We have version 6.2 installed on our systems and version 7 on another.  We have experienced issues with version 7 in that on occasion when we preform a recycle it gets hung up, this has been an issue since last summer, we have been told it is some sort of memory overlay issue and Rocket Support is trying to work with IBM to come up with a fix, as such we were advised not to upgrade our 6.2 environment to version 7.  I am just wondering if anyone else in the community has run into this issue or if its unique to my organization. ------------------------------Brian StahlSenior Mainframe Systems EngineerRocket Forum Shared Account------------------------------

We run d3 on an Windows Server 2008 Can someone describe how to move d3 to a new server (windows 2012)? eg;  Download installer to create the d3 environment Move live data from current server to new server. Explain how the license which allows the application to run is transferred to the new server. This is probably an easy question for someone but I dont know the answer. I just switched to a new job and their wildcards seem to be prime like instead of PICK like...for instance - where I used to type 'SELECT VOC = "[KH]"' they are typing 'SELECT VOC WITH @ID LIKE "...KH..."' Can someone tell me if this is a UDT option? term type? some other setting that I can adjust? I can of course just get used to the new syntax but was wondering why it is different. This may be my ELI5 moment, but I'm trying to make a correct list Visual Studio 2019 -- 32-bit product, Visual Cobol 7 for Visual Studio 2019 -- 32-bit product Visual Studio 2022 -- 64-bit product, Visual Cobol 9 for Visual Studio 2022 -- 32-bit product (installed to program x86) Visual Studio 2022 -- 64-bit product, Visual Cobol 10 for Visual Studio 2022 -- ??-bit product Why do I wonder this ? We use Oracle with pro*cob precompiler and depending on your solution you need an instant client of the correct type 32/64. Having a 64-bit solution with a 32-bit product comes with a performance cost so you usually avoid that. We also use Toad, nowadays a 64-bit product. Normally not a problem unless you want to configure proxy logins which requires a thick client, not the built in. Now you need 32 and 64-bit Instant Clients on the same machine which is a configuration problem since VS/VC want one thing and Toad another. It would be nice to be all 64-bit and able to ignore that headache. So

Hi , I have a requirement where I need to right click it will show paste and paste, content should text area. I have a paste page the embedded script in the action Is way to paste content in the textarea. Can anyone suggest a solution to this?. WE have just upgraded to Uniface 10.4.02.052 and when we display forms with data which has underscores in them in editboxes we cannot see the underscores when displaying data. These same screens displayed correctly in uniface 10.3. When you zoom into these editboxes you can see the underscores. Hi,  We are trying to evaluate the "Unisys ODBC driver "  (ODBC driver connector) to support for Visual COBOL.  In visual cobol document :ODBC Structure, we came across the DRVTST32.EXE under this document. Could you please help me with details of    a. Can the DRVTST32 utility be used to validate our ODBC driver and validate whether it will work with visual Cobol ?    b.  Where to download & how to install the DRVTST32.exe?     c. Im wondering how it is possible to have the text of an error or informational message using the 'message' keyword or 'askmess' keyword be controlled by variables and not literal text.  We have a need where the contents of the message could change based on location of a file, for instance.  Consider the following example of what I would like to be able to do.  We would use the message in s_log_text to both display a message on the screen to the user, as well as write the text to a log file. s_log_text = "File '%%s_filename%%%' saved successfully."message/info s_log_textactivate "sl_logfile".o_write(s_log_text, s_log_filename) Right now, if I were to execute this, the message box appears blank.  The only way I can seem to get this to work so far is to type out the text literally between double quotes, duplicating what is in s_log_text, with possible inconsistencies.  Is it possible to do what I want above?------------------------------Tim ColvinSmyth Retail Systems Inc.Alliance OH US---

hi, May I introduce a suggestion to help the program runtime to check the type of a variable and not crash. There is already a function DESCRINFO(1,variable) which return the type of the variable ; so some type c.f. descrinfo() doc ref  on sellist, pyobject, udo, do, xdom, ... descrinfo() return -1 ...  I'll suggest to implement more descrinfo result value like 11=sellist, 12=pyobject, 13=udo, 14=do, 15=xdom, ... and by extension, if request_code = 2,  descrinfo return a DO with polymorph properties aka. metadata about the variable.  with kind regards------------------------------Manu Fernandes------------------------------

We have an issue where the column sizes of grids don't store in the registry.  The keep layout is set to default, and the storage is set to component. The grid layout is set ON. I have recently found an updated .ini setting in LAYOUT SaveContainedForm and I have set that to on.  We do have some fields painted which are for data storage, rather than display, so they are set to hidden and then the whole column is hidden using $columnsyntax as part of the initialisation routine. I seem to recall something about this preventing column sizes of the other fields being stored. Is that still the case?  We did have a home grown function in 'column_resized' and 'viewport_resized' to store the layout in a separate registry key if the columns were hidden (using the 'VISIBLE' grid property), but we were informed it was likely the cause of crashes, so it's been edited out. So, is there a good method of getting the system to store the column sizes of the visible columns of a grid widget where (for UI
