create one line similar to this (where the first quotes indicate that your userid will be prefixed to the mainframe filename automatically). Now and then I must look at how long processes are running. Our web applications should be all running in under 500 milliseconds even though there are a lot of records in the database. An important datatable loading program on our web form was taking upwards of 2 seconds to load. I tested it on our development machine and with the client's data and the same number of indexes (7) and found our SELECT times were about the same. The PICKUP.DATE and ORIGIN.TERM are all indexed fields. Obviously, the SELECT optimizer does not work like I think it does. Hi, The included copybooks are not getting downloaded and I'm in the dark where the problem could be. Scenario - In created a package and checked out a component using the ISPF dialog - I connected with VS Code to the package - I locked the component and then I clicked on the component a) I don't get a 'popup' with the request to download the copybooks b) the z Open Editor is unable to resolve the copybooks Any idea what could be the problem? Hello Everybody, I try to accept the postbody from a POST-Request in a cobol program. With a GET-Request everthing works fine (with "field a pic x(5) identified by fielda"). I get all the expected data. But problems occur with the POST-Request . I tried Chris Glaziers Cobol-Example (LInk:  Calling COBOL program using AJAX with POSTed data  )In the mentioned buffer I got only NUL-Data. Chris Glaziers Example show the accept to values from the environment. This works great. My Postbody is a normal Json-structure with the length of 212 Bytes. After execution of the Post-Request the received content-Length  for example shows 212 Bytes. The accept-buffer for the POSTBODY contains 212 NUL-Bytes. I've installed Rocket Open AppDev for Z (free solution), but Python doesn't seem to be working quite right. In particular, I'm getting different behavior based on whether I invoke Python via executing the script vs. invoking Python manually and passing it the script.  For example, with the following sample test.py: #!/z/rocket/tools/bin/python print("Hello world!") If I invoke Python explicitly and pass it the script, it works just fine: $ /z/rocket/tools/bin/python test.py Hello world! If I instead invoke the script directly, I get the following. $ ./test.py ./test.py: can't open file '/u/z123/SHELL=/z/rocket/tools/bin/bash': [Errno 129] EDC5129I No such file or directory. That looks like it's somehow interpreting the environment being passed to python ("SHELL=...") as the script name it's supposed to execute.  Indeed, if I then pass the script name as the first argument, it works: $ ./test.py test.py Hello world!
