Can we execute DDL statements using InstantSQL

Hi All Perhaps a short one, but can someone please confirm that the super Q pointers ONLY work across D3 installations with THE SAME rev version? Assuming the hosts file has been setup correctly for this exercise . IOW, I should NOT expect to communicate (as via a LIST verb) to D3 machine A (where A is D3 version 10.x) and an older D3 version (say 7.x).I am able to do same 7.x to 7.x - that's OK BUT NOT 10.x to 7.xJust require confirmation. Or is there a solution which I don't know of?Thanks

We are using the url encoding algorithm to encode a uniface list to be passed as a command line parameter on starting another uniface session.  This appears to occasionally truncate. The spawn command in use says it can take 8K as a command line, and it's definitely not that big.  Is there some other limit I'm missing? Sizes of the parameters on the uniface command line? Whenever ES Server goes for a reboot MFDS Service doesnt go to stopped normally. In in the Windows System Event logs I could see that MFDS Service terminated unexpectedly, and also Fileshare service terminated unexpectedly. Other Micro Focus Services dont have this kind of event. Since this is a production system need to know the impact of this happening repeatedly & also any workaround to avoid this events. #EnterpriseServer

Hello, My company uses a phantom process that runs using the PHANTOM BRIEF. It's a continuous program that compares the current epoch with the epoch +180 (seconds) to determine when the next iteration will kick off. After 8 or more months of running every 3 minutes, the phantom unexpectedly self-terminates. It's a business-critical process that needs to be running at all times. It stopped unexpectedly over the weekend and resulted in a lot of issues. I've been scouring the forums for a few hours to see if I can figure out some way to prevent it from happening, but I can't identify the root cause. The program has had read/write logging set up for several years. Any error opening files or writing to them is logged to a custom flat file on a network drive, but no logs have been written there the past 3 times the phantom terminated. No logs were written to PH--though I'm not sure if that needs manual setup. The errlog file only displays the current day's user errors, preventing me from see

I need to encrypt a string with the aes-256-cbc. My encryption is not matching what the other end needs which is a php endpoint.  In the documentation there was definitely a statement that makes me think I did at least one thing wrong but I am not sure.  Converting the aeskey to a hexidecimal format is what I think I may not understand. You see that I am taking each character in aeskey and building a string of the hex values for the character.  Below is a bit of the code for the encryption.  Once again I am missing something. How can I call two applications at the same time and work simultaneously using Accuterm 8? I have a primary menu called MM, for instance. I want to call two separate sessions from the main menu: Customer Master (CM) and Order Entry. I use EXECUTE but the primary menu is unable to use. With Accuterm 8, I am using the Unidata database. Any insights you can share would be greatly appreciated. In BDT you can click on the Windows toolbar option and the Editor option allows you to split the window into two panes either vertical or horizontal. It will work with a single file, but how can I open two different programs in either of the panes?

I appreciate that with DSPs the answer is just to paint the image widget, however, this is for integration with a java(script) based graphics/graphing utility via JSON data output by a USP, so I can't do that.  I have bitmap data loaded into the database using lfileload/raw, I am trying to convert this to a tag to display an image in HTML <img src='data:image/bmp;base64, DATAGOESHERE'> I have tried variables raw v_raw string v_string endvariables v_raw=$encode("URAW", fieldname) v_raw=$encode("BASE64", v_raw) v_string = $encode("USTRING", v_raw) and then replacing DATAGOESHERE with v_string, this doesn't work (I've also tried it outputting a basic HTML file, so I know it's not anything further up the line which is at fault).  I originally tried without the URAW encode, doesn't appear to make any difference.  The data unloads to a bmp file using filedump/raw okay, so I am going to proceed with a (IMNSHO) 'bad' option of dumping the file into a folder in weba

We have a new installation of EDA and when we try to map a file they all come up as a "B" on the filename, which designates it as a non UniData or directory type file. We have an open case and also a paid contract to Rocket to get it working, but no luck as of now. Throwing this out there to see if anyone else had this issue and resolved it. We have this working on our development server just fine and all code levels and settings are the same. Hi guys - I know I can wrap a grid column header by typing a shift-enter where I want the header to wrap. Similar to making old pick headers wrap by using a multivalue mark. But I want the DATA within the grid to wrap or be 'stacked'. Like an address with name on the first line, street on the second, and city,st,zip on the third line - all within one grid row and column cell. I don't want to have to mess with blocking the characters to force a wrap.  Anyone know how to do this? Hi, This question is related to Sernet Activity Log and Monthly Reporting Feature. After reading the art S143076/KM000020625, I have the following question or doubt. I have several instance executing on same LPAR. According to the resolution section, each instance of the started task requires its own ACTLOG dataset. On the one hand, if I decide to share a single dataset between multiple started tasks, this will produce unpredictable results. On the other hand, in the same art says the only reason for having multiple procs is to want to direct the report output (SERPRINT DD card) to different datasets. It seems obvious that I want avoid unpredictable results, I must have multiple procs pointing to different datasets, I mean, if I have six or seven ZMF/ZDD procs, I will need six o seven SERALREP procs to avoid the unpredictable results. Right up to here? My question o doubt is the following. Since there is the PARM statement in the proc to specific the ALREPORTPROC startup parm passing p
