I've got a friend who's looking to generate PDFs from D3 that include an image ( a company logo for an invoice ) and a barcode. Barcodes can be accomplished by using PCL which is understood by most if not all PDF printers/converters, but the image is a little trickier. I've done it before using PCL Tools but that was a long time ago. I understand Print Wizard  can do this, but I have no experience with Print Wizard. Hello, I've run into a strange issue where I'm trying to wrap the d3 C functions so I can use them from nodejs. Everything compiles fine but the _CP_logon function hangs in node but not when I run it outside of node. stracing showed that there was a segmentation fault that was causing it to hang and I'm guessing something weird might be happening with the C memory that _CP_mkstr allocates and node's memory. After running my addon in valgrind, it looks like there might be a memory bug somewhere deeper down.I ended up being able to duplicate the issue in it's most simple form by running valgrind against the cdemo project that comes with d3. I think the root issue is that there might be a double free error somewhere in pick_init or maybe a null deref (I have basically 0 experience with C so take this all with a heaping of salt).I built cdemo using gcc 7.3 and then ran it valgrind and I see the following error which is the same error that I get through node. Recently a support case came in asking if there was an OCONV option to determine the week of the year of a passed date. Yes, but the whole D3 system and PICK before it was built independent of the operating system. We have moved our software from R83, AP/PRO, Mandrake, Mandriva and finally CentOS simply by backing up and thenrestoring it on the new system. New hardware, new OS and a couple of hours later, all up and running and back in business. D3 Product Manager @Tim Rude sat down with @Robert Burke, recently reunited with Rocket via the Zumasys transaction, to update him on new developments with D3 and the product direction moving forward. Apache Log4j vulnerability (CVE-2021-44228) - Critical As the Apache Log4j vulnerability (CVE-2021-44228) was disclosed on Dec 09, 2021, your MV teams have been actively monitoring the issue and assessing its impact on the MV products.    The following MV products have been impacted. Product impact and next steps are detailed below.   MV BASIC for VS Code: MV BASIC for VS Code v1.3.0 and prior contains and uses a version of Log4j that can potentially be exploited by this vulnerability.  We have therefore upgraded the Log4j version in MVVS 1.3.2 to v2.16.0 to resolve this issue and advise that you to upgrade by downloading the latest extension on the Visual Studio Code Marketplace.   NOT IMPACTED: The following MV products DO NOT contain any version of Log4j, OR contain a version of Log4j that is not impacted by the vulnerability:   MV Application Servers: UniVerse UniData D3 OpenQM mvBase jBASE   Server Tools: U2 DB Tools U2 Common Clients U2 Toolkit for .NET   Tools: MVX MVIS MVConnec

I just found that if you have enqueuing enabled on the primary ( FHB-ON (A ) and you also are logging all files ( FHB-ALLFILES-ON )  before using FSIHOTBACKUP to set up the primary queue ( FSIDM,FHB,P ), once you create the queue, an item with a null item ID is written to the FHB,P file along with two other items with the IDs 2 and 3. The presence of the null-item-ID item exposes a bug in the dequeuing mechanism on the secondary which manifests itself as a variable unassigned error in the fhb_GetQueueIndexes subroutine on the secondary server. The subroutine keeps looping around to the same error and dequeuing never starts.Engineering is aware and will be making some changes to the code, but in the meantime if you run into this, simply DELETE FSIDM,FHB,P "" and restart the secondary servers. We found an issue in OpenDB in which an attempt to manipulate an SQL table that only has a primary key and no additional columns fails. A known-issues post will be made in the Rocket Community OpenDB Downloads section as follows:Known Issues:OpenDB cannot be used against an SQL table that contains only a primary key and no other columns as this causes an error in the WHERE clause of the SELECT statement.This has only happened to one customer who worked around the issue by adding a dummy column to the table. I've never seen this before and seriously doubt I ever will again.One must ask one's self: "Why the heck would one have an SQL table with a primary key and no data?" i just started working at a d3 shop after working with U2 for years. I am very surprised that D3 does not have the U2 AE editor. That AE editor makes it a breeze to view and modify VM and SVM data. I do not understand why it not available.
