I am getting error com.microfocus.cobol.program.COBOLProgramCallException: 181     Invalid parameter error when calling one COBOL program from another.  Both are compiled with -J (CobJVM) mode. Hello All,I'm new here from Papua New Guinea. We we are using Universe as our database for our Financial Institution- Savings & Loans.Since then , we have have manually coming up with retrieve sentences to extract data to compile  reports requests from the Business. The business I growing & so thus needs for different types of  reports . Only two of us do reports manually and this is a very tedious process you can imagine.  Therefore, I looked around and glad to come across this place. I am looking for dashboards that we can deploy to the different arms of the business so they can have access real time and there own way. why is it not possible to integrate a newer ocx-file? i will join a zip-file with cfile.ocx and ctxfile.ocx. i was able to integrate ctfile.ocx that is a older development, but not ctxfile.ocx The first message is: OLE returned error: H'800401F3'Reason: ungültige Klassenzeichenfolge (in german) unavalaible class string? I would like to put in a vote (if that's possible) to have source control and in particular support for Git included in the next MVVS release. The roadmap for MVVS indicates 2022 but doesn't seem firm on committing to that timeframe.I note the VS Code Git Repositories extension, allowing editing of git artefacts in the remote repo instead of having to clone locally. Im a Reflection for the Web user, i currently have MSS installed on the VM but the service keeps on stopping, its not running as it should. Also i wanted to configure the LDAP for the AD I keep on getting the error (LDAP configuration incorrect), The MSS is running on a separate network as AD. Is it possible to achieve that or everything should be on the same network to achieve this?#Reflection

Hi - I am switching back from 20 years of Unidata, to Universe....can't remember all the differences but I'm sure I will pick it back up quickly. One thing I just tried and couldn't do...editing mv and smv lines with the EV (edit values) command.... can someone pop off the command to edit values in the line editor on Universe? One of the software platforms in my organization is Uniface (version 10.3.02) and we've only used it for desktop applications. We use ColdFusion for web applications and Microsoft .NET (WPF) for all recent desktop applications.In a current effort underway in our shop, all platform administrators have been asked to consider what application security testing tool categories (SAST, DAST, IAST, RASP) would best meet the needs of a testing tool for their platform. My understanding is that some of these categories are only applicable to web applications. After a tool category (or categories) is/are determined, we will look at tools in those categories.My questions are:1) Are any application security testing categories/tools applicable, needed or useful (or can even be configured) in a Uniface desktop application environment?2) If so, what benefits or usefulness do they provide?3) Does anyone use application security testing tools with Uniface desktop applications? Can more recent tool updates be installed with gzip if the file has a suffix of .tar.bz2? I'm unable to access the webinar video that is supposed to explain using conda. (And I have registered in the Rocket community forum.) I'd like to be able to update the tools I have (curl, libssh, openssl and sudo) as I have done in the past with instructions in the readme. I don't know if that is still possible but it is preferable to me. If not, then it would be great if I had more clear instruction on the use of conda in USS. for the I-Types, there is a command to run so a program can have access to the data as it's interpreted by the I-TYPE.  What I don't seem to be able to find is something that could do the same for the correlative field 8 in S-type dictionaries in particular for the A; notation for algebraic style.  we have lots of classic dictionaries and it would be helpful to be able to programmatically interpret.normal conversion, and Trans type correlatives OCONV just fine, but when its a referencing other dictionary items, doesn't seem to workAnyone tried this before?

Hi, I'm using Visual Cobol for Eclipse on Redhat. I know I can compile Visual Cobol Projects on Eclipse, but how to compile them with Command Line? There's SQL Preprocessor , and CP Preprocessor used in my projects. One Compile Command that could compile the whole project is the best (even all projects) . If each program need a compile command , that would took a lot of work...  Thanks

Hello All,I have (had) and old installation that used Uniface 8. That server has committed suicide and now I have no Uniface.It's an old system that the user was very happy with and decided that he didn't want to upgrade and was happy to continue on even though he knew he wasn't properly supported anymore.Is there anyway I can find and download a copy of Uniface 8? Hi, I'm trying to migrate from Server Express to Visual Cobol, both on Redhat Linux. I noticed a Document that contains [Differences between Visual COBOL and Server Express] and it shows [COM Interop] is one of the points. [COM Interop] means [The tools to help create COM objects are not supplied with Visual COBOL], so I think if there's no [COM Objects] used in my Project, I don't need to change any source code. But I don't know what [COM Objects] is or how to use it. According to my research, seems [INVOKE] statement can used for [COM Objects], Is that means if no [INVOKE] in my source code, then no [COM Objects] used ? Thanks

Hi Guys,We have an application that has been working fine for over 20 years, it's running on Unidata 8.1.2 on Windows Server 2012 using SB+ and SBClient 5.5.4This session runs unattended 24/7 on the server console and basically... 1. scans the database for new transactions 2. packages them into files 3. transfers those files to a folder (to be picked up by an external FTP process) 4. sleeps for 15 minutes 5. return to step 1Late last year we suddenly started to get the below error pop-up, this error disconnects the session, if I reconnect the session it then runs OK for a while (perhaps a few days) but then this same thing happens again[Graphical user interface, text, application Description automatically generated]This customer has 5 servers running this same application and once this started to happen on one server it also started to happen on the other servers too.If the servers are rebooted the issue seems to go away for a while but then comes back.Occasionally users usi

Hi everyone.  This is more for your information than a question.   Since the manual says the KEYSTROKE table is maximum of 170 entries, and I was having some issues, I wondered if the table updated existing entries when a key was changed, or if it was just a log which the runtime searched to see the most recent entry.   I did some testing and table entries get updated so it's not a "log", it's a table. I built a little program to test input and exception keys.  I added a loop to set/reset the kr key back and forth between two values.  Did that 100 times for 200 entries into the table.  Set the kr one more time after the loop, and that's the value I got.  So the table updates entries for various keys, it's not a log where you read everything to find the most recent change.
