Rocket® D3® and jBASE®

Hi All Perhaps a short one, but can someone please confirm that the super Q pointers ONLY work across D3 installations with THE SAME rev version? Assuming the hosts file has been setup correctly for this exercise . IOW, I should NOT expect to communicate (as via a LIST verb) to D3 machine A (where A is D3 version 10.x) and an older D3 version (say 7.x).I am able to do same 7.x to 7.x - that's OK BUT NOT 10.x to 7.xJust require confirmation. Or is there a solution which I don't know of?Thanks

Hi all - any advice here, please? (or please explain my "potential" misunderstanding :) I am experiencing difficulties in understanding why when attempting to use the D3 SQL ISQL commands. I have this version : On executing: which I checked in the code and the code looks for an implementation > 8. Furthermore, from the documentation I see that there is a NT_ISQL verb; which I also attempted  This one just drops to TCL - the code looks for (field function) a '~' separator which I give: And then things get "pear-shaped"

I'm a very small shop, only 9 employees.  I recently brought my D3 server back in house after a stint in the cloud.  I'm running D3 on AlmaLinux.  The hardware is an HP Z2 workstation with an i5-12500 6 core processor, 16GB Ram and 2 SSD's.  I do most of my tech support myself, but sometimes farm some work out to a local IT support company, Top Notch.  They're recommending I switch to / embrace virtualization and recommending Windows Server with Hyper-V.  I'm not a big fan of Windows and no next to nothing about virtualization, but I've seen posts about the benefits.  I'm just wondering if the Windows Server is the best solution for me. Any thoughts? TIA, Bruce

Hi everyone,How can I use d3py in my Python applications outside of my "d3 box"?I mean, I have created a Python application in my d3 server, and it runs fine using the import d3py, but I want to use it in my Web Server to create my Web App or API endpoint, I have errors to importing d3py outside from my d3server, it says not found the module d3py.How can I implement a Python application with d3py outside of my (D3/Win) Pick server box? It doesn't work moving manually the files or making a map drive.Thank you,

Hi,I need to increase space on a customer's D3 Linux 10.2.0. Current disk statement in Pick0:rawdisk offdisk /dev/mapper/rhel-pick 0 209612800 # disk 0They have added a new partition to the VM - so 2 questions.First is it as simple as running the D3setup utility,  adding the partition, and then restarting D3?Secondly, could we have just increased the current partition?Excuse my ignorance around VMs & virtual disks - used to set up small servers with sda1-4 etc - a bit rusty now! Here's the lsblk lsblk NAME                  MAJ:MIN RM  SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINTfd0                     2:0    1    4K  0 disk sda                     8:0    0  500G  0 disk ├─sda1                  8:1    0    1G  0 part /b

Hello,Has anyone used any of the available migration tools to migrate away from CentOS v7 to either RockyLinux or AlmaLinux?I just came across the AlmaLinux Elevate Project and am wondering if it is worthwhile to try it.As a secondary question, which of the two distributions is preferred?Vincent

Morning allIs there a mechanism which allows me to list the full account name, file name, and item within locks? The issue I am having with LIST-LOCKS is the masking to 19 characters for the account and file names. In most of my cases, 19 characters is not long enough to display the full detail. I need to be able to programmactically read the line in order to programmatically run "UNLOCK-ITEM ACCOUNTNAME,FILENAME, ITEM".Additionally, we run Windows and Linux D3, with .NET front-ends, so I need to be able to use one .NET codebase to unlock items on Windows and D3 Linux. It appears that each environment's display is different. In Windows, the filename is truncated due to the length of the account name, and in Linux, it does not display the account name.Windows:FSI Filename        PIB#  Lvl  Type  Item-id             TokenFMCG.DNFDATA,mpcont   12    0  VME   008845           &

Hi allSimple question here on callx - D3 on Windows:I'm trying to do a simple "catch" whenever someone edits a file. So, I write a simple subroutine and compile it and flash compile with 'o' option (per documentation) I add the call to attribute 8 in the dict entry of the file: and proceed to ed(it) an item expecting my subroutine to trigger - but it doesn't WHY? Is there anything I'm missing? The subroutine is: (really complex :)) I'll just leave this here for constructive comment - ThanksStefano

Are there any recorded d3 python webinars available?   I have searched for it and can't find any.  Not sure if i am looking in the right areas. Thanks,Bill

have three of these error messages this morning.   Guessing it has something to do with my enabling callx?unix_GetUserLogonMode [82] Your system privilege level is not sufficient for this statement. Both users have sys1 level set. Thanks for any help in understanding the error message.Craig

I'm trying to conditionally compile some code but I can't seem to get the IFDEF to work. This is the source code below, I would expect to see 'Not defined.' but running the program results in 'Defined' being printed. This D3 10.2.2 on Windows if that helps.*$IFDEF PLATFORM.D3PRINT 'Defined.'$ELSEPRINT 'Not defined.'$ENDIF*PRINT 'Always print'Thank you

Morning All (It's still morning in Africa!),A customer wants to tighten up their firewalls and remove redundant rules.I like the ability to auto activate so would appreciate some education on which ports need to be allowed to facilitate this. Thanks in advance,Tom Power

Hello,We are getting the error show below, when we try to connect to MVSToolkit.  It only happens to one of our apps. The problem goes away on its own, if we keep trying to connect for several minutes. Please let me know if you know what may cause this error. Thanks,Chris

Hi,We have used Centos for many years on our customer's servers and are now looking at a replacement.Busy experimenting with Oracle Linux - has anyone any experience with it? It is supposedly a binary replacement for RHEL 8 and has 8.3, 8.4 & 8.5 iso's available.I've loaded 8.5 but am getting the below error with D3_setup - not sure if 8.5 is too bleeding edge or Oracle Linux default repos are different to Centos/Redhat?Any ideas welcomed! No repository match: *d3depends for RHEL/ CentOS 8 - x86_64 [$YUM0] 0.0 B/s | 0 B 00:04 Errors during downloading metadata for repository 'd3depends':- Curl error (9): Access denied to remote resource for ftp://d3mv-repo:d3getRep0@ftp.rocketsoftware.com/RedHatEnterpriseServer/8.5/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml [Server denied you to change to the given directory]Error: Failed to download metadata for repo 'd3depends': Cannot download repomd.xml: Cannot download repodata/repomd.xmlThanksTom Power

Hy... a situation, i need to know what week of the month a date is, for example if it is the 1st week of the month, if the second week of the month, if it is the third week, fourth or fifth week of the month for a specific date, in addition of this I need to know for the same date which is the week of the year.. for example if it is the 20th week of the 21st month so on, looking at the OCONV documentation for the mask date, I found only the options for the day of the week and for quarter of the year. Does anyone have any simpler suggestions to find out this information? for now the only solution I found was to loop for the entire year and calculate this, but this is impractical, as I will have to store a "calendar" in the databasei'm using d3 linux 10.2

Is there any way one can use the Update Editor to insert an SVM ^m  =  am  ;  ^v  =  vm  ;  ^??? = svm (^  =  <ctrl>)

Hi All,Given an item ID such as 001000885$25BIW06GN-1$16407 and a dictionary item such as:001 S002 0003 MONTH004005006007 A;0(G2$1]DMA]T1,3):"-":0(G2$1]DY)008 G2$1009 R010 8A LIST or SORT on the dictionary item returns the correct value "Dec-2012".  However, when this same dictionary item is passed to the SS connective as in LIST ... SS MONTH "01/01/2012" "31/12/2012"  UNITS ..., the value returned is garbage as in "-"  and the totals a single column of all zeroes (we use European date format).Have I structured the dictionary item incorrectly or is there a bug in the SS handling of the dictionary item?Vincent

Just wondering if there is a function for me to send a message to the runtime-errors file?  Trying to debug a program and if I could send a few notes to the runtime-errors file via a function call it would save me a few steps.ThanksCraig

G'day all   Been having some issues with getting the SSL certificate to work with MVS toolkit. We’ve had it working once before, with a massive amount of tweaking within the certificate to get it working. This time we’re moving to a wildcard certificate and despite going through the same steps (and the same tweaking) we’re having no luck.   Has anyone got a wildcard SSL certificate working with MVS Toolkit? And do you have a consistent procedure to get this to work? =================   The main thing is the consistency – so we can do the same thing each time and get it working without stuffing around with it.

Hi All, I am running D3 10.3.1.windows single user on an ASUS X555LAB Lpatop with CPU i5-5200U (2 core, hyperthreading) @ 2.20GHz (peaking 2.60GHz). running Windows 10 Home.   The program I'm running takes 4 hours to run doing full processing to find the end point. When I swap subroutines to use a file which already has the end point pre-processed and do a simple compare, it's only 20 minutes faster. It actually took twice as long with the pre-processed compare until I changed the file to be more efficient.   I have changed settings so that it's supposed to be able to use full CPU in all circumstances. (Advanced Power Options -> Processor Power Management -> Minimum or Maximum Power State = 100% for Battery & Plugged In).   Task Manager no longer allows the changing of program priorities (as you were able to in Windows 7).   My thought is that wither Windows 10 Home or the laptop is throttling D3 because when the program is running, it's using around 35% t
