When you have Managed WinForms Program A invoking Managed WinForms Program B, and both are in variable source format as shown by the VS editor when editing each individually... and you are running in Debugging mode... when A invokes B and you are transitioned over to B... it appears in the old fixed Source format, with the right margin area greyed out... The following code generated the CRLF and FFLF correctly as 2 bytes. However the TAB also generated 2 bytes  with the first byte being set to <null>... Question is how do I generate a single byte using the technique below or is there another way ? 78 CRLF              value x"0D0A". 78 FFLF               value x"0C0A". 78 TAB                  value x"09". Is there a way to set specific tabs is Visual Cobol?  Such as at 7, 8, 12, and 72.  Under Tools/Options/Text editor/Micro focus cobol, the tabs button does not seem to give choices like that.

Hi All ,  Does Unit Test Framework only works for Native Cobol codes ? I tried using mfurun for Managed COBOL codes but i am unable to execute the scripts. What are the other limitations ? Can i used on Character based screens ?

Hello, I have a datagrid with a sub-datagrid where the data of the sub-datagrid are displayed when I click on one of the main lines datagrid (Figure 1).When I change (for example) the type of document to consult, the application has to re-record the data from datagrid and sub-datagrid.Then gives the error "NullReferenceException was unhandled". Hello: I have an event in datagrid (method-id dgridRubricas_MouseDoubleClick) that works perfectly when I click with the mouse in a cell. It turns out that when I click the mouse on the scroll bar to move down to the remaining data visualization, and make very fast, is considered a MouseDoubleClick and gives the following error "Null Reference Exception was unhandled". I copied a solution with a .Net WPF project from one system to another. Now I get the following errors on the receiving system: COBCH0002 : Undefined ECM error. Inform Technical Support. Error code 12. COBCH0038 : Paragraph or phrase repeated illegally The errors points to the ‘getter’ keyword within several properties. property-id KalkNr binary-long. getter. set property-value to W-KalkNr setter. set W-KalkNr to property-value invoke self::NotifyPropertyChanged("KalkNr") end property. Both systems will have Visual Cobol 2.3 Update 1 installed, the first system with Visual Studio 2013 and the receiving one with Visual Studio 2012. Hello, I have a managed WinForms app (Visual Studio 2013, Visual COBOL 2.2) with a TextBox (Multline = True and AcceptsReturn = True) and it is sized to allow entry of multiple lines of text, which may be entered using the Enter key.  I also have the same app except it is done in C#. As you know, using the Enter key will cause a Carriage Return Line Feed (hex oa0d aka \\r\\n) pair of characters (non-printable) to be embedded into textBox1::Text wherever the user has entered the Enter key, and this causes any following text to be visually put at the beginning of the next visual line, etc.  You CAN'T see these embedded non-printable characters with a watch on textBox1::Text in the debugger (although you can with C#, what a bummer!).  In any event, I then take the contents of textBox1::Text to a string and pass that string to a third-party app (MS Word, in fact).  When I get the string back from Word, it has been stripped of the Line F

I have made 2 console projects in Visual Studio 2012. One project is unmanaged, the other one is managed. In both projects I have basically the same program that writes a lot of lines to a line sequential file. I notice a big difference in performance. In the unmanaged project the program is alomst twice as fast. It looks as if in the unmanaged project buffering of the i/o is taking place, while in the managed environment the buffering is missing. Can anybody tell me what the cause is of the difference in performance? And, is there a way to improve the performance of the managed program?

Hi ,  On Unix system we could do a mass compilation using shell scripting . Getting the Program names from a single location and passing them to the cob command for compilation. How do i implement that in Visual COBOL Powershell Environment . How do i compile my various Projects under D:\\Visual Studio 2013\\Projects i one go. In Unix i could get my program name dynamically from a particular directory as source pgms are at one location, but using MSBUILD i need to go inside the Project folder containing the .cblproj for each project Thanks, Zoeb

who has experience with Cobol and SAP? Since 9 month i learn to program in SAP Abap and i am enjoy for the possibilities in ABAP. ABAP is near Cobol, that was the begin and over many years ABAP have take a many possibilities from other languages. Open Source SQL is integrated, OO ABAP is possible, DYNPRO for graphicals Screens are integrated with many Icons, Webdynpro for Internet programming, etc.... ABAP-Workbench is a very good tool, but the generated code is an Interpreter! This may be a good way to integrate all possibilities in Visual Cobol for a glory future of Cobol Applications! Who want discussions about this theme?

After searching a Long time for a grid with Excel functionality, i have found a activex tool "mstgrid.ocx" from the Website: http://www.mysofttool.com/ With the activex-Assistant i was able to convert any codes in Cobol and i am enjoy from this functions. But by any code, i have Problems to convert! Who can help to convert Visual Basic or C#-Code? Are there better Tools that integrated in MF-Visual Cobol? A ocx-Viewer? I am running Visual studio 2012 VC 2.2.  I can open a DS screen in some folders that were done in netexpress, but I have two solutions that if I try to open the .GS file I get the following error: If I move that .GS file to a different folder that has a different netexpress solution in it, it works, as does all the other .GS in that folder. What do I have setup wrong?

Hi,  In MF COBOL Unix Environment , we used Call SYSTEM to execute Unix Commands from COBOL program.( Mostly used to move files ) In Visual COBOL on Windows ( Oracle DataBase and Powershell scripts ) , how will i execute above commands by using Call SYSTEM. string 'move ' delimited by size 'D:\\DataFiles\\*'  delimited by size 'D:\\OutDataFiles' delimited by size X"00" delimited by size            into WS-SHELL-CMD end-string. call 'system' using WS-SHELL-CMD. We will be using Windows command prompt commands to execute instead of Unix commands ? Please advise if there is something incorrect or missing.
