In ZMF 8.3 when the CMN20 job fails, the package is set to the new status of 'XIN'. If a user attempts to revert the package they receive the following error message: CMN3320A - Packages in XIN status cannot be reverted. Use Backout. If the user attempts to backout the package they receive the following error message which contradicts the previous 'CMN3320A' message: CMN1275A - Status must be BAS for ALL, DEV, or DEVPROD and INS for PROD. Hi, I am using BlueZone v8.1.1 and I have written a Python script to automate an audit workflow.I am using the WaitReady function after sending an attention identifier key and this approach works for the most part. But all of a sudden, the execution will grind to a halt after a while. I've noticed the execution of the script is getting held up on the WaitReady or WaitForReady command, even though there is nothing waiting on the terminal (the status is 'Ready'). This causes the execution of WaitReady to take up to 30 seconds to execute. This then causes every subsequent use of WaitReady or WaitForReady to also take that long despite the terminal status being 'Ready'. I've then noticed that Presentation Space is Busy is then returned from the function even though the terminal isn't busy UPDATE: I'm starting to see this issue with SendKeys function now as well.. What am I doing wrong? Hi guys, yesterday i put a question on  Micro Focus Visual COBOL Discussions, (look at end of this post **) Blair Mcdonald suggest asking here... let me summarize: installed Object Cobol on debian, never used since purchase (2002).  all is working, but in accept i have bell and 'That keystroke has no meaning here'. Seems the program gets some strange input.. Then it stops regularly for user data, bua the same thing happens on any accept... using PuTty in telnet with TERM=ansi from the PC side it does not happen?! With out Terminal emulator (Ericom) we have this problem. I have checked the dialog with tcpdump (see listing) with a small program... Please have a look and tell me why the cobol program send the error message, without receiving any input... I know that the product is old etc etc, but where should be a way to exlain the thing and fix it.. Let me know any needed info. Thanks in advance. When setting up a data resource, and mapping dictionary items to the REST interface, seems like I'm only able to map one field at a time that points to a given attribute, in my case it's attribute 0.  We have composite ids, and have multiple dict items that point to attribute 0 with some conversions that pull out what that particular dict item needs.  Problem is that when I try to select say _id (attr 0) and other dict items that point to attr 0, it is deselecting the other dict items when I select a new one.  I'd like to have multiple of these at the same time, but not sure how to do that if it's possible.  In my screen shot, I'd like to select _id, sys_date and sys_time but can't seem to get them all checked at the same time.  Any advice welcome. ok, is not visual cobol related, but the previous object cobol product. since 1987 we developed application for aix, then with the version for msdos we successfullly ported some application.. we used very basic part of the product, no screen section, accept/display standard. in lan and wan using terminal emulator (ericom) we never had problems. In 2002 we purchased the linux version of the product, but it went asleep till now... Installed a debian 64bit (last version) with some struggle with os library x32, we get the cobol run on linux.    using the same emulator seems all ok, except for this strange behaviour: the accept sound the bell, and claims 'That keystroke has no meaning here'. Obviously no data was typed... after the message the data accept is normally done, but every field the bell and the message are replied. I am looking for some help, any guy out there is available?

We have legacy code in visual cobol (I believe the currently running code was compiled against VC 3.0, but not certain). I am trying to get it running compiled against VC10, but I'm facing runtime issues. After a lot of debugging I seem to have narrowed the issue down. The basic flow is this: The host application (VB.NET) calls a managed cobol method. The managed cobol method invokes a method in a another managed cobol class. The second cobol class makes a Call to a non-managed cobol program. The second cobol class completes and returns to the first. The first managed cobol method makes a call to another non-managed cobol program. Status: New IdeaThe current backout process makes no distinction between newly delivered and existing components. E.g., if a package contains a new module (i.e. it was baselined for the first time with the package to be backed out), then it does not exist yet in the backup dataset for that library type. During the backout the process tries to restore the previous version of the module, regardless of whether it exists in the backup or not. The file tailoring is using ISPF table &STGLTYP.CPYTB to create the list of components. This does not cause big issues for the copy step (IEBCOPY will simply print a warning message that the component does not exist in the dataset and continue). But if other postprocessing steps are involved, e.g. CICS NEWCOPY using CMNCICS1, then the process fails since it will try to NEWCOPY a component that no longer exists. We are being tasked with moving our development and testing accounts off our primary Linux box and putting them on two other Linux boxes.  The problem is we have a number of global files that are shared by all accounts. Can UniData be configured on box A to read and write to box B and or C? Can UniData be configured on box A to run programs on box B? What are the issues to expect? Customer is running Unidata 7.2. I am running Unidata 8.3.Looks like Universe is able to calculate the distance between 2 points with GCDISTANCE(). I don't see this on Unidata. After applying PH52983: New Function: Added z Integrated Information Processor eligibility in IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python 3.11, IBM Python supports deriving workload to ZIIP processors. However, we are using the Python supplied with Rocket z/OS Miniconda.  Does it support the use of ZIIP? If not...
