I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this, but for the record ...My understanding is that Microsoft allows different versions of Visual Studio (for example VS 2013 and VS 2019) to coexist "side-by-side" on the same development PC.  And even different versions of .Net to coexist on the same server.My question(s):1) Does Micro Focus allow different versions of Visual COBOL to coexist on the same development PC?2) And different versions of COBOL Server to coexist on the same hardware server or same virtual server?Thanks 

Status: DeliveredDeliveredAs I wrote in the case this is not good enough.You can disable the build when save a component, but this will not make the build panel appear when the editor close.We need an option for "Launch Build after closing editor" so the Ctrl+S (Save) does not show the build panel.Users very often press Ctrl+S to save without wanting to build - it is just to be sure their work is saved. The "Launch Build after save" is OK to have too. With these two check- marks developers can make it work as they wish.In general my experience is that developers work differently and also depending of the project.This makes it essential that you do not decide how things should be done but make options in the product.

Hi, I tried AcuToWeb 10.1 a couple of years ago and had several problems that couldn't be resolved.  I just recently tried version 10.2 and was very impressed with the progress.  The scroll bars now show up where they are needed and the visual aspects are nearly identical to the thin client.  However, I'm still having two problems. The first is that, at the bottom of many of our screens, is a Status-Bar element.  When the information in it is updated, it works fine.  But whenever the vertical scroll bar is used, the Status-Bar element immediately disappears (or vertically shrinks to a horizontal line; I can't tell for sure if it's there or if there's just a rendering artifact). The second is that we open a second screen (in the thin client it is a new window) to display our help information.  In AcuToWeb, this new screen is completely blank.  I've tried using the debugger and it looks like it's trying to add the text to the window, but nothing is disp

Has anyone had this issue where git diff does not show colors correctly? Clearly it’s trying to display the escape sequences but they aren’t coming out right. It works fine for git branch -v so just wondering if there is something I’m doing wrong.

I've used other TN3270 emulators and am sure this doesn't happen. If you paste over a single line, trailing characters are reserved, however when you paste across multiple lines the trailing characters are blanked out. Is this a Rumba option somewhere, I cannot find it ? #Rumba

I spend three days trying to solve this last week and was unsuccessful. I currently have a Windows Form text box in which the user types the numbers 123456789. I want to move that data into a numeric field with the value of: 1234567.89 where the last two numbers are to be placed to the right of the decimal point. I'm using COBOL via Visual COBOL 2013 4.0 to access a MySQL Community 8.0 database. MySQL for Visual Studio 1.2.8, using OpenESQL to connect, Managed COBOL.The core of my database is a 3-record hierarchy, joined by indexes, the bottom table of which holds variable-length line data, defined as TEXT. My maximum text line is 7060 bytes. I have an application that processes lines of any length perfectly happily through this structure, generating a converted output that clearly 'sees' and processes every byte in every row. Hi Unifacers,Objects currently listed into CHM page "Objects included in Symbol Tables" does NOT include "Global Constants" or "Local Constants". They are compile time objects  and, also if they are managed from pre-compiler, they should be traced during compilations.I have checked this in U9.7.05 but my feeling is this should be also true for U10.Is there any reason to have those missing or this could be defined as a bug?Thanks for any opinion.Gianni

Good day everyone,I am having trouble trying to figure out how to get a prompt to pop up for me to enter some values. and then those values will be used later on in the script.For example, I need to insert 4 different dates at a certain point in my script, and instead of pausing the script so I can manually insert them, it would be nice if I could prompt for them at the start, and it will automatically insert them. as the script goes.I would just use a format date line, but unfortunately these are fiscal dates, which changes for every month, every year.Would anyone be able to help me out? As always, thanks in advance.#Rumba

Hello, can you help me with the following problem? We have an old client / server application using C / S Binding technology (client=Windows, server=linux or windows). We use Net Express and Server Express for development. Now we want to migrate to the Visual Cobol 5.0.What tools do you recommend? Is Visual Cobol Development Hub 5.0  a standalone product or I need to have a Visual Cobol 5.0 for Visual Studio 2017 or for Eclips? Is C/S Binding technology a part of mentioned products? If I have a component that is a form, with code in the Async Interrupt trigger I understand how the code responds to the postmessage instruction. However, if the form is converted to a service, how does the code in the Async Interrupt trigger ever execute? Or is the short answer, it never does - because a service only responds to activate instructions that invoke specific operations and once the operation has completed, the service terminates, and there is no opportunity for it to wait and listen for interrupts.Trying to get a better feel for how services do and do not work.

Question Although it not common, JCL (Job Control Language) files may contain multiple job definitions. If these types of files are loaded into Enterprise Analyzer (EA) will it be able to verify the file and produce information about the different jobs that are defined in the file. Answer EA currently only supports a one to one relationship between JCL file and Job defined in it. This means that a JCL file can only contain one job within it. A JCL module that contains more than one job defined in it, will fail verification and analysis of that file will not be possible. The current solution is to break up the JCL file into multiple files with each file only containing one job in it.
