Hello, all.I need to install 'bash' and 'make' here on my z/OS 2.4 USS system. How do I change the behavior so that it opens the ulibrary.chm file specified in the common\\adm\\usys.asn file instead? Or how do I get the F1 to take me to the ulibrary.chm file?

When i have a discrepancy between my data base definition and my field definition i get an "Invalid descriptor index" error message in SQLERRMC.Is there anyway of identifying which field that pertains to? Thanks for any help

Hi All,Given an item ID such as 001000885$25BIW06GN-1$16407 and a dictionary item such as:001 S002 0003 MONTH004005006007 A;0(G2$1]DMA]T1,3):"-":0(G2$1]DY)008 G2$1009 R010 8A LIST or SORT on the dictionary item returns the correct value "Dec-2012".  However, when this same dictionary item is passed to the SS connective as in LIST ... SS MONTH "01/01/2012" "31/12/2012"  UNITS ..., the value returned is garbage as in "-"  and the totals a single column of all zeroes (we use European date format).Have I structured the dictionary item incorrectly or is there a bug in the SS handling of the dictionary item?Vincent

There is an upcoming new release of Uniface 10.4.01.In this blog we will look at what this means for migrating your Development Environment's (IDE) Repository. Upgrading to a minor version gives the Uniface Lab the opportunity to change the physical table definitions. We changed some fixed-length fields of the Repository's entity definitions to support future enhancements to the IDE.To take advantage of these future IDE enhancements, you have to recreate your database table definitions. To do so, just export your existing Repository data and then import it into 10.4.01.  Tables are automatically recreated using the new entity descriptors when you import. We've just moved to a new server running RedHat 7 with UV 11.3.1.6022. A program that was running properly on the old system is failing on the new in a line attempting to start access to an XML file. I'm working with UniData 8.2.  I've written a utility that lets me view and treat an SQL table like it was a local UniData file with UniQuery type commands.It's been working fine.  But I am having an issue with one ODBC connection that sends back the rows but not the data for the columns.Has anyone seen this before?  Could it be some type of privilege setting?  I can get data back using an SQL manager tool using the same logon credentials.SQLFetch doesn't bring back any error messages, just no data.I am going from one domain to another, all within our intranet.Thoughts?

We are looking to migrate from Sybase to MSS. At the moment we connect to Sybase with Sybase connect and a username password in the asn.I believe it is more difficult with MSS. You need an ODBC driver and need to add some information stored on your client in the ODBC Data Store manager.This is no problem for 1 or 2 databases. But we have around 25 databases in development, 30 in test and around 15 in acceptance environment...Does anyone have a good suggestion how to handle this? urouter? Or?

Every year at Rocket we get the opportunity to pitch an idea for a technical project and do a bit of inventive hacking. We call this fun event Rocket Build 🚀.This year I wanted to find out if there is any value in using a Machine Learning sentiment algorithm to scan our huge mass of support comments to identify whether contacts (clients/users etc..) were happy (aka satisfied) with their support experience or not, so we could take remedial action. (We already do this of course - but only if we can identify it)On average we get about 15% survey responses on closed support issues (cases), which is a pretty good result. So we have a significant sample of data where the contact personally identifies whether they were satisfied or not with the experience AND we could use this sample data to train an sentiment algorithm on the remaining 85% of cases. - but would it really work?It seems that some people like replying on case surveys, but most don't.
