Posted an A80 ABS patch for D3 Linux and D3 AIX 10.2 on the Rocket Community portal.  The two new fixes included in this patch from the last ABS patch posted for D3 Linux and D3 AIX 10.2 are:
  • Corrects a problem where a RETURN statement that had no prior GOSUB or CALL did not produce a runtime error.
  • Corrects a problem with Update Protection which could cause GFEs when using DB-PAUSE under certain conditions.

Monitor patch M5 was just posted today for D3 Linux 10.3.3:

Patch: Monitor Patch M5

Corrects a problem with OSFI, which could cause a RFSE when continuing to access a file after the server timeout period but before the port completely wrapped up.

Corrects a problem introduced by the fix D3-68186, that would cause signals not to be handled properly when connecting via Python.

An M16 monitor patch for D3 Linux 10.2 was just posted to the Rocket Community Portal D3 Downloads section. From the patch notes:

D3-69608, M16, Corrected a problem with the pib and/or interface that was inefficient and taking too much time. This impacts logoff, spooler operations, startup and shutdown.

Folks, this is a good one. When I was testing it I saw a significant improvement in those areas. The patch was originally made to address instances where jobs were not leaving the PEQS print job queue in a timely fashion in cases where there are hundreds of shared printers defined. I saw an improvement where the delay is now less than a third of what it was before M16. The other areas ( logoff, startup, shutdown ) are collateral benefit.

This patch will soon be available for D3 Linux 10.3.3 as M6, but we're still testing it. Please note that this patch is for D3 Linux only, not D3 Windows, and I'm not sure about D3 AIX.

Yes, M16 introduced a lot of improvements. But while testing the M6 patch for 10.3.3, we found a vulnerability that also affected M16, so we pulled M16 and are currently testing M17 which should be posted in a very short time. If you're already running M16, I see no reason to back it out as the chances of hitting the vulnerability are REALLY small. But if you haven't loaded M16 yet, I would recommend that you wait for M17 to hit RCP.

It booted D3??? Hmmm. Not supposed to do that. Never did it for me.

I just tested it again and D3 did NOT boot after "Install with Current Settings" in D3_setup. Is D3 configured to start when Linux boots on your system?

Please note that the D3 Linux 10.3.M7 and 10.2.M17 patches have been taken down from RCP. Yesterday we found a weird problem with logging off a phantom that was jacked due to an OSFI failure. Engineering is working on this now, and soon there will be an M8 and an M18. If you're not experiencing any problems at the moment, I wouldn't go through the effort of backing down to M5 or M15. But I would not recommend applying M7 or M17 on any systems currently not patched to that level.

Please note that the D3 Linux 10.3.3.M8 and 10.2.M18 monitor patches have been posted. These contain fixes for timing and logoff stuff that was introduced in the now-pulled M7 and M17 patches. There is also an A11 ABS patch for 10.3 with a 10.2 patch soon to follow. Patch release notes:

ABS:

D3-69496 - Corrected a problem with LOGOFF in which the source PIB can sometimes fall into the virtual debugger when the process is still attached.

Monitor:

D3-69748 - M8 - Corrected a problem with the timing of the logoff command introduced in the 10.2.M17 and 10.3.M7 patches that caused the logoff not to escalate if the PID for the line had already gone away.
D3-69645 - M7 - Corrected a regression caused by the M6 monitor patch with the installation of D3 without SSL and Crypto libraries, that would fail to link the D3 executable.
