Uniface®

Hi Experts,There is a simple select statement in lose focus trigger of a field.The problem is it takes around 30 secs to execute in uniface but it takes fraction of a second when executed from toad not sure why there is so much of difference in timing ?  also u_where clause is used in query which has only a column in it which is primary key on table. Thanks,Imran.

 How do I upgrade my Uniface Community Edition? Version 10.4.01 is now a 64-bit application with a different default installation path and a brand new Repository. You install Uniface Community Edition 10.4.01 alongside version 10.3.02.  To use 10.4.01 you can easily migrate your sources.  You can upgrade in just a few steps. Download and install Download and install Uniface Community Edition 10.4.01. It is installed in a different location by default. Your 10.3 installation continues to be available. Export all sources from 10.3.02 Start the Uniface IDE in your previous installation. You can do this by going to  Uniface 10 Community Edition   in your Windows Start menu and clicking   Uniface 10 - IDE . Export definitions to XML files. You can choose to export all objects in the Repository or make a selection of the objects you want to export.  Choose  Main Menu ( ≡ ) > Export  to display the  Export Repository Objects  form. Hi Unifacers,should be expected to be interactive or NOT interactive the help system provided with Uniface Development?Interactive = opening an help page related to the current UDE/IDE functionality.I am using it a lot without focusing on this basic functionality: just pushing F1 and searching.Two days ago a new user asked me if she should expect to be an interactive help or not. I was remembering YES but then I've checked all my different project(s) either in U10 and U9 and in ALL cases the "Getting Started" page is opened when help is requested by F1 or through pulldown.Thanks in advance for clearifying it.Regards,Gianni

Hi Unifacers,I had already implemented interfaces from Uniface to Excel and Outlook, now it is time for Word. I've collected all Word COM signatures using /pid option of /sti command.I am currently able to open a Word document into DOCX format and apply to it various other operations/methods collected from automatic signatures loading. The certificate for the Uniface product download site (download.uniface.com) expired on September 6. So if you go there, you will see a security warning. If you environments permits it, it is safe to move on and grab your release or patch.Putting a new, valid, certificate in place is in the works. After save this item has to be display.After the display i need this item to work with it, but the instance ends after display.I start a new outlook "session" to find the item with the EntryID but it end with an -155 error at the last line .... Uniface is replacing DLM with Sentinel as its licensing tool as of 10.3.03 and 10.4. Sentinel provides more functionality than DLM and will help to reduce license administration and manual overhead for both you, our customers, and for us. So how does it work? And what are the main differences between Sentinel and DLM? At the heart of Sentinel is the Entitlement Management System (EMS), a central cloud service that maintains the licenses for all Uniface customers and users. It provides a self-service portal that you can use to obtain and extend licenses using your Entitlement ID that you initially receive from Uniface License Management. After that, you can simply generate and download license files based on your Entitlement.
