Hi there, I have questions re. upgrading from VC 2.3.2 to 3 with mf dialog on VS 2015 community edition (1) Can you clarify, is there a VC version 3 add pack for MF dialog system or is everything included? (2) To install VC do I need to uninstall 2.3.2 first? Same question cobol server 2.3.2, addpacks and hotfixes on our production machines? (3) Would you recommend upgrading at this point or should I wait until after the first hot fixes have been released? Is 3 considered stable?   Thanks, Linden  

When I convert my netexpress project to VC, none of my .GSs are attached to the .dlls they belong to.  Do I have a conversion parameter incorrect?

We have both native COBOL and Visual COBOL projects that access ISAM files. A friend of mine who is an ACUCOBOL developer used Acu4GL to turn ISAM files into database tables and then access them as a relational database.  The COBOL code didn't change but behind the scenes Acu4GL turned read and write statements into sequel queries. Also, when a file was opened output, Acu4GL would create a database table instead of an empty ISAM file so he didn't have to spend a lot of time defining database tables. We are looking for a similar product that will work for Micro Focus COBOL. Our application uses about 200 ISAM files, a number of which have multiple record formats, and we are looking for a way to convert them to a database without too much work. Once converted, we want our COBOL read, write, etc statements to be interpreted as sequel queries without having to make code changes. We're looking into Micro Focus Relativity, which might be an option, but it uses ISAM files and

I'm a software developer and consultant. I have an old client that is running a system developed in RM/COBOL (I did much of the development) that I would like to move to a Linux distro. They are currently running on SCO-Unix (version 5.something) using RM-COBOL-85 ver. 2.02.04 runtime. I did a "strings" command on one of the object files and it looks like they are compiled using RM/COBOL-85 2.02 for I-80386 Xenix V. The last compile date was in October of 1989. They access the application using terminal emulation from their desktop PCs. I'm trying to find out what tools I need to do this. I understand that the most recent version of the compiler is RM/COBOL v12. The customer does not need to make any changes to the application, I just want to move them to an environment that is more stable than a twenty-plus year old opsys running on 18 year old hardware. Hi Everyone: I've installed an ActiveX for using with Cobol Wow, but the control itself has many objects with its own Methods,Properties and Events. Unfortunately the wow development tools only show the main object. Is there an way in order to access others objects like CreateObject function we use in VB?. I have a specification to call a stored procedure which accepts a Table type as one of the parameters. Hello. I have AcuCOBOL in Ubuntu, using AcuThin to connect to the server from Windows PCs. Sometimes energy goes wrong and shut downs wifi routers, so users disconnect from the server, and leave the licenses "in use" (socket connecton error). I want to remove these orphaned users from the session without restart the server. If you ask why I'm asking for this, I'm the new sysadmin of my enterprise, but because the last one got fired, I'm clueless about how to use and maintain this software, because the last sysadmin left no manual, neither documentation. Been using IDX4 data configuration in some of my applications BUT apparently it won't go any big compared to IDX8. However I find that IDX8 is much more vulnerable to corruption (well, mostly on desktop/PC power failure interruptions). Is any of you experiencing the same?#netexpress#DataLimitation

The documentation gives the impression that the web-browser control works with the IE version installed on the client: For the control to work, your users must have Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 4.0 or later on their machine. But I don't think that's true. The web-browser shows IE7 and this is not even installed on my computer, I'm working with Windows10 and IE11. My question is: Can you set or have you infuence on the IE version that the browser-control is using ? Thanks.
