I've installed Visual COBOL for VS 2019 but don't have a Start Menu item for VC and I do not see Visual COBOL under the Micro Focus for Visual COBOL. I have ADO.Net, Classic data, Date File, Enterprise Server, Open ESQL, Samples and 2 VC Command prompts, 32 & 64 bit. Have I installed this incorrectly ? Thank you!

Hi Team, I am trying to execute Cobol Db2 program in Micro focus Eclipse. I have completed database and server set up. And also made the changes in Client Options. Getting  Connection name not found - SQLCDOE : 000001970K error. Please help me to fix the issue. Please let me know any other details required regarding the error. My program is opening an output dataset with DCB in the JCL specified as DCB=(LRECL=80,RECFM=FB,BLKSIZE=0) and DISP=(NEW,PASS,KEEP). Sometime the program logic does not write anything to this file and when this file is empty, the catalog entry of it shows invalid DSORF and thus net step which refer it in SYSUT1 fails to find the file. However if I specify DSORG=PS then it works fine.#EnterpriseDeveloper#JCL

Is the accuterm documentation available online here in the Rocket site?I am attempting to FTD data into a spreadsheet where a given column is a calculation. Example column a divided by column b placed into column c. I can put the expression into the data field I will download and the expression executes BUT the data filled in the excel sheet is the result. I want the formula to be loaded into that column, not the result. Problem Submitting a batch job that uses an XA connection results in the following errors: CASXO0001S XA Resource Manager initialization error. Resource <xxxx> open failed, reason  76288CASXO0016S <xxxx> XA interface initialization failure Database OPEN call failed "<xxxx>" Resolution For batch programs to access a database when an XA connection is used an additional XA module needs to be compiled for 1-phase commit support.  For example, for Oracle it is necessary to build the ESORAXA and ESORAOPC modules, using the build script in $COBDIR/src/enterpriseserver/xa: ./build ora ./build ora1pc If the 1-phase commit module has not been created or cannot be located, then the following message will be displayed in the console when starting the batch region: XA interface local transaction support disabled #MFDS#EnterpriseDeveloper

I have a COM Class DLL I've written in VB that I wanted to communicate with via calls in Uniface (call out from Uniface to the DLL).  The only way I could get the signatures to import was to have the DLL file in the uniface\\common\\bin directory, regardless of where the DLL was originally registered on the filesystem.  Additionally, I had to use the /pid switch in order to get the DLL imported.  If I then removed the DLL from the common\\bin directory, the calls to the DLL would stop working (-150).  Is there a way I can register the DLL to the system and call out to the DLL without hard coding the path somewhere or having the DLL in the uniface\\common\\bin directory?  The DLL itself is working, I just need to understand my options for placement on the system outside of the uniface file structure, like so many other DLL's and controls.------------------------------Tim ColvinSmyth Retail Systems Inc.Alliance OH US------------------------------

A friend of mine got bit by an upgrade from PHP 5 to PHP 7. He was accessing the MVS Toolkit from PHP by creating a URI and retrieving data by passing that URI to file_get_contents then parsing the returned JSON object as follows:$uri = "https://xx.xx.xx.xx:8181/ws/wso?param=whatever";$jsonStr = file_get_contents($uri);Because security has become a lot tighter over the last few years, that code resulted in an SSL failure error. A new jEDI that allows you to access the XML file (currently read-only) as if it was a standard jBASE hashed file with the key being the row of the XML file.XMLJEDI is the JEDI program. MAKEXML will generate a sample XML item with however many data items you want. TEXTXML allows you to test for best blocksize for the XML file. With this new JEDI, you can add dict= portion of param and it will create DICT items when the XML is first mapped.  You can also specify the blocksize.    When run against a 500,000 record XML file with a size of 94Mb, it can LIST the file in 3 minutes and 24 seconds.   Here is an example of the jEDI stub for a sample xml file called /big/tmp/SampleLarge.xml : jsh>ED .
