Hi All,We are using Universe 11.3 on Windows.I needed to round a 5DP number up to the Next Whole number, so the result would be ; I could not find a suitable command equivalent to Excel  ROUNDUP, as shown above, so I've manually programmed the required calcs.There does not seem to a be suitable Flag for ICONV / OCONV and INT only grabs the whole numberIs anyone aware of a Function that does what I needed ??Just in case I've missed a  Function, i went through the  UV Basic Command 11,34 pdf guide and could not find anything.However, i spotted in UV Basic Command 12.11 there are 2 x new commands ROUND and also TRUNCWhilst these syntactically don't do what it need, it may help others looking for similar functionality.so as I'd found these new Functions available in V12, it got me thinking, can these new commands be retro applied to earlier versions of UV, obviously I can't just upgrade Universe to access these commands.Secondly as the new to me ROUND function still does no

We have a backup script that suspends and restores writes by going into Universe and setting the SYSTEM()  variable 27/43.  We had a problem when after the script suspended writes the unsuspend failed because user license limits were briefly reached.  What is the best way to recover beyond adding more licenses?

I am using Universe 11.3.4 on a RHEL 7 box. I created a trigger on a file and I can create a log every time the file is changed but I can't figure out what program is making the change.  I can see the @TTY, @LOGNAME, and PARASENTENCE DATA but the FILENAME comes back as a blank. I have a Phantom making some of the changes and the PARASENTENCE is giving me the name of the phantom. Is there anyway I can get the Filename of the BP program?Jon CardCombined Transport Inc​​​​

Has anyone done this with a conversion program or by hand?

i can create an unidata account using ext admin tool just fine but in universe (which is where I came from to unidata) there was a uv account that went to a universe menu where you could add/delete accounts amount  a lot of other things, is this not available in unidata?thanksdougc

I don't understand how MVIS pooled license work. Can I assume that a single pool license can hold a certain number of user licenses for use with MVIS out of all of the user licenses on the system? If I have a single application on my server does it only require a single pooled license? What if for some reason my API call takes longer than expected, does that prevent other users from connecting to MVIS site?How can I calculate the optimum number of pooled licenses I need to effectively run my new MVIS system?Jon

in the past as these are test VM's running rocky linux on my personal laptop I usually just disable the firewall so I can use ext admin tool to create accounts and suchbut if I wanted to keep the firewall up what ports do I need to open up so I can still access via ext admin tool?thanks

Hello everyone,We are planning to upgrade our UniVerse (UV) ERP system this year and also do a hardware refresh. We would like the hardware refresh to include running in a VM (we don't currently). Our current UV system is running on an IBM AIX server with Kaminario flash storage (~2TB) with our largest hashed file being 120GB / 23M records.Looking for any insight or opinions related to getting more speed and performance for UniVerse i.e. stick with AIX or go with another UNIX / Linux? Virtualize or don't virtualize? Nutanix VM or something else? Anything better than flash storage from Kaminario?Thanks in advance!

Hi allSimple question here on callx - D3 on Windows:I'm trying to do a simple "catch" whenever someone edits a file. So, I write a simple subroutine and compile it and flash compile with 'o' option (per documentation) I add the call to attribute 8 in the dict entry of the file: and proceed to ed(it) an item expecting my subroutine to trigger - but it doesn't WHY? We are trying to add a subroutine call from an existing trigger.  The subroutines are definitely being called and acting appropriately, except when they attempt to write to a log file.Using "ED" to make a simple change in order to force the trigger, we are getting this error:Program "ED":  pc = 748C, Program "XXX": LINE 409, FATAL:  The locks necessary for database operations at the current isolation level (0) are not held by this process.The subroutine is trying to write to a type 19 log file which works fine from other programs. Commenting out the log file write avoids the error. Because of this error, the write to the CUST file (which is the one with the trigger) also fails.I assume this is something unique to the trigger function.  The trigger subroutine is cataloged globally as expected, so I am wondering if that is making file access in the account unavailable some how?This is running in UniVerse 11.3.1Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated.Nelson

The installation of MVIS on Linux requires Python3 (and, what is more, a more recent version of Python3 than is included with UV).My question is this: does MVIS require Python for anything other than the installation?

I am no longer able to compile BASIC programs using the Connection.The program I am editing and attempting to compile DOES BELONG TO THE ACCOUNT I AM CONNECTED to, but this error has began recently. I'm not aware of any changes (perhaps VS Code extension updated?)Any steps I can take to troubleshoot and/or workaround this issue? NOTE: this is only a problem with v1.8.0  I reverted back to 1.7.0 and this issue has gone.

Hi All,Is there a way from ECL to generate a list of all indexes on all files? (And the index attributes)I know I can do a LIST.INDEX FN at the ECL prompt file by file, and I could script running through all VOC records that are files, but I cant seem to pipe and append this ouput to a text file. I have setup a subroutine endpoint to my database but on trying to perform a POST action in an intranet webpage it is getting a CORS error and going through a preflight.  Is there a way to configure the server to allow cross origin?nb. MVIS and apache are running on the same machine

I have used AccuTerm in limited fashion, (text boxes and lists), in my character based systems.  I would like under the GUI AccuTerm to make the conversion behave as now.  Example from events management:  Customer demographics enter customer number or keyword which brings up a list of customers.  I can see this clearly in the DEMO examples.  Change prompt for customer demographics I invite an <O>ptions and display a little window offering options like <R>entals.  If selected it lists the customers existing rentals.  Selecting a rental the calls the rental summary screen with options.  The <B>uildings option lists buildings on the rental.  Selection of a building shows the details of the building portion of the rental, offers options, one is <I>tems which allows entry of table, chairs, etc.  I can see the in CM the forms DETAIL, LOGIN, and MAIN all in the same program.  The event management would require 7 fo

Hi,   I have two MV basic source tables in an account at the Universe server, let's say, account ACC_1 and source files BP_A and BP_B. I created a GitHub repository for each of them, and cloned them at my local machine.  I could successfully compile and catalog from MVVS BP_A sources, but then, when I opened BP_B folder in MVVS, I can't no longer compile from any of the tables. It keeps giving me the same error:  Compiling: Source = BP_B/SOURCE_FILE_X -----> Compilation ignored.The account to which the file belongs does not match the account connected to the server  When looking at the log, I can see that it is considering BP_B as the account instead of ACC_1.   How can I configure MVVS to be able to compile and catalog from any of the source files?  Should I have one local folder for the account, with subfolders for each source file?  Where does MVVS look for the account when compiling?  Any help appreciated  Regards  Enri

Hi,  I just installed the MV Basic VS Code Extension. I could open a Git folder with Basic programs, connect to the U2 server, and compile!   But I have a problem. The source file is not BP, has another name, and every program I open is recognized as "Plain Text". I have to click on "Plain Text" and then select "Rocket MV Basic" as language.  Is there any place where I should indicate the association to all the programs in the folder?  Regards,  Enrique

I am running Universe 11.3.4 on RHEL 7.7 using AccuTerm 7.3a as my emulator. When I login normally my backspace works. I need to use root permission for some of my phantoms. At TCL prompt I will SH to Unix level then su to root then uv back to universe. My backspace key quits working.  I can manually fix it by running a PTERM command. Hi, I configured the plugin to connect to my Unidata server, but I keep getting: "Failed to connect account". This is a remote server on my network. Also I'm aware I cannot modify the programs directly on the server. Is there a log that I can check to see what is the problem?  We also have some custom rpc service name, could that be a problem?I just want to be able to access the catalog programs so the GOTO Definition works, same for the include statements.Any help is greatly appreciated.Alejandro

I have created a REST service using MVIS, which will "listen" for inbound calls.Can it also be used to send outbound REST calls, or would that require a U2 program to utilize BASIC host subroutines (like createSecureRequest, etc.)  outside of MVIS?

I have a UniVerse customer, a county highway department.  Over the years we have accumulated a lot of lat/lon coordinates for different resources.  I would like to propose adding a GIS interface to the system.  My question, has anyone already done this to any multi value database and can you suggest products to research?  I have looked, a little, at ArcGIS because they have some low cost online training.
