Hi everyone.  This is more for your information than a question.   Since the manual says the KEYSTROKE table is maximum of 170 entries, and I was having some issues, I wondered if the table updated existing entries when a key was changed, or if it was just a log which the runtime searched to see the most recent entry.   I did some testing and table entries get updated so it's not a "log", it's a table. I built a little program to test input and exception keys.  I added a loop to set/reset the kr key back and forth between two values.  Did that 100 times for 200 entries into the table.  Set the kr one more time after the loop, and that's the value I got.  So the table updates entries for various keys, it's not a log where you read everything to find the most recent change.

I'm posting this mostly to let others know about my findings.  If anyone knows a way around this, please, post a reply! As it turns out, my research shows that a format-1 accept (even in gui) can be controlled by the keystroke variable, so you can set up to get an exception value.  However, if you use an ENTRY-FIELD control, the left/right keys are trapped by windows and the field cannot be exited (just like the manual says).   Note: I'm just trying to get one character, including any function/movement keys. I cannot use the W$GETC (won't work for my application).  I've been using the format-1 accept, but I've been running into issues where the active window does not get processed the same when not using the entry-field, even though I use the SET I-O WINDOW to xxx, before doing the accept.   As a result, in my application, clicking the minimize button triggers some handling which does a switch to the main window, check if any mouse movement using form

Hi there, On my team we have a tool for submitting jcl jobs from local machines to a remote z/OS system that depends on the zoautil_py library. We've run into a few issues with this library when printing job output that contains characters that cannot be encoded to utf-8. What is the official forum/process to report bugs and make requests for functionality?  Not sure if this is the best place for this type of question. Thanks in advance.

When Unidata is licensed on HP-UX, is there any dependency on the IP address or system name, or could either be changed without impacting Unidata's license?

I received a ticket from a client asking why a phantom job keeps blowing up after an indeterminate amount of time.  The _PH_ logs shows this: In /usr/udthome/sys/CTLG/c/someProgram at line 493 Phantom run basic error, exit 3. Phantom run basic error, exit 3. Line 493 of someProgram is literally this:EXECUTE "a command"So it seems like whatever that command happens to be, the TCL level that is running with the EXECUTE is blowing up for some reason.  Running out of memory seems like a likely choice, but there may be other reasons as well, of course.  The question is, when there's an issue like this, is anything logged anywhere?

Ya'll,The debugger works fine when activating inside our own network.Everything works fine.Some of the offices access our network via a firewall - and UF itself works fine.  However, when we try to activate the debugger from the other side of the firewall, we crash.How come / why?  Do we need to open another port?  How does UFcommunicate with the debugger?  All the resources needed for the  debugger is underneath the directory structure started using the /dirswitch...So what am I missing??Regards,Knut------------------------------Knut Dybendahl------------------------------

I used the call.stack feature of unidata's port.status - I dont see that on universe. layer.stack does not appear to be even remotely the same...is there a function on universe that will show me what program(s) a port is currently running?thanks!------------------------------Kathleen HambrickProgrammer at Colwell------------------------------

After upgrading VisualCobol from version 4 to to version 7, on AIX, we encountered a problem related to copybooks This is the error I have: * 2572 COPY "/xcl/lib/rec/01.cfrb-xui-co".* 8-S********************************** ( 0)**** Unknown copybook /xcl/lib/rec/01.cfrb-xui-co specified it looks like the new version of compiler does not accept copybook files which have an extension longer than 10 characters. Hello,I am using BlueZone Session Manager v7.1.10.3256 (32-bit) and the function keys do not work for session functions.  Function keys work as per Windows functions but in session when combined with shift key they are suppose to do IBM functions. If I hook up an external keyboard they work fine. In my time using git I've found one of the quickest executing commands is "git status". It gets issued a lot but response times always seems instantaneous, until 2.26.   The first time this was issued after the conversion from 2.14 to 2.26 it took a long time to complete, I'm talking 30+ seconds, which is a lot when you were expecting instantaneous. There was a line in the 2.26.2 for z/OS release notes that said:When you clone the repository with Git for z/OS 2.26.2, you need to run git status command. I'm testing Micro Focus Enterprise Developer, and am at the point where I need to execute a stand-alone Assembler program. This program is doing QSAM I/O and is AMODE(24),RMODE(24) on the mainframe. I thought it would be easier to get it working if I started by executing it through JCL, just like on the mainframe. But the step is ending with a S0C4. Here's what's weird: The JCL output says it is running AMODE31, which is confirmed by the PSW in the assembler debugger. But, I've got RMODE(24),AMODE(24) set as both compile and link options, as well as setting AMODE370=24 in mf370ctl.cfg. Why is it running amode 31? When I turn on the GTF trace, it does NOT end with a detected program check. It just ends with an instruction. The instruction it ends with changes if I change the GTF trace options! For example, if I add the REG trace, then it ends in the middle of the 2-line register trace! (It prints R0-R7 but not R8-RF), and it is not the same instruction as it does without the REG trace
