Good to hear: HTMLwidget 9.6.07 works as well as in 9.6.04Author: ulrichmerkel@web.de (ulrich-merkel) It's good to hear that in 9.6.07 the HTMLwidget works as well as in 9.6.04.   The test is based on a simple button with some onclick="a_test('button-activated', 'ab=12')" When clicked, it raises an alert, called a uniface extended trigger which in turn raised a message/info. function a_test(a_from, a_text){alert(a_from + ' ' + a_text);window.unifaceTriggers('a_test_callback', a_from + ' ' + a_text);   Between the versions mentioned above, it took an additional click in the application window after quitting the alert to get the message/info.

Load Definition with OracleAuthor: thomas.young@young-consulting.de (Thomas.Young) Hi Everyone, I am wondering if someone has a similar problem and maybe a solution. We have Uniface Repository in Ora 11 with CLOB Fields. Load-Definition is based on View with a LONG Datatype but that can't be read by LOAD DEFINITION function within Uniface. We've got follow error-msg: 6859 - Unknown data type  for field .ACTIVITY. I/O function: F, mode: 0, on file/table: USER_TAB_COLUMNS index: 1 = ORA-00932: Inkonsistente Datentypen: %s erwartet, %s erhalten ORACLE Driver Error [-35]: Fetch driver function failed.   We can't use u4compatibillity because than all other definitions in the repository (CLOB) don't match. Best regards Thomas

Different behaviour for conversion string=>numeric when using the debuggerAuthor: bschmidt@arz-emmendingen.de (BenjaminSchmidt) Hi, I discovered a strange behaviour in Uniface-Version 9.3.02.1 I got this very simple function entry LP_Conversion params string someValue : IN numeric convertedValue : OUT endparams convertedValue = someValue end ; When I´m calling the function with the non numeric (not completely) value "200,00" then result parameter is empty. Which is not what I expected ... So I used the debugger to jump to the assignment. And when I execute the command where the conversion happens (convertedValue = someValue) the result parameter is set with 200. That´s what I expected. But why is there a different behaviour when executing the statement with debugger and without? Has anybody else discovered something similar? Thanks a lot. greets Benjamin

[SOLVED] No $resources_output in ASN ==> idf will not startAuthor: knut.dybendahl@gmail.com (Knut) Hi all, I'd like to run without the $resources_output setting in the ASN file - and according to the manual, this should be possible (from the manual); If $RESOURCES_OUTPUT is not present in the assignment file, compiled objects are created and read in the classic locations, and component object files are compressed. However, starting IDF without a $resources_output in the ASN file gives this; idf fatal: $resources_output setting is required Anyone got any ideas as to a workaround? Regards, Knut

Field VC* on MSS driver 5Author: stijn.courtheyn@xperthis.be (Stijn Courtheyn) When creating an entity with field VC*, it results in a MSS script varchar(-7...) Why a negative value, it needs to be varchar(max)

Citrix and debugger issueAuthor: antoine.picaud@free.fr (apicaud) With U9.3 On Citrix server, when we start the debugger by the command debug in our application, our appllication stop and the debugger open (process udbe.exe). We cannot debug our application on Citrix and I don't know why because with previous version (U8.4) there is no issue. Have you an idea ? Regards Antoine

[SOLVED] X605: some strange behaviour when reading modeled procs UUCONC22Author: ulrichmerkel@web.de (ulrich-merkel) As I am informed, after applicaton of X605 there is some strange effect in IDF. When you open the form UUCONC22 which displays the trigger of a modeled entity, you get an information about indirection failure. If you directly quit out of the form, you get the dialog about open changes. All that looks like a severe problem because you have not done anything beside opening this form and look,. So you better have a backup of your uniface installation before you apply this patch. Saves you a lot of time when you have to "rollback".

[SOLVED] Struct DataType not available anymore in 9.6.07Author: richard.gill@agfa.com (richard.gill) In 9.6.06, the Struct DataType was available for the model field definition. This type is also available in 9.7. The 9.6.07 version does not permit such a DataType. We have created a tool (to encapsulate the handling of REST requests) based on an entity defining entries in its Local Prod Modules. Those entries use non-database fields of type Struct to contain revelant information about a REST request and the to be generated response. This method permits us to avoid using component variables for a generic and shared tool. It seems to touch only the IDF, as the DataType now appear empty in the model, while a component compiles with this entity, and struct fields are addressables.

local variable date formatAuthor: osieman@gmail.com (osie_osie) A local variable($lv_date$) with display format = DIS(yyyy-mm-dd) I then put this into a where clause "where br_from_dt >= '%%$lv_date$%%%'" before it would display as where br_from_dt >= '2010-06-30' but now it shows as where br_from_dt >= '201006-30'   Temporary workaround from Uli: Add an extra '-' Use DIS(yyyy--mm-dd) ??

Multirecord issue with or without a gridAuthor: gianni.sandigliano@unifacesolutions.com (gianni) Uniface 9.6.07 - we are facing with a recurring issue with entities showing multiple records in a non modal form either with a grid or without a grid: Example 1: 1) The user is positioned on record 1 of multiocc entity (in this case in a grid) part of a NonModal Form ($curocc("EntityName") = 1) 2) The user click on the row 8 header requesting in this way to go into details for that row 3) The ExtendedTrigger is starting this code RowHeader_LClicked: setocc "EntityName", ROWNUMBER ; ROWNUMBER is equal 8 call myLocalProc ; This local proc is starting another NonModal Form to manage row details 4) The user exit the called form; it does not matter if accepting or quitting it. Note: at this point $curocc("EntityName") = 8 5) The FormGetFocus trigger code in the calling form is started Note: during execution of all the codelines into this trigger, up to "done&

on BUG 31043 - Compiler error when passing a negated boolean as a parameterAuthor: ulrichmerkel@web.de (ulrich-merkel) on http://unifaceinfo.com/fixes/issuelist/31043.php is reported the compier can not handle the !boolean as parameter. As workaround, it is suggested: Negate your boolean before passing it as a parameter. Or use an intermediate boolean variable to hold the negated value. Using a global function NOT would be much more comfortable: ; call show1 (!bval) ; causes the error call show1 (NOT(bval) ) ; works without temporary assignments etc. entry NOT returns boolean params boolean p_bool : IN endparams return !p_bool end ; NOT Greetings from Frankfurt/Germany, Uli

Dropdownlist-Widgets smaller than othersAuthor: juerg.fross@teamspirit.ch (jfro) Hi all We migrated our application on Uniface 9.4.01.02 under Windows7. It seems that in this version the Dropdownlists are 1 or 2 pixels smaller than the other widgets. Is this a known problem? Thanks to all Jürg

[SOLVED] Grids, save Layout and hidden columnsAuthor: alex.meyers@cevi.be (ceviame) we are using 9.6.06/X603 a form with a grid is activated from 2 different points in the application from point 1 all the columns are shown and when you change width of a column the state is saved  from point 2 some columns are hidden and when you change the width of a column the state is NOT saved is this as intended or is this a bug ?   regards Alex

[SOLVED] SOAP U2.0 call-outAuthor: knut.dybendahl@gmail.com (Knut) Here's a strange one; On a Win2008R2 (call this ServerA) , a 32 bit version of Uniface is installed - and a callout to a SOAP service is performed ok. Using the same executable, and running on a mapped network drive to a Win7 Enterprise pc works fine. Copy the installation from ServerA to ServerB, and the callout to the soap service fails with a -155. Run the executable from Server B on a Win 7 Enterprise - works fine.... Has anyone seen this before? It smells of a DLL being updated by the installation process - but I cannot see any differences in the DLL's (afaics). Cheers, Knut

[SOLVED] uServer goes endless loopAuthor: hansen@ahp-gmbh.de (-GHAN-) Hi everybody, does anybody use the urouter intense? "Intense" here means like with 20+ clients requesting data. Sometimes the uServer is stuck and runs endless ... the task takes more and more ram and moves to a 100% cpu. The only way to stop it is to kill the task. Can anybody confirm this?   And there is another one i want to ask for: My request to uRouter gets stuck when two requests (in my case AJAX) are started at the same time! If uRouter has a lucky moment, the one of the requests returns after 30+ seconds. Has anybody seen this behavior lately?   Cheers, -GHAN-

Fieldname truncated in sql/data/fieldnameAuthor: eugene.truter@sita.co.za (eg) Hi, I'm using sql/data/fieldname to return the fieldname selected but it seems that the fieldname is truncated to the length of the result of the field. Is this correct? (example: in $IDF: "select U_VLAB, ICDEFINED from UCSCH" will return fieldnames of U_VLAB and I in the first row. Was kind of hoping for U_VLAB and ICDEFINED). Cheers e

[SOLVED] $signatureproperties problemAuthor: alex.meyers@cevi.be (ceviame) situation we imported a WSDL, endpoint is ServerA, activate works fine we have to deploy to several customer sites with local webservice, so we make the location dynamical thru the use of $signatureproperties (svc=xxx) at the customer site, the value is ServerX, and we get an activate error -155  MESSAGE=WSDL reader error DETAIL=Instance::Instance WSDLException: faultCode ACCESS_ERROR, An exception occurred! Type:NetAccessorException, Message:The host/address 'ServerA' could not be resolved" what fooled us was that we tested the working of $signatureproperties inhouse with a ServerB and we got the response from this server (verifiable thru content) but this was in an environment were ServerA was also available the Help file says The dynamic properties you set get merged with the properties defined in the assignment file (in the [SERVICES_EXEC] sec

[SOLVED] Windows Server 2012 R2 CompatibilityAuthor: sarah.pontin@newport.gov.uk (sarah_jane77uk) Hi   We have a Windows Server 2012 R2 server with Uniface 9.6 installed, we are receiving the 'Platform Unsupported - Fatal Error 9032' reported.  We are running Uniface 9.6.01.02.   Can anyone please advise ?   Thanks   Sarah

$oldocchandle$->op() changes $curocc, but curoccvideo doesn't followAuthor: ulrichmerkel@web.de (ulrich-merkel) scenario: we have a multi-occ form and turned curoccvideo on. - positioned in occurence 1, we saved the occhandle to $oldocchandle$ - we use the mouse to go to occurence 3, which is now highlited. - from a DTLF, we start: $oldocchandle$->op - the highlited occurence is still 3, but $curocc returns 1.   So tests results in: using an occhandle->op() changes the active path

[SOLVED] Device table compilation messagesAuthor: p.lovati@pokerspa.it (PaoloLovati) Release: 9.6.01 Update: 9.6.01.02 (X103 0309_1) Platform: WN1 When compiling device tables I get infos e warnings but in the message frame only the total count is reported as in the following example: Compile Device_table: 'P_LASERJET2' Device_table: P_LASERJET2 Compile done: [info 35, warnings 2, errors 0] Where can I see the detail of such info/warnings? pragma V5ProfileAuthor: marco.aquino@dedalus.eu (Marco) Uniface 9.4.0.1 Patch R129 Windows XP/Seven/2003 Database Oracle If the clause pragma V5Profile is insert into a local proc in local procedure trigger, all the code after that definition make a V5Profile enable. Example Trigger local procedure entry proc1 pragma v5profile askmess/question "GOLD character ?" end; proc1 entry proc2 askmess/question "No GOLD character ?" end ; proc2 In this example, when I call the proc2, I see that the "?" character is converted to GOLD?, if I invert the code like this entry proc2 askmess/question "No GOLD character ?" end ; proc2 entry proc1 pragma v5profile askmess/question "GOLD character ?" end; proc1 I see the message correct. In Uniface 8 this doesn't appair. I tried to make a simple form to replicate error but a simple form works. Has anyone had this problem? Marco

Tricky sorting and trigger activationAuthor: zdenek.socha@fullsys.cz (sochaz) Hello, we're facing a problem with trigger activation and sorting occurrences in a grid. I'll try to describe the situation. Short description: - user enter data in a field, then clicks on a column header to sort the entity, then leaves the field... some triggers are never activated (e.g. ValueChanged) Detailed description: user enters data in a field user decides to sort occurrences - so he clicks on a column header - this activates extended trigger, which calls a global procedure sort is performed, setocc to the same occurrence before sorting and prompt is set back to the original field some triggers are not fired, for example ValueChanged, $fieldendmod is not set This is quite a problem... in common situation, when user enters data in a field (which is part of the primary key), these triggers are activated: Value Changed, Validate Field, Leave Field (with $fieldendmod set), Leav
