We run UV 11.2.5 on RHEL7 servers, and use UniRPC connections a lot.I have been looking for a way to automatically apply reduced priority to some UniRPC connections based on the connecting user id.I have tried creating a new 'conf' file in /etc/security/limits.d.These files get applied by the PAM limits module for new login connections, but when the UniRPC daemon validates the credentials of the in-coming connection it appears to not be running through the PAM modules so when the uvcs / defcs / uvserver session is launched using the supplied user credentials the resulting PID is running with the default priority.Does anyone know of a way to automatically have the launched uvcs / defcs / uvserver process use a non-default priority?

We have used printer loadable soft fonts to print logos on packing slips for over a decade. I am now unable to find anyone that can provide a service or software to convert images into SPF files. All,When I have no records selected in an INFORM report, the heading does not print. Users are asking the admin staff if a print job was printed. Is there a way I can force the heading to print if no records are selected, or is there a way I can place the report name in the Unix spooler banner page? I get a banner page with no records selected, but I think it is from the Unix spooler. Maybe set an environment variable to put into the banner?Jon

Hi,I need to add special character to my app. set of special characters. It is Ć (C accent aigu). But this special character is not in the ASCII table unlike other special characters used in my app. And using windows character map to add the Ć for example in to the created xml file report is causing troubles. We use the Import file function in Wintegrate extensively for our quarterly reporting and extracts.   Has anyone automated the process where you call the Import file function (using .wis files predefined) from a program?  Looking to create a batch process for our quarter close and call multiple imports to facilitate data imports into Excel.  I looked through previous threads as well as documentation but could not find anything referencing calling/running the .wis files from a program.------------------------------Cory BelgradeSr ManagerOne America------------------------------

I need to securely store pdf documents.  First thought was to encrypt and store on web server, then keep the key in DB to decrypt.  Second and better thought would be to upload the pdf to the DB and store the binary document in the DB.Just wondering if anybody has attempted to store a PDF document in the db and if they would be willing to share any code/problems.Craig------------------------------Craig Curtiscraig.curtis@seviersd.org------------------------------

Hi Everyone, just a bit of background, we have several Excel Applications that use ODBC to fetch data from UV files and update, and have reached the limits of what is available with the allowed joins and use VBA scripts to perform several queries. We run in to problems that if there are no Client Licences available, for obvious reason the Queries don't execute and this can lead to problems getting the queries to rerun I am sure this is down to MS Excel / MS Query / limitations of the Rocket ODBC drivers. we are using the latest U2CL_5.2.1 I was wondering if anyone has any experience of using MS Access as a vehicle to extract data and if "LINK TABLES" are considered a supportable and reliable way to extract the External Data and then point our Excel process at the Access harvested data rather than Excel extract the data directly from UV I've had a play and only got limited success with the MS ACCESS "Link Table", some tables wont return data and present on ODBC - CALL FAILED error, even

I am new to InstantSQL and I am running RMCobol on Linux 64bit.  I am using InstantSQL to select columns from a table that is on IBM DB2 mainframe, which I am using an unixODBC driver manager.  Any column that is defined as a CHAR, doesn't give me any values back on the SQL BIND COLUMN statement.  The database has it defined as CHAR 9, NOT NULL and I have it defined as PIC X(9) in working storage to bind to.  Any decimal columns that I have seem to work fine.  The CUS_ID column is the one I am having issues with below. Hi all, I have some components written several years ago with which you can create emails by interfacing Outlook.When I developed the components, the Microsoft library available for Office 2010 was version 14.Of course Office has changed in the meantime and now the available library is version 16.It is not a problem to change the Outlook signatures in Uniface to use the new library but a problem exists when old and new versions of Office coexist within the same company installation.It is not a big problem to insert in the forms that interface with Outlook some controls linked in some way to each individual user to check which library is available in his workstation but, if possible, I would like to avoid it.In VBA these things can be solved with the Late Binding technique with which you work with Objects to create application instances (Excel, Outlook and so on).The standard Early Binding technique is exactly the one that is currently available with Uniface with which Outlook inst
