When there is more than one database client software version on a given server, how does Uniface know which one to use? Is it solely through the driver version in the assignment file? This implies that a given driver version only applies to one database client version. In our case, we have both Oracle 12cR2 and 19c on the same server. The driver for 12cR2 is U7.2 and for 19c is U7.3. Seems like all I would have to do is change the driver version from U7.2 to U7.3 in order to point to the 19c client version. I have a Python script that uploads a program and tries to compile it. But every time it compile my program errors because we use Pick.  Can we set up some options so the command executes using Pick flavor?  I already tried setting the TCLTYPE before running the command, but it doesn't work. Somewhere along the line, we have lost the setting in SB client where if you highlight and copy some text on the screen, then paste it into something (like NotePad++ or an email), it loses the CR/LFs.  This means, instead of retaining the format from the screen, the pasted result is one big string on a single line. Where is the setting to tell SB client to keep the CR (CR/LF) when you copy data from the screen? Thanks JRI

Hi everyone. I want to use the unifaceTriggers javascript function in a uHTML widget. The idea is to communicate between Uniface and my page. I want to use a tinyMCE control to allow my users to edit html messages. So I use an uHTML widget with "Use extended triggers" and "Enable Javascript" checked. My html (with tinyMCE) is working ok. If I send a function call from UNIFACE to JS, no problem it works $fieldhandle(TRACEHTML)->$widgetoperation("JS:testText", "Test") But not the other way around. Hi, I am trying to create a build pipeline for a simple cobol console app created using Microsoft Visual Studio. I have installed Microfocus Visual cobol and VS 2022 in an azure VM which I use as self hosted agent in Azure pipeline. While executing the pipeline , I am getting the error  "The nuget command failed with exit code(1) and error(NU1101: Unable to find package MicroFocus.COBOL.Runtime. No packages exist with this id in source(s): NuGetOrg Errors in c:\\work\\1\\s\\DemoCobolApp\\DemoCobolApp\\DemoCobolApp.cblproj NU1101: Unable to find package MicroFocus.COBOL.Runtime. Last year, having switched back from Unidata to Universe, you all helped me with simple triggers - which on universe are made as file indexes. Now I am trying to apply that to a NEXT.ID but it's stored in a DICT, not uncommon for PICK. Trying to make an index on a dict, however, didn't work. >CREATE.INDEX DICT KHTEST TRIGGER   Only records of type A, D, I or S allowed! I know this trigger works as I had applied it to the data portion originally. Ideas, suggestions, thoughts? Hi - We are moving from NetExpress 5.1 to Visual Studio 2022/Visual COBOL 8.0 We have several program that use COMMIT TRANSACTION transname-name  these compile in NetExpress but in Visual COBOL they error with  COBES0100 Incorrect SQL statement syntax near: ONE We are compiling using the same COBOL.DIR. This the a setting, directive or something else that will get the program to compile without changing the code? Thanks

Hi All! We have a application (SEMtek developed by Entrinsik) utilizing Universe 11.3 and SB 5.5, with the client being SBC 5.5 (currently).  We've gone through multiple upgrades, however I believe our limit has been reached for UV and SB+ due to some programing limitation in the produce that are no longer being developed.  We've had this running for 15+ years, so all iterations of the supporting software along the line. We're using SBClient uding the GUI for SB.  We've had no issues with SBC up until newer versions of Windows 10 and similar time frame Server OSs.  In Server 2016, all items the app uses in SBC seem to work fine.  In newer releases of Windows 10 and Server 2019, SBC the main interfaces seem to work fine, but some sub menu items completely crashes and closes out the app without error.  I have ticket in with our VAR Entrinsik and will be digging myself to see if I can find what processes this death clicks are using.  Just thought I'd post here to see if someone has any ob

I am using Relativity to define ISAM file.Below is one such exmaple:  File structure [EMPLOYEE] 01  Record-1.      02 EMP-ID         PIC 9(10).      02 EMP-NAME PIC X(30).      02 EMP-DEPT-CODE PIC 9(3). Relativity Definition TABLE : EMPLOYEE EMP_ID      DECIMAL(10,0) PRIMARY KEY NOT NULL.. EMP_NAME CHAR(30) NOT NULL. EMP_DEPT_CODE SMALLINT   NULLABLE. When I am trying to INSERT Value. Insert query has only 2 columns. Insert query is failing for null value in EMP_DEPT_CODE. INSERT INTO EMPLOYEEE (EMP_ID,EMP_NAME) VALUE ("ABC","SWAP") My question : Is there a way to DEFAULT Value inserted into the column(s) not passed via Query? Hi, what do you think about adding a column to table in SQL without updating the uniface model? The column will contain data from existing columns in the table (based on sql expression) and will be not used in Uniface components. In SQL it is called computed column. Do you think it is OK to use the new column in table without any connection to Uniface? Are there any risks with this solution?
