When a version of Extra! is upgraded to Extra! X-treme 9.6 or higher, it will now automatically use the Reflection Security Components (RSC) for all secure connections (3270, 5250, and Unix and OpenVMS host systems) instead of the legacy-Extra! security modules. When opening multiple Reflection Desktop Host sessions with the .NET API, all the host sessions open in the same Reflection Workspace, instead of individual Reflection Workspaces as expected. NET API application has been written in C#, which uses unique IPC Channel names for launching multiple Reflection “Frames” and is designed to open a Host session in each one. When using this methodology, the unique IPC channel names should cause each Host session to open in its own Reflection Workspace. With Reflection Desktop 16.1 (and Reflection Desktop 16.1 SP1), each host session launched ends up in its own Reflection Workspace. Starting with Reflection Desktop 16.2 (through Reflection Desktop 16.2 Update 4), each host session launched ends up in the same Reflection Workspace, which can cause problems when individual Host sessions are opened and closed. The Installation Customization Toolkit (ICT) is opened using the "setup /admin" command line and can be used to create custom transforms and make edits to the setup.ini file to be used when setup.exe is run. There is a problem where if a key beginning with an upper-case letter is in the [RunPrograms] section of the setup.ini, the key is not recognized and run.A program scheduled to run before the installation of the Reflection or InfoConnect Desktop software via setup.exe will instead run after the installation is complete. This issue will typically occur if a user has manually modified the setup.ini file, whereas the ICT will always save the correct entries in the proper case in the setup.ini file. I've been using Ehlapi32.DLL to interface with Rumba through VBA. I'd like to try using Python to interface with Rumba. When I try to load this DLL through Python, it throws an error because from what I understand it's expecting a 64-bit DLL file. Does Micro Focus provide a 64-bit version of this file that I can use with Python?#Rumba#Python#DLL#EHLAPI32#API

Hi All, Is is possible to change the width of ThisFrame.SelectedView.titleText? Once the titleText gets too long it is automatically truncated - see below. ThisFrame.SelectedView.titleText = "This text is too long and will be automatically resized" #Reflection

Hi All, Is is possible to customize the toobar (not the ribbon) in Reflection Desktop v17.0? For example I want to hide File --> Settings from the user as well as File --> Reflection Workspace settings#Reflection

I am using MicroFocus Rumba (VBA Addon) in a VBA project. On the Excel workbook open event, Rumba is opened, and activated (it is declared as a global object). User also opens another instance of Rumba to verify the details. When "End" is clicked/executed on a Excel Macro, Rumba instance object associated with it gets destroyed. And I need to re-initiate it to be able to run rest of the process. For this purpose I am using GetObject(,"MicroFocus.Rumba") but it does not work and throws an error "ActiveX cant create component", I believe its because it was created in VB(not sure)??. Is there any workaround for it? or other approach to capture the active object?.#Rumba

"The program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem" error appears when loading a Reflection Desktop host session.  Reflection Desktop is installed on a Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 Server PC and the Reflection Workspace loads without error, but the error appears when the host session actually attempts to load. Occasionally and randomly a VHI WebService call running as part of a sequence of Stateful WebService calls failed to run on the stateful session and instead the call resulted in a new session being generated.  The call would then fail on the new session because it was attempting to navigate from the home entity instead of the ending entity of the previous successful call.  Subsequent calls in the sequence would also fail because they were not on the expected entity due to the sequence being out of sync. Hi,  I often have four or more sessions open to multiple environments. When the windows are minimized in the tool bar they all start with "Reflection Workspace..." and after that I have a unique identifier for each window to indicate the environment. In previous versions of the product there was an option to change the Window title so I could see 1,2,3,4, etc and know what session/environment to maximize.  We're using Micro Focus Reflection Desktop for UNIX and OpenVMS Version: 17.0.434.0 Searching under Host Connection for "title" returns Settings > Documents >3-Dev.rdox >Terminal configuration > Display: Set Up Display Settings "Window Title" But when I click and go to "Set Up Display Settings" there isn't a "Window Title" option.  Does anyone know if this functionality was discontinued or have suggestions on how to easily manage multiple environments at once? Thank you! Jeff#SupportTips/SupportTips/KnowledgeDocs#Reflection#UserGroup#TerminalEmulation#Refl

We are in the process of switching to Reflection 17 and in the previous version we used (14.1) we could use the following command to start Reflection and a run a Macro at the same time /C rcrunmacro" + @"(""NewMacros.Test"", "")"" This does not seem to be working in Reflection 17. Does anyone know a command to get the same result? / Thomas#Reflection

I have been receiving the error message "Unknown Rumba Screen Failure". Has anyone received this error message before? Any workarounds/fix?#Rumba

Reflection Desktop for X and Reflection Desktop Pro version 17 include an X server that supports the running of Gnome 3 X clients, including the Gnome 3 desktop. To run these X clients, be sure to use the client and session templates provided with X Manager that include '(GNOME 3+)' in their titles, or for the clients, configure the appropriate host type and command from the drop-down list. These client templates (and drop-down lists) include common commands to launch the clients, and the session templates have the appropriate extensions and other settings configured. If you run X Manager v17 but don't see the templates, click File > Import and browse to the template directory to select linux_gnome3_templates.rxd. The default directory is for the templates is: C:\\Program Files\\Micro Focus\\Reflection\\templates If you have any problems displaying a Gnome 3 desktop, please see the following in the product help:https://www.microfocus.com/documentation/reflection-x/17-0/rxa-plan-inst
