XSLT TransformationAuthor: antoine.picaud@free.fr (apicaud) Gents, I have an application who use USYSXSLT to transform xml to another xml format. Under Uniface 9.3.02, I exported the sources of my application and import into a new reference and a new database (Upgrade from ORA U6.3 Ora10gR2 to U6.4 Ora11gR2). (Application Serveur HP-UX to AIX 5.3) I've generate the urr on the application server and copy the urr (also dol) on the WIN env. I launch my application and in my code, I've activate "usysxslt".... and the status is -51. Wrong signature. It's a Uniface component. The log on urr is my urr and usys.urr. Where is the error ?

Double & seen instead of one in menus and messagesAuthor: tatiana@ca.ibm.com (tandron) In Uniface 9.3.02, after applying P225, when an & is part of the text in a message or menu, two are shown. Anyone else encountered this?   Thanks Tatiana

Restore $windowproperties valuesAuthor: p.lovati@pokerspa.it (PaoloLovati) Hi All, I'm not able to restore the window property BACKIMAGE to the default value (none) the window had at the moment of instantiation, after having set it up to a glyph or file using $windowproperties. With other properties, like BACKCOLOR, this operation can be done. Does anybody tried the same? Thanks. Paolo Lovati

V8=>V9 $number($format) may end as NULL in DBAuthor: ulrichmerkel@web.de (ulrich-merkel) 9.4: in the deformat trigger there is a $number($format) which worked w/o any trouble in U8. Under specific circumstances, this ends as a NULL in the database, even if $format holds "04".

RadioGroup and VALC and $promptAuthor: sam_kester@kindermorgan.com (Samuel Kester) Pick a form to use for testing (does not need to be new) Paint an EditBox / numeric field: NUMFLD1 Paint a RadioGroup: RADGRP1 with two options Y = %Yes, N = %No in <VALC> trigger of RADGRP1 enter: if (RADGRP1 = "Y")     NUMFLD1 = ""     $prompt = NUMFLD1 endif Activate the form, navigate to the RADGRP1 field and type "y". If it works like my test you will notice that the "y" is placed in the numeric field. Note1: this does not happen on a UniField (only EditBox) Note2: this is true in both 9.4 and 8.4.6

Uniface Structs: hurdle 1Author: gianni.sandigliano@unifacesolutions.com (gianni) I have had a light education on Uniface structs and, since first time I've heard about it, I always looked for an occasion to dedicate to them some deep learning time. Now I need to write a very simple Uniface application to: - Load a received XML from disk - Recognize few specific TAG(S) and get their (sub)value(s) - Write those values into some RDBMS tables - Delete each recognized TAG with its (sub)value(s) - Dump a new XML without those recognized and deleted TAG(S) Because those tags data I should managed are data valid only INTERNALLY at the user company, it is NOT my task to verify a full XML consistency, so for me: - No validation - No verification I am only interested to receive a loadable XML! It's time to test using Uniface struct in a real usecase. ========== ========== ========== ========== First hurdle: a very simple instruction: xmltostruct/full vStruct, "XMLToTestStruct.xml" wh

Uniface Structs: hurdle 2Author: gianni.sandigliano@unifacesolutions.com (gianni) Hi Unifacers, In a struct member names can have repetitions on same level so the only way to refer for sure to a specific member on a certain level is by its $index. Extending this concept through levels the only unique identification of each struct member in a struct it is through its "path of $index(es)" starting from the root of the struct...something like: putmess vStruct->*{1}->*{3}->*{2}->whatever This instruction is a complex and fixed one: it refers to a specific number of levels. Uniface variables can be used instead of hardcoded positional numbers like in: putmess vStruct->*{vPosLevel1}->*{vPosLevel2}->*{vPosLevel3}->whatever on each level but number of tree levels are 'de facto' hardcoded into code. It is unclear to me: is it possible to refer to a specific member of a struct using a single Uniface variable or (better) a single Uniface list, whatever is the n

U9.3 - Scrolling with arrow keys impaired by layout templateAuthor: tatiana@ca.ibm.com (tandron) Hi all, After migrating from 7.6.2 to 9.3.2 we have the following issue when scrolling occurrences of an entity using the arrow keys (scrolling via scroll bar is OK): if cursor is placed on a field with layout (template or shorthand), scroll does not work. There are two workarounds, each with obvious drawbacks: 1) remove the layout from field definition 2) force cursor to a field without layout using $prompt in FieldGetsFocus trigger. Looks like a Uniface bug to me, but maybe I am missing something...surely someone must have encountered this...what have you done?   Thanks Tatiana

Problem running a DSPAuthor: rnavanee@hotmail.com (rnavanee) I am having problem running a DSP in windows 7 Home premium. I get the following error :"Failure in the connection to the UNIFACE Application Server". I am trying out Uniface 9.4 for the first time and trying a Web Application for the first time. Activating SSP ignores subtransactions?Author: zdenek.socha@fullsys.cz (sochaz) Hello, just very short description of our problem: Uniface 9.3.02.01 (P213 0715_1), Oracle 10.2.0.4.0. We need to execute Oracle stored procedure, which performs implicit commit. But we need our original transaction not to be affected by this. It seems quite easy to use subtransactions in Uniface. So I created a brand new service, make newinstance with TRANSACTION property set to TRUE, open new paths etc. All my DB work is just fine, I have more separate connections, can store data in that service and does not affect transactions on my original connection (that is in parent component of my service). Unfortunately, as soon as I activate my Oracle prcedure, which is defined in the signature editor as "Stored Procedure Component (Default)", it seems to be activated on my original path - even though I activate it in the service, which should have his own connections (own transactions). Since

Interface to ELSTERAuthor: i2stiller@gmx.de (istiller) Hi freaks We have to implement a interface to the german tax office software "ELSTER". Does anyone allready did this? If yes, with or without a wrapper around the ELSTER API? I'm trying to avoid another software between our software and ELSTER. ELSTER does provide  "simple" C/C++ API but some of the parameters a C-structs and handles My question is, how to implement this by pure UnifAce? Every marketing guy from UnifAce allways tell us, how easy it is to use UnifAce, so there must be a simple solution in UnifAce :-) Ingo

Avoiding empty tags in structtoxmlAuthor: tneeskens@itblockz.nl (Theo Neeskens) Hi, I have a situation where I need to: - retrieve lots of related data in a Uniface service - create a struct using componenttostruct - create XML using structtoxml - dump the XML as a file on disk    It works fine so far, but I do not want empty XML tags in the output. - Is there a way to specify a switch on componenttostruct so I do not get the empty fields in the struct? - Is there a way to specify a switch on structtoxml so I do not get the empty fields in the XML?   NB: It needs to be fast, and the code needs to be kept extremely simple, so the answer "just iterate over the struct and remove them yourself" is not the answer that I am hoping for...

Debugger: "Watches" "Locals" not visibleAuthor: juerg.fross@teamspirit.ch (jfro) Hello I am using Uniface 9.4.01 on Windows 7. Until yesterday I had in using DEBUGGER a window splitted in 3 parts: Component (top) Watches (left down) Locals (right down) Maybe I did some manipulation - unfortunately I don't know what. However since yesterday only the "component-window" is visible. My collegues also working with the same environment still see the 3 parts. So it seems to be some "local" change which only concerns me... Has somebody a solution? Greetings Jürg

Renaming elements in XML outputAuthor: tneeskens@itblockz.nl (Theo Neeskens) Hi, I have a situation where I need to: – retrieve lots of related data in a Uniface service – create a struct using componenttostruct – create XML using structtoxml – dump the XML as a file on disk    It works fine so far, but I need to rename some of the XML tags. Lets say that in Uniface I have a field CUSTNR and my XML tag should be CUSTOMERNUMBER. I have read the documentation a couple of times and I now think it is possible with structtoxml/schema. But since I havent used XSD for output before, I am unsure. Am I on the right track? Can somebody explain in plain English what I need to do?

$valuepart($labelproperties(fieldname)) sometimes returns 0Author: jbrown@canberra.com (jbrown) In Uniface 9.4, I would like to display the label of a field in a grid widget in an error message. I am using the following code: $$gbr_msg1 = "%%$valuepart($labelproperties(building_id.gbl_buildings))%%% cannot be blank". Sometimes errormsg contains the actual label text, but sometimes in place of the label text there is a 0 (0 cannot be blank). I haven't been able to figure out why the label value changes. By the time this code is reached, the execute trigger has completed (e.g. the Presentation layer is available).

Menu compiler messages give a 1126 errorAuthor: knut.ivar.alvestad@logica.com (knutia) Hi I am fairly new to Uniface and need help to figure out why I’m getting an error when compiling. Getting the same error when using /all as when I use /men. The error is as follows:      error: 1126 - Cannot compile; specified information not found. Menu compiler messages: [info 0, warnings 0, errors 1] in 0 menu(s) This program shod not has any menus so why do I get this error? When looking for menus in idf there is none I can find. How can I figure out this so it does not fail? Anyone having the same problem or have a solution? The program does not have glyphs and when compiling it displays "Can't find Glyph(s)" so I expected menu to do the same.

Mouse wheel moves contents of the form. (Solved R123)Author: cyz@fullsys.cz (st_cyz) Today I saw a strange behavior at customer's office. He opened a form and retrieved data. Then he clicked on some fields in two tables. When he turned the mouse wheel, whole contents of form moved down. Contents falls down and never back to top. The only workaround is to maximize and restore the form. But after turning the mouse wheel, one can see the same behavior. I tried to cleanup form layouts (left top setup menu, state tag), then I installed the latest patch P209. I also deleted the State in Windows registry. The problem still persists. We discovered this behavior only in two forms and on one particular PC (Windows XP), so it is difficult to create testset. One form is rather complex, it uses grids and split bars. The other one is very simple, but I reproduced this behavior only once (in this simple form). Is there anybody who is solving the same or similar problem? Thanks Stani

upopmail without utfAuthor: thomas.young@young-consulting.de (Thomas.Young) Hello, we changed one system from U9202 to U9301 (P103) and now it occurs a little problem with sending e-Mails throug UPOPMAIL. With U9202 we can send e-Mails with Codepage 1251, set in $SYS_CHARSET. Now from U93 on UPOPMAIL supports UTF, but we didn't want to use it. $SYS_CHARSET is still set, but it seems to be ignored. Unfornately the documentation give not any glue, just says UTF is supported. UPOPMAIL is c-dll implemented, so normaly $sys_charset shoud work. Has anybode any hint, what we missed? Or does mean support utf othe codepage won't work anymore? Best regards Thomas From ulibary: Emails are sent to SMTP servers in UTF-8 format. The complete content, including subject and message body, are encoded as UTF-8 before being further encoded as Base64 for network transport. The character set is specified in the message header, so upon arrival, the SMTP server autom

How to read occurence from 3GL ?Author: kevin.palm@labsolution.lu (palm.kevin) Hi all, I desperately am looking for a way to read all fields of an occurrence painted in my entity. Basically I would like to have a "getlistitems/occ" but in my 3GL code... (C) In the Uniface documentation I found the method ugget but it seems that this method only works on database fields... (This is not mentionned in the documentation but I discovered this behavior) Does anybody know how to achieve the wanted behavior: Read from C all painted fields of an occurrence independently if the field is a database or non-database-field (regardless if DB- or dummy-entity) Thanks
