Hi, This is Keerthana. I'm Senior Software Engineer in TP project at Mitra Innovations. Currently, we are attempting to establish a connection between U2 Python and native Python. Our concern is that what we have done first is used UOPY module to access the subroutine and data file in BP source in XDEMO account using session. But U2 python does not require a session because the u2py module is included in the XDEMO account. But if we want to connect U2 python and native python there must be a configuration or session right? Can we connect this without using a session? Or are there other ways? We checked the .pyconfig file in the UV and tried changing the path to PYHOME and PYLIB there. But we are unable to connect. So Now we are thinking for the connection purpose we can use the any middle ware, Like MVIS. I'm not sure our thought is correct or not. HelloI am trying to install Micro Focus Enterprise Developer 9.0 on Windows Server 2022, but I have an issue. I have checked all requirements stated in documentation related to windows installation, everything is fine. The error is :"Service 'Micro Focus Directory Server' () failed to start. This is a two part question to solve one problem. The first part; does a called subroutine use a new block of memory and address pointer? If so, doe this newly created memory clock have to wait for a time slice before it is processed? Also if the same sub is called multiple times, will use the already created block of memory?Part two; is it possible that calling a subroutine can break a phantom to the point of failure?We suspect our over night phantom process is dying because a tracing file we update with a small sub is killing the phantom.I personally do not, nor have I ever, actually known a phantom to die, because of repeated sub calls. However, we have to investigate the possibility.Thanks,SJJ  

Status: DeliveredChanges have been made to deliver this requirement and the changed code will be seen in ZMF 8.3 patch1. REXX exit users will not need to change anything, the REXX longMsg variable will now allow for up to 512 bytes of usable data (you can put as much as you like into longMsg but only the first 512 bytes will be used). LE exit users will have to, at minimum, recompile their exits to pick up changed copybooks supplied with ZMF 8.3 patch1. If LE users have no need of messages longer than 128 bytes they can continue to use the existing xxxxLONG fixed length fields. If they need more room then they must put a blank in the xxxxLONG field and then proceed to use the new xxxxXLON varchar fields which will accept up to 512 bytes of data. Hi All, We have some CALLX programs saving audit data for certain master files. Function system(45) returns the calling program name but that is always the name of the CALLX program. System(33) is supposed to also return a program name but is always empty. Is there a way to retrieve the "chain" of calling programs - similar to check.pibs but without having to understand 2000 lines of deep code! Also a way to see if the item was updated in the editor/UP as opposed to in a program? Any tech ideas welcome. We use BEL=CHAR(7) to make a beep on errors.  We would like to have the ability to have 2 beeps or 3 beeps, but multiple beeps get combined into one.  I have only been able to get multiple beeps by adding SLEEP 2 between the BEL's.  Is there another way to get more than one beep to come through? Hi All, I wonder if anyone has ever tried to create an SBXA Character Screen with more than 80x25 characters. I have tried the following: Terminal definition in SBXA Standard and Condensed Column/Row 132/43 Terminal setup in SBClient Wyse60 with 132X43 In principle, everything works, although I have to edit the screen definition with the screen editor to enter the window coordinates 0,0,131,41 because in /SD it isn't accepted. However, the problem is that not all characters are displayed correctly. For example, in the screen I created for testing purposes, texts are not outputted from line 20 onwards, but the field contents are still visible. It seems that something with the cursor Addresing goes wrong by trying this hack... I know I'm pushing the boundaries of SBXA with this, but I want to give it a try to gain some time until we have the replacement of character screens with GUI ready.. Hi, I have a very simple program to upload a file from the PC to Linux host.  I'm trying to use FTS and the seems to go through the process of uploading but the routine never exits it just hangs once it gets to 100% transfered. I use UniVerseSQL a lot. The absence of the equivalent of TSQL's Replace() function was a handicap so I wrote a wrapper function for BASIC EREPLACE() and added it to the Global Catalog. We've made some strides in the Installation/Upgrade of our newer Rocket DevOps portal (RDOp).  From the inclusion of more requisite packages to better message handling, the process has made it much easier to install or upgrade the portal on the IBM i or Linux. After the installation, there are a few 'admin' items that need to be addressed prior to getting the users in the pool.  While our guide calls them out here, I'm including a brief summary below with some screenshots to ease the process and get you on your feet. This is a general question regarding using Test Driven Development in Universe Basic. Has anyone used this to develop their software and is there a testing framework that can be used? I have been asked to try it out and have only found information using object oriented programming languages. So far, I have created an ASSERT function and have started implementing test cases.
