Is there a way to turn off the code reformatting? We want the code to stay the way it is but every time we change or move a line of change it gets reformatted. We are using VS 2022/MF COBOL 8 Thanks

Hi, When I edit a program with copybook download they are nicely downloaded to the workstation. I noticed that SYSL00XM is correctly called, however for every copybook that the workbench wants to download I'm getting messages 'DATA SET ... NOT FOUND' in the STC : When a build is triggered, these messages do not appear. So my question is : - How does the retrieval works - If SYSL00XM is called and the SYSLIB is adapted, why is the STC still making references to datasets that were not in the adapted syslibThank you#ChangeManZMF

By Etienne Thijsse  We have recently made some modifications to the way license-related messages are delivered to your Uniface application.  If your support eligibility is approaching the end or has ended, we’ve modified how this message is delivered to your application. Because this end date is normally not a concern for the end users of your application, by default, Uniface will no longer send any message about this end date; however, you can use the LM_MAINTENANCE_NOTIFICATION option in the $license_options setting of the assignment file to override this behavior. For example:  [settings] ; Notify me 14 days before the end of maintenance date. ; Then we can renew our maintenance contract in time: $license_settings = LM_MAINTENANCE_NOTIFICATION=14  Also, using the $ioprint 64 assignment file setting or the /pri=64 command-line flag, you can write the actual end date to the log file. This ensures users who are interested in this information will still get notified.

The ChangeMan ZMF plugin for zowe cli and the VSCode based ZMF Explorer both share the common zowe 2 'Teams' profile.  However, if you are a VSCode ZMF Explorer user, you do not have to have the zowe cli and the ZMF cli plugin installed.  It will mean however, that whoever administers the Teams profile does require the zowe cli plugin to be installed in order to generate the Teams profile that can then be distributed.The recommended format of the Teams profile is that you specify the userid and password as secure arguments. These should not be stored in the profile in clear text and that itself cannot happen without each user modifying the supplied Teams profile for his/her own individual credentials. That clearly goes against the intent of the Teams profile and security of credentials.   The Teams profile is essentially comprised of 2 separate elements - System profiles and the Base profile. One of my customers has declared end-of-life on their Windows 2012 server upon which we have run 11.3.1 for 10 years or so.?? The new server will be Windows 2022.?? 11.3.1 is not listed as certified for 2022 server.?? Can I have the IT department move our 11.3.1 system to the 2022 server and then install the 11.3.5 to which we are upgrading while we continue to operate on the old server??? Will programs have to be recompiled and recataloged on the new server or will the map still be valid??? Has an upgraded python been included with the UniVerse download and will it be added or replace the current python?Thanks,Dale

Hi Unifacer, I am in the process to define a renewed Standard&Guidelines, following current terminology a "framework", to be used to develop a Uniface 3tiers web application:- the front-end must be Uniface DSP/USP based- services and reports will be Uniface reused from application(s) currently in production Possible inclusion of third part external frontEnd/services/reports as:- External complete app integration- StoredProcs from (R)DBMS- Services completely developed in other languages- External reporting tools integration- ...are welcome but they should be integrated into an ALL Uniface environment. The big question is: today which set of Javascript libraries to be integrated with Uniface and why ? I know the question has no simple answer, expecially the WHY part, probably requiring a book with hundreds of pages but I will appreciate any answer or tips will be posted here. Thanks! I have 1.3.1 installed in a test environment. Installation was a real pain since the documentation for the correct version of Java and Python were incorrect in the docs. Thank heaven for Rocket support! We wanted to use Azure for our OAUTH bearer token (like we do through Postman), but could never figure out how to do that in 1.3.1. With Rocket's assistance, we got things working using KeyCloak. I have found 1.3.2 release notes and user guide, but cannot see if anything changed to resolce the above problems. 1) does 1.3.2's zip bundle contain the Python and Java versions that are required? 2) can Azure be used for the Bearer token (OAUTH), and if so how? Would appreciate someone pointing me to some more complete docs that may cover these topics. We are in testing a new server where we've installed jBASE 5.8.  We migrated everything from the old server running jBASE 5.7 and are concerned about indexes. Hi, Yesterday I ran in some kind of deadlock situation (at least I think) - the ZMF Explorer uses the old fashioned way of userid and password - ZOSMF has been implemented using MFA In VS Code they both use underneath the Credentials Manager of ZOWE When I logon to ZMF, zooms is not working and when I connect to zosmf the ZMF Explorer isn't working Is there a way to have both plugins working with different security credentials Thank you Best regards Johan #ZOSMF#ChangeManZMF#zowe#ZMFExplorer

hi folks, I hope someone can help me.  First, I want to add pypi.org packages /modules and have it available to import on script.py executed from RUNPY or BASIC py function. How to do it fom within  Universe ?  Second, I want to distribute our own modules with my basic application. Trying to call a REST service from within Uniface code.  Using the following code.  putitem/id v_headers,"X-PCI-Token",<token> putitem/id v_headers,"content-type","application/json" v_data = $newstruct .... some code to build the struct correctly....... structtojson/whitespace v_content, v_data $api$->set_flags(15) v_status = $api$->SEND($uri$, "POST", "", "", v_Headers, v_Content, v_Response) v_headers, v_contact and v_response are all strings.  I have checked v_content just before the send operation, and it contains correctly formatted JSON. Pasting this JSON into SoapUI activates the far end correctly.  However, logging on the far end shows blank content when send from uniface.  Is there any way I can catch/log the output of UHTTP to get the raw data sent to the far end? I'm an ole school programmer getting back into COBOL programming (for fun, not profit) currently using Visual COBOL in VS2022 to produce an application with character-based screens (i.e., screen section) and I have a couple of questions: How can I print a program listing? Ages ago on the mainframe I would print listings showing the assembler code. Is this even possible in my configuration? What are the prevailing COBOL coding conventions? I am trying to call a program of type "JVM COBOL" (which from now on I will call program "J") from a program of type "Native COBOL" (which from now on I will call program "N") from my Enterprise Developer local environment but the following error occurs:Load error : file 'ProgramJ'error code: 173, pc=0, call=1, sec=0173 Called program file not found in drive/directory The program program "J" is in a project of type "COBOL JVM Project" and program "N" is in another project of type "Mainframe COBOL Project". I have modified the "Projects" tab of the "Micro Focus --> Build Path" properties of the "Mainframe COBOL Project" type project to incorporate the "COBOL JVM Project" type project, but this has not been enough for the "Enterprise Developer" find the compiled object of program "J". So, could anyone tell me what else I should change in the settings to fix the problem?Finally, I add that the compilation of the program "J" generates a file with the extension .class and the compilation

We have a batch system which is being converted from NetExpress to MF Visual COBOL 8. In VS when debugging we are using Environment Variables to define file and report paths. But when the EXE is used in Testing or released to client we don't want the Environment Variable included as the report/file paths will be in the BAT file.   If we don't tick the 'Use variables when building the project' when debugging will the variables be used but when compiling/build for release will the variables be ignored?  In NetExpress we had two projects, a development project where the environment variables would be populated and then a release project which the environment variables would not be entered. I am trying to get away from having to have separate projects, one for development and one for release.

Standard bind automation concentrates on the target environment (e.g. promotion or install target). With the dynamism of Db2 package location this is generally good enough.
