Hi, Is it possible in VISUAL COBOL V2.2 to activate the Cursor postion in Screen Section by a simple clieck over the fields. Still now we are activating the Screen fields using TAB or Arrow Key function. Dear Chris, We stil have the same problema witk ADISCF in AIX 7.1. When we try toa alter the PFKeys funtion  we didn´t have the same that we have in ADISCF for Windows. Por example in Windows we have PF2, PF8, PF2 but in AIX 7.1 We have PF2,  then PF8 ,But here the PF8 Option have diferent  things like Figure enclosed. Please say to Us How to  do the same that we do in Windows  in AIX 7.1 for alter the PFKey Functions.   Regards,   PJM

Is there any function is avialable in VISUAL COBOL to calculate the Field-Length. We are actually facing one problem like where cursor is blinked on SCREEN-SECTION we are not able to capture the total length of the Cursor. I have tried with X"A7" feature but no luck. I have just started using Visual Cobol in Microfocus Visual Studio 2012. My code needs to read records and update an array named 'ItemsField' in a web service reference file(See attached Word file for layout of the input file and the web service references file). The array I want to populate is described as having  'occurs any' and is named 'ItemsField' in the web service references file. My question is: How do I add data to this array and update the number of occurs?

We do have a visual COBOL solution(contains 9 different projects) which is accessed from a .net application. While building the Visual COBOL solution in release mode, the 9 dlls for each project is created in bin directory of each project. Can you please provide us step by step procedure for deploying the dlls in the COBOL server. Which in turn .net application can access the Visual COBOL dlls, deployed in the COBOL server. I am getting this error on one particular XP SP2 machine, but everything runs fine on other XP and Win 7 machines. I have never some across this before, is it complaining about wrun32 or the .acu program, and how do I get around the problem? For what its worth we are using 8.1.3 runrime

I have a 01 data field defined as external within a program because the data is used by many programs and I did not want to pass it from program to program (this is a .net project).  When I am in debug mode, I can not do a quickwatch on any field in the data record.  I says 'Unable to evaluate expression'.  Can you not view external defined data area?

I saw a post on how to get MF Visual Cobol to print to a USB printer, instead of the default LPT1. However, it was not as descriptive as I would have hoped. Since I have not worked with Cobol since 1995 and went into the business world using Fortran after that class, I never found the need to set environment variables. I also never used MF Cobol before now. The one post states to create a file called cobconfig.cfg and then set the cobconfig environment variable to point to that file. Well, I have tried a couple of ways on my own and could not get it to set the environment variable of cobconfig and work. Any help that someone can provide in getting the cobconfig environment variable to work in MF Visual Cobol for Visual Studio 2012 would be greatly appreciated. Is there any way to generate KeyStroke programatically to move cursor control to the next field. The same feature was handled by the TAB key. Client's requirement is to validate each of the fileds in the screen and if validation success it automatically highlight the next fileds. During validation control is back to the program level but how again is it possible to retrieve the screen with very next field activated. We are using XBIS 9.2.0 on Windows, have installed on a couple of different machines successfully. We have set up IIS on many machines over the years without issue - IIS always installs with the root folder as \\InetPub\\wwwroot. Doing our first install at a customer site, and on that computer it seems the default IIS folder is under \\InetPub\\vhosts and not under \\Inetpub\\wwwroot.  However, AcuXBIS still installed under \\InetPub\\wwwroot.  As a result, not even the samples will run for XBIS.  To make matters worse, the server we're installing on is running Windows in German, so wading through error messages and screens using google translator is tedious at best. Google searches trying to understand the use of \\InetPub\\vhosts leads me to believe that IIS is set up with multiple virtual websites, but at bottom, I just need to know how to install XBIS to run in this environment. I am getting this error running on a 64 bit Win 7 machine. I have never come across this before. The application runs on other 64 bit Win 7 machines. When customers are installing NetExpress it is important that they have Full Admin rights. Most of the customers will say yes I do, but if you ever come across some error such as; Error: Micro Focus License Manager Service is not running; Looking into Services you will see that the MF License Manager is missing. Cause: This error happen when launching NetExpress there is a chance that the customer has moved their product to a different machine and has not rights for the Registry- it is important that they do have right for the Registry as the software require to write in the registry when installing the product. In previous wrap-pack such as NX 5.1_base customer will not get any error during the installation, but with most recent wrap pack such as WP6 when customer install the product will get an error indicating that the Registry Key: SOFTWARE\\Micro Focus\\NetExpress\\5.1\\XDB\\2.0\\XDB Server cannot be written. Resolution: Please make sure that they have fully access to the Registr

Problem:  Net Express must be installed with Full Administrator rights and with full access to the Registry. Failing to do so may cause the following error to occur when launching Net Express: Micro Focus License Manager Service is not running. When opening Windows Services to start the service, the Micro Focus License Manager is missing. From WrapPack 6 onwards, if Net Express is being installed with insufficient rights, an error will indicate that the Registry Key: SOFTWARE\\Micro Focus\\NetExpress\\5.1\\XDB\\2.0\\XDB Server cannot be written. However, in older versions, such as NX 5.1_base, this error does not show during installation. Every time I open NE 5.1 and start the Animator, the 'Watch List' window is on a different position. Is it possible to save the position of the window, without docking it?

Hi, please help  I am working on Micro Focus Net Express V5.104.0083. we execute Cobol programs using command "run.exe  <cobol program>.dll", where .dll is compiled cobol program. i dont know whether this run.exe is proprietary program of the net express suite or created by somebody else within my company. Now this run.exe command is returning error code 66 sometimes. not every time. i want to know if this run.exe is part of Microfocus Net express, if so what does return code 66 mean? if its not part of Net Express, how do cobol programs are executed in general.
