Hi all, we have many web aplications invoqued from some users via unirpc, and sometimes we are out of available licences for interactive users, are there a way in universe to limit the number of connections that each user can start?

Nevermind, figured it out. Apparently this forum is an excellent rubber duck. If some kind soul at Rocket would add SQL.WLONGVARCHAR and SQL.WVARCHAR to ODBC.H that would be very nice.

In the world where OpenDB can write D3 data to (say) an Oracle Table, have any of you had the experience to (for whatever reason) write from Oracle to D3? In other words – (say using the ODBC) - I can use SQL statements to INSERT/UPDATE and DELETE a row; this "instruction" is driven from the Oracle side in order to facilitate a D3 file (record) to be modified (WRITTEN TO / UPDATED / DELETED). How do you deal with the aspect of Multivalued fields – the D3 SQL documentation is a little flaky IMO and there are no real examples of what I wish to achieve and that is to INSERT/UPDATE a value within a MULTIVALUE (defined) attribute. The “safe” alternative is to write to a “normalised” D3 table and then have a function in D3 to sort things out! I'd like to know how you may have solved this in a more elegant manner. It is often tempting to assume that because a specific ZMF module writes output stating that it is running at a certain version, that must be the definitive version of the product that is in use. We have hundreds of desktops running wIntegrate version 6.4.4.  After migrating to RHEL we want to find an easy method to enable SSO for all our desktops with wIntegrate.   We would like to run an automated script (using powershell or something) to update all our desktops so we don’t have to update each desktop individually, but the manual states that you cannot edit the session .wic files with a text editor because the files are in a binary format… that you need to use the wIntegrate Editor to edit the .wic files.  This doesn’t sound like something that can be easily automated. We have experimented with using a text editor (Notepad++) to update a .wic file before, and wIntegrate seems to properly recognize the changed setting... so it seems feasible that an automated powershell script could find and update all .wic files with a new setting.  Has anybody else had success updating settings in a wIntegrate .wic session file without using the wIntegrate editor to comp

i'm using 10.0.1 runtime on windows platform and basic pattern matching seems to work fine but if I try something that uses the logical OR operator (|) it fails to match.  For example, this expression works (matches on "test 2, test1"):  test2.*test1 This one doesn't find any matches (should at least match the above example):  test1|test2 My runtime-exp-flg is set to 1 to ignore case which works on the first example.  I have also tried 0, 3,5, 11. I realize part of the challenge is my regex skills but if anyone has good example of it working or suggestions, I would appreciate it.  #extend#AcuCobol

We are trying to update to Visual Cobol DevHub 8.0 (Patch Update 9) from DevHub 7/DevHub 6. and we are getting below error when compiling a cobol program. The program or the compilation script is not changed and module is getting compiled without any error in DevHub 6 and 7. Even in DevHub 8 the module is getting compiled without any program errors but when creating .o file, below error is displayed. Good Day, I am trying to build some APIs using Legasuite but I am getting some unusual errors and I am seeking advice. The first is a simple API that displays different information based on the request. The API will var out the variables from the screen.I have recorded this API step by step and when I step through the API in Legasuite, it works perfect. However, when I run it as " live gateway test" I get the these errors interchangeably - Unexpected unidentified screen error or "java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException".    The second API works when ran as a "live gateway test" but it does not detect fields within the API to enter the data even though the screen is properly identified and the fields. It should be noted that it works when ran as the gateway test but only when deployed to the SIT environment doest his issue occurs and the API always fail.   It should be noted that these APIs are on the same connector and that there are other APIs with these APIs and those work perfect.

Hello everybody,   I'm facing the challenge to replace (periodically) unicode characters from UTF8-coded files into useful ascii characters in order to store them in an ISO database.   My first idea was working with a database translation table.  But a large DBTT results in poor performance. Additionally I faced the problem that I should use a "W" packingcode and this doesn't work with DBTT.   So we decided to do the replace "manually" at runtime with a "small" uniface proc after getting a $procerror -300 from a validatefield.   I assume one or two of you has had the same problem before and could successful solve it. Does anybody of you have a (ready and proven) translation file or script for this purpose and would like to share it with us? I've searched a lot the web but couldn't find anything helpful for me.    Best regards and looking forward to a reply. Using Putty to access 2 different z/OS 2.4 images; Putty settings are same for each session save for the target IP address. On system with bash 4.2.53(2) backspace behavior works normally - content is deleted and cursor key backs up on screen to reflect that.  On system with bash 5.1.0(1) backspace deletes content from the buffer (but not the screen) and the cursor moves forward (sometimes more than a single character's worth).  On both systems using the native IBM supplied shell backspace works fine both before entering  bash and after exiting so the unexpected behavior seems to be pointing to bash 5.1.0(1).  Any pointers on where to look or what to change appreciated.  ------------------------------Karl HufSenior Vice President, Mainframe SupportNorthern Trust CompanyChicago IL US------------------------------

Just an information request. Is there anywhere a document that lists the extent to which Visual COBOL adheres to the ANSI/ISO COBOL standards? Obviously COBOL 85. But what about 2002, 2014 and 2023? I know that MF produced Object Oriented support (Object COBOL) but I've not been able to find the extent to which it differed from the standard. I'm not interested in anything related to .NET - essentially Native (not Managed) coding. Thanks

Introduction I've installed the U2.EntityFrameworkCore NuGet package and successfully set up basic queries using my DbContext. Now I've hit a roadblock trying to call Universe subroutines Problem Description With basic CRUD operations functioning as expected using my DbContext, my next challenge is to call Universe subroutines. I can't seem to find clear documentation on how to achieve this when using the U2.EntityFrameworkCore package What You've Tried I've gone through the U2 Toolkit documentation, but it doesn't cover EF Core 6 specific implementations. I've also attempted to manually execute the subroutines using various EF Core methods, without any success. Questions Has anyone successfully called Universe subroutines using the U2.EntityFrameworkCore package with EF Core 6? What is the recommended approach for calling Universe subroutines in this setup? Are there any code samples or tutorials available that cover this specific scenario?
